    Santa Fe. First visit

So after I "shed" my novia, I decided to walk from Calle 56 down to Santa Fe this past Saturday. I felt pretty comfortable about the walk down Carrera 14 since the Transmilenio went through it and I had scouted the route out taking the bus with my novia to La Candaleria the day before. I had no problem making the walk to Santa Fe, aside from just being vigilant about crossing every street, looking out for traffic. Again, I can't reiterate enough, you can very easily get hit by a car / taxi / sport motorcycle if you don't pay attention.

So I make it to Santa Fe and I'm not impressed. Place smells, is dirty and since it's a Saturday, it's a zoo. Hold that thought about it being a zoo on a Saturday. The complexion will change drastically in a couple of days. So since the place is so busy, I blend in rather well wearing black jeans, black T-shirt, light black jacket and black sneakers. I walk around and go places I probalby shouldn't have and have no problem. I find a little supermarket called Danny's Supermercado and the lady working there is nice and it's 2000 mil for a beer which she had to unlock the freezer to get for me, but this became my HQ or Fortress of Solitude, since I knew her price schedule and she was a good vendor. (Again, we're talking less than a buck for a beer, takeout).

Now since it was a Saturday it was very busy in Santa Fe. But what was different was that tons of guys on the sport bikes, (not Harley's), were driving around like idiots scoping out the chicas standing outside of what appeared to be parking garages. It was a traffic nightmare and more of a nightmare to try to cross the street. I'm walking around and quite frankly, nothing interested me. It would be a stretch to say there was a six out there during the day. The talent level was very disappointing and quite frankly, I still can't figure out how the system works, nor did I have any interest in finding out.

Now I arrived in Santa Fe around noon and now I've pounded quite a few beers and need to take a leak. The clubs such as Atunes, Friebe, etc. On Carrerra 16 aren't open yet, so I'm looking for somewhere to take a whiz. I walk down toward Calle 19 and notice I've entered the tranny zone but see a small bar with it's door open, so I figure I'd duck in, buy a beer and take a leak. A tranny follows me in and propositions me, I say no gracias, and then she goes to the hallway adjoining the bar to what appeared to be the entrance to their short term hotel where they do their business. Anyway, I order a beer, spy the urinal and take a much needed leak for 2500 mil, beer included. Now I'm looking around and the place is full of guys and some are watching some Colombian comedy show on TV and others are gazing upwards and I notice they've got a TV placed up on the second floor showing tranny porn. I finish my beer take another leak and off I go. I scout around the 22 and 23 Calles and again, nothing I would even give any thought to.

Around the corner there is some commotion going on. Some locals getting into it, but for all the "Police" patrols in Santa Fe during the day, nobody can be found. So while on that subject let's talk about the "Police".

There are several layers of police in Colombia. National Police which you see at the airport, Military Police because Bogota is after all the capital, Dignitary police, helping with escorting diplomats, real police, those that carry a weapon, and the junior cadet, crossing guard, want to be police, that have a fluorescent vest on and carry a nightstick, but act like girls in a brothel checking there cell phones all the time.

Santa Fe is patrolled by the crossing guard police, which are about as useful as tits on a bull. You'll see why in my next post.

So now the hour is a bit past 2 pm And from what I read, that's when some of the clubs open up. I head over to Atunes, which is now open and I'm greeted like a celebrity and there's no one there, since the club just opened. I found all the other joints mentioned here, but guess I was too early to get a full appreciation. The street scene / window? Scene didn't impress me at all, so after a couple of hours circling the same blocks, I opted to head back to my hotel, with no interest in returning at night either by foot or taxi, although it would have been taxi for sure.

I might have missed out on the first team later in the evening, but if they were anything like the day shift, I'm glad I did.

Trip report continued. The Cons of Bogota

OK, so Bogota, isn't the Caribbean. But by the way, bring sunscreen! My face got roasted. Despite the coolness and the elevation. You're almost at the equator and the sun if super strong. Leave the shorts at home and bring a light jacket.

    Cons.

    - Bogota is huge in terms of land area. Although I did my fair share of walking, you'll need to either master the Transmilenio bus system, or rely on taxis. When you get picked up the meter should start a 25 and there should be a rate card in the pocket in the seat in front of you. There are surcharges though that you need to watch out for. I. e. If you go from one zone to another and some other BS. I think enough's been written about taxi's on this forum.

