Rodeo 9112 maps are pretty useful but you need some information behind it ie first hand.

I went down to the strip on calle 67 with a line of puta houses just down from the love motels.Caracas and 67, and tried the first one walking down. There were four uglies to my amusement "other girls are busy senor? No gracias" and I tried the next one. Same story and the next and the next until I got to Julianas 2 which had 5 colombians in the waiting room ready for their Thursday night piece of action. Not going to wait an hour and see another selection of uglies assuming the bonitas are busy again? So had a walk around the block and tried another on the corner 2nd floor before the line of casas. Same story, more uglies. Now it could be true that was a busy night and all the bonitas were busy but the ratio of uglies just seemed to give me the impression that the standard isn't that good in that area unless of course you like uglies or have a paper bag handy. The only exception is Tatiana in Julianas 1 but I think she only works days and probbably goes off to the other clubs in the north at night. Ironicaly I had turned down a real cutie in El castillo when I popped in for half an hour around 7pm as she quoted me 90, 000 whcih seemed to be a gringo price. Also being my first time there didn't really connect with the place, more of a reconassiance mission I suppose. Think I'll try other clubs in the area probably La Piscina or Atunes. So far my impression is that while Santa Fe can be dodgy later on if you keep your wits about you should be okay and the talent can be as good as anywhere else. That said if you want more than 20 minutes then itll cost you around 180, 000 for an hour which is near to what you pay in the northern clubs. Yet to try some of the northern clubs mainly due to lack of wingman and excuse to stay out late at weekend without the wife hanging around.

If anybody is here for a while and wants to hang out at the weekend then send me a message as long as I can make a story stick to cover any suspicions about mongering.

Hello all,

I'm flying to Bogota tomorrow, I've browsed through some pages of this thread and I still have 2 questions:

1) Apparently Santa Fe is the area to visit to have fun. How is the security there ? It kind of concerns me, especially since I will be alone ... Of course I plan to go with nothing but the necessary cash and my clothes on. Is it safe during the day ? At night ? Is it ok to hail taxis, or is it better to have locals call them in advance ? etc ...

2) I plan to stay in Central Bogota/ La Candelaria, cos it's the touristic area and I'm a tourist. Could anyone recommend a good girl-friendly hotel there ? My budget is around 50/60 $ a night, and I'd wish to have nice clean rooms, with big bed, and i don't want the guy at the reception to be embarassing if I bring a girl (small extra fee is still ok though, I guess)

Week 3: Didn’t do anything but sleep on Sunday. You gotta have one of those days every now and then on these trips!

Monday I had set up to see Heidi again. I for one wasn’t satisfied with my performance and couldn’t leave her with the wrong impression. Week 2: Next night I hit up Juan Pablo’s again to get with Heidi and her friend Alejandra. Found out they were both from Medellin. Take note of the trend. I talked with them for about 45 minutes and they offered me 200, 000COP each, but, I had to get both of them. I really didn’t want to have the two because I’ve found that 3somes, no matter how well intentioned often leave a lot to be desired. Okay, so, here’s the first of 2 or 3 reports on my 3 week trip to Bogota. I figured I better break it up in order to make sure I don’t forget anything.

Be prepared! : In the lead up to the trip, on the advice of someone on this board, I started trolling Colombiancupid.com and Cybercupido.com. Both excellent sites, though, I’d argue the former seems to have a lot better bells and whistles and more quality selection than the latter. Colombiancupid.com is also English-speaker friendly. Anyway, you can read my last post on this thread regarding my methodology on narrowing down my selection there.

Situation: In Bogota for 3 weeks (2 wks business, 1 wk pleasure). Staying with 2 guys in apartment. I know one guy from work, don’t know the other. Don’t know if either is a monger. Apartment in vicinity of Zona Rosa. No one has a car.

Cell Phone: An absolute must to keep up with chicas if staying over a long period of time. Even if you’re only straight mongering (paying each time), you will inevitably run into a girl you want to see again and again. If you get her number, you can arrange her to visit you and skip any club exit fees (salidas). As it was, the phone that I had from last year did not work. It was functional in that it was still receiving the tower signal, but, I think since my minutes had run out or it hadn’t been active in so long it was discontinued. Went to a Comcel store in Andino Mall to try to get it activated, they said I needed to go to a technical service location to get that done. Didn’t feel like bothering with that, just used a cell phone from work which worked fine. No issues, but didn’t get it till my 3rd day on the ground, so, I couldn’t call any of the chicas whose numbers were in my phone from last time for 3 days.

