The freeway25 from the airport to Cali downtown is still closed by some protesters and the authorities do no seem to care.

I see that the Government seems to want to wait the protesters out since if they literally broke the barricades that would lead to bad press and more protests.

The Protesters lost the PR game when they opened "Humanitarian corridors" which means they are responsible for the shortages not the goverment. The wealthy and middle class areas are hardly affected even the lines at the gas stations are starting to dissipate.

My main point is if you already booked a trip and you'd have issues getting your deposit back I'd say you'd still have a good time. But having said that If you haven't pulled the trigger on a trip I'd go elsewhere at this point. There's still the curfews but the Government seemed to realize that this was a protest against covid restrictions as much as it was against the Taxes so in Cali believe me there's places open unofficially after the curfew.

He tried to take a trip East to Yumbo. But was blocked.

The Government is trying to stop the violence.

My ex girlfriend just lost her job at the clinic. She said they closed the part that she worked in. There is no transportation. No buses or collectivos, only taxis. There is almost no food and the food that is left has been marked up 3 times the normal price.

The Bus station is gone, turns out the city dropped their insurance so it's going to be a minute before any bus route is running. Cabbies are celebrating.

That being said in the wealthy areas there was a few shops hit and the gas station is periodically out of gas but other than that you can barely tell that there were riots here.