    - Traffic. Too many cars, and if you don't watch out, you can get killed. You need to be super vigilant crossing any intersection and don't rely on the crosswalk light. Look both ways all the time. Aside from the cars, Bogota is motorbike / cycle central. They drive just as nuts as the taxi guys.

    - Never, and I repeat never, rent a car in Bogota, unless you have a burning desire to experience having to utilize the Collision Damage Waiver aspect of the insurance coverage. I saw the back end of no less than a half dozen accidents during the time I was there.

    - You can get seriously hurt by just walking down the street. There are tons of electrical utility box covers that are off leaving good sized holes in the sidewalk that go down far enough for you to either break or twist an ankle of fall flat on your face. Watch where you walk.

    - The people. I found them to be impersonal and not friendly at all. I was the only gringo in Chapinero from what I saw. I was basically ignored and when I tried to engage someone in Spanish, they were very standoffish. I only encountered a few people that could speak any English. These people were cordial, but for the most part, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from the locals.

    - Dogs. Colombians, and especially the security firms, have a fascination with aggressive breed dogs and they love to showcase them with muzzles on them. This was somewhat intimidating.

    - Santa Fe. Needless to say, as someone posted on here in the past, it's a dump. I will give a separate post with more details.

    - Casas in Chapinaro, Calle's 60 and north. Went to one on Calle 71. Chica Millenio or something to that effect. It had a bunch of guys hanging out in front and this was 10 in the morning. Guy asked me if I were looking for chicas and I didn't have a good vibe to the area so I said no. Was in somewhat of a residential area near a college type building.

    - The mezzanine near Dann Carlton Hotel. Checked this place out my last day en route to the airport. Sampled the goods in one of the establishments. Talk about a broom closet! You've got to be kidding me! Talent was about the best I saw my entire trip. Actually the best talent I saw was at the airport, probably leaving Bogota and going to SXM or somewhere else.

I rise early and made it a point to be back in my hotel by sundown, since Chapinero can be somewhat seedy itself. I can cross Colombia off my bucket list and be proud to say I survived without any MAJOR incident, but I'll get to that in my Sante Fe report. I can see why the real hotties want to go elsewhere since there's more money to be made outside of Colombia. The chica I was with in the mezzanine, quoted 100,000 mil for full service and I didn't even question it, since $35 bucks it what is was going to come out to, and I needed to ditch pesos, before I left the country.

I don't think I'll be returning to Bogota, but it does offer some cultural attractions and I'm sure at night, things pick up in the clubs, but quite frankly, I didn't want to deal with the unknowns, being a first time visitor.

Hope some of this is helpful and be safe in Colombia!

    Trip Report

Just returned from a first time week in Bogota. Primary purpose behind the trip was to meet up for a few days with a chica I met in SXM, that lives in Ibague, which is a 3 hour bus ride from Bogota. Needless to say, we did connect and had a fairly good time. I'll spare everyone the details. She did meet me at the airport and we did spend a few days together. It was all right, but I wanted to experience the other offerings of the city and ended up salvaging a final few days to myself. I'm going to present this in bullet point form as to the Pros and Cons of Bogota for my initial visit. Be forewarned that some of my comments reflect my OPINION and may not necessarily be what you think or have experienced, so take what I write for what it's worth and remember that everyone is entitled to an opinion.

    PRO's.

    - Upon entry into the country, El Dorado Airport's new International Terminal is quite impressive. Clean, state of the art, and probably the safest place in Colombia!

    - Citibank ATM right in the airport with English instructions and very good exchange rate. Contact your bank before leaving for Colombia and tell them you intend to use your ATM card in Colombia. Avoid using it for debit purchases though, since there are skimming / fraud problems that can happen.

    - Best bang for your buck right now is Colombia. Look up the dollar vs. Peso rate and you'll see why.

    - La Candaleria is a great tourist area. Oldest part of town, many cafes, restaurants and historical stuff to see.

    - If you want to earn some points from the man upstairs after all the debauchery you partake in, visit Monsterrat on a Sunday. Be gutsy like me and walk up the 3000 meter plus incline trail. Totally safe on a Sunday. Vendors along the way selling food and drink. 2 dollar Poker beer comes out to like 66 cents or something like that. Historical Church at the summit. Unbelievable view, vendors, food, real party atmosphere. If you want a picture of yourself and a llama, this is for you! LOL!

    - Centro area has great shopping. From high end / upscale stores to flea market type setups. I learned about the shopping from my novia.

    - Transmilnio Bus system is pretty good. My chica had a card and I loaded 10000 mil on it and off we went. Just keep everything in your front pockets, since the buses get packed.