Landline Phone: Okay, here’s something different: the string of numbers (I. E. 10 digits) that you dial on a cell phone are different than dialing a landline (7 digits). You have to dial 031 then the number to call a landline from a cell and my roomie says you need some kind of special subscription to be able to dial from a landline to a cell.

Long distance (back to the states): With obligations at home, I needed a way to call back to the US regularly without spending an arm and a leg (interesting how we’ll spend an arm and a leg on P4P, but whine over a few cents a minute for phone call). Got hipped to Yahoo Messenger, where for 1 cent per minute, you can call anywhere in the US (and I think other countries). You charge up the account with a min of 10 dollars, get your microphone/headphone headset for 8-10 dollars and you’re good to go, just type in the number into the address screen and hit enter and you’re dialing. Not a bad deal, just need an internet connection.

Last trip recap (posted Jul 27 07): I took a trip last year and everything was great! I had 6 chicas in 6 days. Nothing like the numbers you can post in DR, but, the prices are cheaper there too! I pretty much stayed only at Casanova’s (I called it La Piscina mistakenly) and Copacabana’s and I don’t think I spent over 200, 000 pesos for any one girl. I stayed in La Boheme Royal Hotel in Zona Rosa. I met one non-pro chica that I didn’t bone.

I thought that you know something of Spanish, for your previous reports from Panama and others latin places. That will be a problem, the chicas are accustomed to request more money to the foreigner, because they think that you distribute a lot of dollars, and the price negotiation for her services can be dificult.

If you are forced to stay near to the El Dorado Airport I suggest you take a look (www.ghl.com.co) the Hotel Sheraton(Calle 25B Av. El Dorado # 69C-80) or the Hotel Capital (Av. El Dorado # 69A-51). Both hotels are in the salitre area and next to the airport, American Embassy and Comercials Centers like Salitre Plaza and Gran Estación. But, like the friend DoloresThomas said this a dead area for playing.

The Raddison and Windsor are in the north area.

The Santafe area is more close to the Salitre area that the places that I suggested, but I think that to go to Santafe is bad idea if you go alone.

In any way you can go in taxi to Zona Rosa and visit that places.

In this moment I don't know a good and confindential guide.

When you choose your hotel, will look the best opcion for your shopping place.

You can visit the most reputable hotels/stores/travel agencies and a single dishonest employee can easily clone, copy or simply write down your credit card numbers. Hopefully, you will get money returned, but then you have the problems of your credit file being ruined.

When you are asked the question of credit or debit, select credit, because then you receive alot of protection due to consumer protection laws for credit cards, you do not receive the same protection when you select debit.

Another advantage of selecting debit for example when you visit a gas station is by selecting credit you are asked to enter your zip code, which is alot safer then selecting debit and entering your PIN number. If someone is able to get your PIN, they simply clone the card, and your cash is gone.

Prepaid Cards: A Smart Alternative to Credit Cards

A smart alternative to credit cards is a prepaid debit card with the VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logo. There are two types: Stored value debit cards that can be reloaded, and giftcards, which expire when the initial purchase value has been spent. These cards allow you to enjoy all the benefits of credit cards, without the typical drawbacks.

Some things cannot be bought with a prepaid card. You cannot use a prepaid card to pay for subscription services (i.e., recurring monthly bills such as cell phone service or gym club membership), for gambling in casinos, and for travel on cruise lines and some international airlines. I'm sure some of them do, but only a sadist would do so. Or someone who wishes to deal with card cloning and the like. Otherwise, stick with cash.

Some of the places you named are already clip joints. And taking anything more than a throwaway cell phone, the cash you plan to use, and a copy of your passport to Barrio Santa Fe (La Piscina/Castillo/etc), is so not advisable.

Stick to using credit cards in reputable places. At a minimum, hotels. At maximum, mall stores and supermarkets, where it is charged directly in front of you. Even with restaurants, you open yourself up to being cloned. Doesn't always happen, but sucks ass when it does.

In one night in May, a friend of mine only used his debit card once in Bogota, at the Citibank ATM in Zona Rosa, right in the Zona T. There were bank guards outside, as usual. Wouldn't you know it, his card got cloned and used a few more times. Who knows how it happened, but it did. His bank reimbursed him eventually, but goes to show.
