With 1 stop round trip airfares from Podunk, USA to Bogota, at under $400, American Airlines seduced me into booking a trip. Looks like I will be going to Bogota December 1-10. With late arrival and early departure, I only have 8 days to do anything (2-9). Any special fiestas, celebrations that time of year?

I jumped on it when AA first put the route on sale 4 days ago, got mine for $280. Then this morning supposedly they cut the prices even further, but not for the time and dates I've already booked.

My trip won't be until early next year, but I started my research already. So far I've been using google street view to check out the Santa Fe neighborhood. Interesting stuff!!

Either I'm reading the addresses wrong or they don't exist. Instead what I found were pet shops and jewelry pawn shops on.

Avenida Caracas.

As for the no name? Bar, it was not found either. Just residential streets with a couple of stores.

Has anyone been to any of these 3 mentioned? Have they moved? Or closed?

I stayed at the Bogota casa Dann Carlton all last week. Great prices, and the elevator to my floor was near the front door, not the front desk. So it seems it s chica friendly. I had an Amiga with me all week, and registered her, but I could have brought up anyone. Only $100 per night for us both, great rate for a luxury hotel. Five minute taxi to park 93.

I would guess your experience at the Dann Carlton would be the same as any other 5 star place. If you register one girl and she is the only one that comes in and out with you then you will have zero problem. If you plan on having several different girls a day then you might have to choose something other than a 5 star. But the layout of the hotel can also help you out if you know that. For example at the W, if you enter through reception where you likely will have a girl arrive in taxi you have to get past the doorman, the reception desk and up one elevator, then go past another security guy and concierge desk for the 2nd set of elevators that take you to the rooms. HOWEVER, if you enter the W from the other side facing the mall and the courtyards you skip the doorman / reception desk and one security guy. On Friday night I had a very classy, well dressed girl arrive on first floor, no problem. I tipped the security guy on third floor though and we went to our room. The next night I had 3 very trashy hood rats with me that didn't belong within 100 m of the W. However we entered from the mall side and past the guard that I had tipped the night before and no problema.

All in all, a majority of the time in south america if you are discrete you will have no problems. I knew however my last night in town I was not going to be discrete at all hence the extra tipping and recon of an easier entrance.

I doubt there are many pros in either of these places. It is very upscale and a large percentage of the guys either had a sport coat or a shirt and tie at least in the bar between 6-8 pm. I felt a bit awkward in jeans and a t shirt. It was a great after work meet up place. I was waiting for a girl to come so we could go to dinner and sat next to a guy from panama that was doing the same. He was an international businessman maybe in his late 40's, dressed very nice. He was waiting for he said Miss Barranquilla 2012 who placed 2nd or 3rd in miss Colombia. I thought OK whatever. He wasn't joking, when she arrived she was a knockout.

The AU disco I went to on both Friday and Saturday night. Dress code is more casual than the bar but is still a very upscale disco. I didn't see any pros there. There are a shitload of girls though out with work friends. I saw several groups of 10-15 people where they were all sharing a bottle of something. I would say with some Spanish and some game one could hook up there with someone. I had girls with me both nights so didn't try.

Overall both the bar and disco are worth it if you are close to that area. Not sure I would travel across town though just for it.

Just returned from a week in Bogota and didn't have a problem at either place I stayed.

Chica Friendly hotels-.

I stayed first at Lloyds apartasuites Parque 93- was only about $65 and was a small apartment with actual separate bedroom so not a studio. Small kitchen but more than adequate for any type of cooking. Bathroom decent as well, free WiFi. Zero issues with bringing girls in. The desk would call me and say "senor, we have miss Alejandra here to see you". And then I would say send her up. Hotel is located near Parque 93 which has a lot of clubs and restaurants and is a good location IMO.

Second place I stayed at was the W hotel. I wanted to go big for the weekend and got one of their nicer rooms. I was a little worried about bringing a girl into a 5 star hotel. However I had zero problems. One of the reasons was the layout of the hotel. The official front entrance and lobby where you would pass the front desk can be avoided by going to another entrance that faces the shopping mall and other high rises in that area not as much security and no front desk personnel. The very good club and disco are located on the 3rd floor so not a problem to have a girl meet you in lobby and then say you are going to the disco and then later from there take the other elevators up to your room.

W is a great hotel, I was impressed and the girls from the barrio were speechless.

Thanks for responding. All the bars indicated between Calle 86 a and around Calle 80 are closed and indeed some have been replaced by cafes and restaurants as this zone upgrades itself.

Most of the massage places however are still open, so my day was actually quite fun filled and there is a rather dusky escort girl winging her way to my hotel right now.

I also took a look at some of the bars between Calle 90 and 100, but didn't sense there was anything still moving there.

Next time I hit town. I will look you up in advance.

I'll be there in a couple of weeks. Not sure if I'll have time to update due to work schedule, but I have been using google street view and have also noticed just from that, that there are a lot of new buildings going up where the knocking shops used to be.