    - This really isn't a pro, but more of an observation. The street signs are placed on the building at the corner of the Calle and Carrera intersection, so you have to kind of hunt them out to get your point of reference. Calles are streets running east to west, Carrerra's are avenues running north to south.

    - I stayed at the Abitaire 56 Hotel in the Chapinero area (Calle 56). My chica friend checked in with me and there was no problem or extra charge, since I made the reservation for 2 and all they asked for was to make a copy of her passport as they did mine.

OK. So for fear of losing all I've typed I'm going to post this and come back with the Con's of Bogota. Again, from my perspective.

    Clubs or bars

Are there places in Bogota that you can recommend where the atmosphere is casual and there is availability of semi-pros, students, or pros that are interested in being with foreigners.

    1) As has been said time and time again. Read the forum. Go back at least a year and a half since older posts beyond that may reference places that are no longer in business.

    2) Study World Travelers maps. Bogota is the third largest city in the America's and is quite spread out. You need to have a basic understanding of how the city is laid out and the grid of Calles vs. Carrerras.

    3) Go to your local library or Barnes and Noble and again, read up on the city regarding all the regular stuff it has to offer. Since you're being set up with a local, seems you'll have a built in tourist guide that should help with logistics.

You need some Spanish, especially if you're solo, but again with a local wingman, he should have your back. Bogota is a cosmopolitan city, but English is not the primary language. You're in Colombia, it's Espaol! Some of the more touristy spots I'd assume will have English signage and bilingual staff, but the local girls may not speak a lick of English, so you better cram in some basic Spanish phrases to get some common understanding going.

Again, you need to go back at least 50 pages in this forum and do your reading. After that, you may have a few unanswered questions still, but there are many informative posts that should give you an idea of what to expect once you arrive.
Thanks for the reply! Checked into my place on calle 53, so pretty close to you. Met up with the Colombian guy, pretty cool. We're going to hit up a spot later tonight, I'll let you know how it goes. Let me know if you want to link up after you arrive.

    The swinger scene

I'm living now in Colombia. I'm not a monger anymore, paying for sex seems ridiculous once you live here. I however missed the thrill of the underworld scene, started to investigate new areas and became swinger.

For those who have some experience of swinger in Europe or the US, here a couple of differences with the swinger scene in Colombia:

    - Nudity is not natural for Colombians. You will often see girls having sex with their pants on.

    - On average, people look better than the average swing public in Europe. Colombian women just take more care of themselves even when older.

    - Colombians need alcohol to lose their inhibition. In most clubs you are supposed to buy a bottle, not a glass of alcohol. At the beginning of the evening, most people have their clothes on and they take it of only once they are enough drunk, say midnight. Before midnight things go real slow in most clubs, you might even believe you are in the wrong place.

    - Colombians have no issue with race or origin, but with social difference yes. They need to know that they are fucking within their social class, therefor you have the clubs in the north for the upper scale and the clubs in the south of Bogota for the poorer social classes. As no one form the north even imagine going south, I know that there are some swing clubs in the south but have absolutely no info about them.

    - There are no condom dispensers in clubs, you can only buy them at the bar. Condoms are often forgotten in the heat of the action even with complete strangers.

    - Colombians hate to go out alone. When the clubs are open to man alone, there are lot less men alone than you might experience in Europe, which gives it of course a much better women / man ratio.

    - Swing is not natural for the Colombian macho, the vast majority of couples simply love to have sex in the middle of other couples, flirting a bit with the couples around but no real interchange of couples. There are swingers of course, but you have to find them in the crowd.

    - Those who are real swingers are in fact mostly not real couples, except elder couples. Most prefer to swing with a friend than with the real partner.

    - It is common to socialize and interchange phone numbers with other couples, mainly to be part of the swing network that organize private events in Fincas outside Bogota, but also to find a swinger buddy.

Here are the best clubs in Bogota:

Spa SW http://swingerbogota.com Carrera 14 #80-25 close to Andres DC in Zona T with parking right nextdoor. It's open from Wednesday till Saturday from 6 pm till 2. 30 pm. Only for couples. After 10 pm there is a cover of 60 000. You have to drink for a minimum of 100 000. Credit cards accepted.

The place is upscale, on the first floor a nightclub, on the second floor a huge Jacuzzi and very small sauna and on the last floor the action area with a couple of huge beds. There is nobody on Wednesday and Thursday, on Friday and Saturday it's packed.

Everybody comes before 10 pm because of the cover and is in the nightclub area, drinking and dancing with clothes on as in any other nightclub. On midnight there is a couple giving a strip-tease show and after the show everybody moves to the action room. At the the beginning it is a strange atmosphere, most people are still with clothes, very few having action, mostly with clothes while the others are watching. Later at night clothes are off (at least in underwear, as it is common for girls to have sex with underwear. It looks like a huge orgy, but it is not. Most are just having sex with their partner, being at a couple of cm from another couple having sex is enough thrill for most.

The Jacuzzi area although great is hardly used. Truth is that it is not very convenient, the dressing room is at the entrance of the club. Nobody wants to cross the night club full of dressed people with just a towel and sandals.

The place is not really my favorite, it's the typical upscale club with arrogant people from the higher class who believe they are cool and modern by visiting a swing club while they are in fact not real swingers. Other thing that borrows me, is that people throw their condoms and papers on the floor while a poor cleaning girl has to pick it up all night long.

Interspa www.intersw.com Carrera 18 #78-50, close to Unilago, at walking distance of Spa SW. Open Thursday till Saturday from 8 pm till 2. 30 am. On Thursday it's also for single men, the other days only for couples. Same price as Spa SW. Valet parking. Credit Cards accepted.

It's a very similar club to Spa SW, upscale with a huge nightclub on the first floor and the wet area and action area on the second floor. The Jacuzzi didn't work a while ago, not sure they have fixed it. Similar atmosphere, a normal nightclub till midnight, the striptease show and then everybody moving to the action room. Also similar public, not real swingers.

Europeo www.europeobar.com Carrera 76 # 16-20 Open Thursday till Saturday from 7 pm till 3 pm. Thursday is also for single men, the other days just couples. Parking is at 200 m for 15 000. Credit cards accepted. Entrance is 75 000 of what 40 000 for drinks.

Although it has been renewed recently, the place is way less upscale than the 2 others. What borrows me most is the ventilation problem and the smell of humidity from the wet area. But what is great here is that everybody first has to go to the locker area, leave the clothes and go for the typical towel / sandals. On the first floor there is a night club with an action room in a mezzanine and in the basement the wet area and an other action room. The sauna and hammam are great, the Jacuzzi just seems dirty.

But here it comes, it's simply the best swing atmosphere in town, here are the real swingers. People just don't wait the typical strip-tease show to go crazy, its genuine fun here. The night club has a great atmosphere, everybody dancing salsa or cumbia half naked, couples switching while dancing. When the strippers come, it's hard for them, the public is hotter than they are, and women try to [CodeWord123] the male stripper. I've seen here a wet tshirt contest, men with waterguns shooting the contestant girls and the rest of the public. In the jacuzzy, you will experience half a dozen of hands gripping your dick while you are masturbating two pussies on the same time. People have sex in the Jacuzzi without condom even with strangers. The action rooms are small, the couples are literally one on another. You can grab as much tits and asses as you want and yes here couples swing. If you are looking for unlimited sex, this is the place to be.

Zafiro www.zafirosclub-sw.com Calle 61 # 15-20. There is a parking lot in front. Open everyday from 2 pm till 2 am. However don't expect anything during the week, I guess it is simply used by couples as a cheaper alternative than the motels around as the club is in the middle of the lovemotels area. Entrance 35 000 on weekdays, 85 000 on week-ends open everyday also for single men.

It's by far the biggest club in area, but the facilities are really downscale, beyond my acceptable level. People have to change in towel sandals before entering, the social room is a great nightclub area, the hammam is great, also the sauna with a window to look at the action area, but the Jacuzzi is too cold. Actually, it's cold everywhere in the club, you just can't handle the temperature with just a towel. There are numerous rooms, all with glass doors to protect the couples from the single men I guess. Atmosphere can be great here, but I simply don't like the facilities to spend some time here.

Monastery Carrera 14 A 83-44 in the heart of la Zona T. Open from Thursday till Saturday from 7 pm till 2. 30 am. 75 000 entrance with 40 000 for drinks. Credit cards are not accepted. The closed Parking would be from the Carulla nearby. It used to call Bliss, then Tabu, was closed and has reopened since a month with a new management.

It is simply my preferred place, especially since they renewed it. Although it's small, it has simply the best facilities, on German FKK level. Same as Europeo, everybody has to change in the locker area. If men have the typical towel and sandals, girls receive clothes depending the theme: pijama party, Hawaiian party, nurse etc. Girls love the concept. The nightclub is small, the action area is much bigger and there is a great clean jacuzzy, a sauna and hammam. The atmosphere looks like the one of Europeo, people have great fun dancing half naked in interact easily as the place is very small. Swing is however not as common as in Europeo but you will always find a couple that is willing to swing.

    A few tips:

    - Even if there are clubs that open for single men, I simply don't recommend it. It's so easy to pick up a pro that is willing to escort you all night for 200 000 that it is no worth the frustration you feel being a single man in a swing couple, begging for sex, quarreling with the other single men for a peace of space.

    - If you go with a pro, I definitely recommend Europeo as you will find for sure a couple that is willing to swing.

    - Once you are in the club with your pro, try to spot the swing couples, and within the swing couple try to spot those who are not real couples. At the end of the night, when everybody is waiting at the entrance for a taxi, try to get o couple of phone numbers. There are always swing girls that are looking for a swing buddy to go to swing clubs.

    - If you have a novia or an amiguita willing to escort you but inexperienced in swing, bring her first to Monastery. It's by far the one with the best facilities and with the most educated people, not a hardcore swing atmosphere, but couples that like to experiment.

    Bogota restaurants

I met a girl online from barrio Galerias, she's a nurse, we and my buddy and his girl went to a tango restaurant last night. It was a good change of pace to see Tango close up.

The name of the place is Pena Esquina del tango. Best to get there by 9 for a good table and have time to eat before the show. BTW we all had the baby beef that was excellent and I think it was about 12 or 13 bucks for a very tender, nice size steak and fries and salad.

Sofia is a very average at best performer. She is one of the best looking ones there, more "hot" than cute or beautiful and she grabs your attention. But in the room, and yes very small room, she is just OK. In fact I'd say she's not worth it at all, but because she's very attractive it's what lured me in. Her body has some signs of wear, although she's 26. At least she says she is, and she has had two kids if I'm not mistaken. Trust me, there are a lot of better options at the Mezzanine.

So we finally get there the driver. I feel like I'm in California the way the houses are designed. Did have a guard at the beginning of the street and he gave me the keys. So the driver lets me out and says 75 k I say the receipt says 70 k, he also didn't have exact change. He states " propina voluntario" so he basically got a tip due to not having correct change. So to sum it up I didn't some tourist things and checked the city out a little since I only had 2 days there. I am impressed with the Transmillenio however a city of 8 million it can get tight in them buses. Now to the mongering. Thanks to WorldTravel69 as I posted on here for information regarding Zona Norte and he was quick to respond with some address. I found all and a couple were closed along Calle 15. The closed locations were 106-58 and 106-60. I didn't see where the entrance for the " massage " was at the Hotel Dan Carlton. I ended up going to 104-03 mezzanine 13. Had about 6-7 girls chose Sofia, prices are 60 k-HJ, 70 k-BJ,80-k FS all with massage. Paid upfront as well. The massage was ok, the sex was ok but I think the small rooms killed it for me. Take out is available as well since I got her number. I checked all the other mezzanines as well but looks like the same set up. Would I repeat maybe maybe not who knows. Bogota was sunny and light showers on and off throughout the day.

Charge was 70 k from airport to Batan area. On the way out I took a yellow cab and was like 27k peso. I needed to get where I needed to go so I didn't sweat it but knew it was a little high.

Nope. I had no idea that 1 g. Of coke was legal. I had not been there in thirty years and stopped using myself many years ago.

Nonetheless, Fiebre was a very happening place on a Saturday night. Next time, I think I'll try midweek.

I stayed in Chapinero at 55 con 10. Pussy House was a 5 minute walk.

While I was there, I was handed a number of cards for different houses in the area.

One was a no name at the same address as the old Lewinsky's, but I had no luck finding it open. It advertised chicas from 15 K and a lesbian show for 90 K.

I also checked out one called Sola Universitarias at Calle 61 No. 16-72 but, again, had no luck.

Others which I did not look for:

Masajes Relajantes, Atendido por Universitarias, Relax Total Calle 59 No. 10-19 Of. 201.

Odaliscas Spa, from 27 K, two chicas 34 K, Sauna and Jacuzzi, Domicilios Se recibe personal10 am To 8 pm Carrera 17, No. 53-26.

Yes, I understand. But do others? Hence the reason why I'm commenting. People act surprised and mention that they saw girls at a club snorting, and I'm curious how I'm supposed to use that information since whenever it is mentioned, it's generally geared towards the safety factor.
