I'll try to be in Cali around the 20th June.

I havn't booked any hotel yet and probley wont untill I arrive in the city, the Lonley Planet travel book that I'm reading recommends a few places.

I think what I'll do is just walk the streets at first, a bit of shopping, visit a few night spots ect

I think also I'll try a get a english speaking guide for a few days to show me around and introduce me to a few people.

What do you think antifreeze, do you think this is the way to go !!

I am from the North. The North and the south are almost 2 different cities for those who do not know. North is relatively residential and has la Avenida Sexta that is the nightlife magnet of Cali. I don't know much the south. It is like an untouched jewel that I discover little by little.

Can I ask you a question? What part of Cali do you stay in, How is the situation in the city as we speak. I'm definetly going to Cali this summer but I'm going to be on my own. I have some friends in Cali but I met them throught my exgirlfriend and I really don't even want her to know in going to be their. Also know some caleñas but I want something new, I might try a marriage agency. Any recommendations?

Also have you been to FLORESFRESCAS, is it still expensive? the last time I went there cover was 96.000 colombian pesos but if I'm not mistaken the most beatiful working girl in Cali. Still discovering underground Cali. I tried to get away from closed houses and give a try to other more bars type places. The result is so-so.

First, I've been at a nudist billard (women are nude, you keep your clothes). Women are good looking and playing pool with a nude woman is a pretty special experience. There is a cover charge of 3000 pesos ($1USD). The address is Carrera 28 #6-37. It is pretty close Roosevelt blvd in the south of Cali. Bottom line is that it is a special experience, but your left to jerk off when you've accumulated enough sexual pressure. Since I personaly do not like to see a nude woman that I can't touch, I will stay away from there. I did ask if one could go to a room, but never got a straight answer. So, I just left, most probably forever.

Later in the week, I've been to a place called Cristal Club (Calle 13 #72-25). This place is full of georgious women. There are times in your life when you meet a woman that is just too good to be true. There was one of those there. She had an ass that one could follow to Hell and boobs that just were the incarnation of perfection. I had to get to a room with her, and we did. What a fuckin crappy attitude she had. First, no conversation what so ever. Then, once in the room, showers (that's actually OK) and then goes ahead and puts 2 condom on my dick (not even erected). Turnas around and starts doing it. 1) The girsl that wants to get out of Colombia, whatever the price (and with whoever). She'll use you and throw you away when you'll have met your purpose. I've seen more relations fail with those kind of girls than any else.
2) Too much age difference and situation difference. Don't forget that if a girl is 30 down here, she probably still live with her mom and dad. They have a lot to learn when they hit the real life. Depending if you want to care for her or a team mate that actually supports you, you may want to look at that criteria.
3) English: all women will say that they speak English. But it's bullshit, they really don't. If you have the language barrier and the culture barrier, that accumulates. If you can at least drop the language barrier from there, then you're working towards a better chance of getting things right.

Bottom line, I think, is that if you find a girl that you feel good with and that cries because she doesn't want to leave Colombia and just does it because she likes you, then you hit the jack pot. Take a year to enjoy her and make sure there's no hidden defects and then start producing kids to do us all a favor.

I'm coming to South America the end of June and was just going to Rio, SP and BA in Arg but now after your post I'm coming to Cali.

In 1995 I met this girl in Hong Kong and we hit it of and she said she came from Cali and the most beautifull girls come from Cali in all South America, I beleived her then and after your post it just confirms it.

I've gotten the opportunity to travel to Cali several times once for a period of 3 month last year, I had a girlfriend that I met in Panama, she was from Cali blew me away until I set foot in Cali and saw so many females that looked as good or even better than my girl and like my girl friendly and approchable. I enjoyed Cali so much, I didn't want to leave when it came time for me to go back to the states. Almost got married in Cali but I was fucking around so much behind my girlfriend back that at one point she found out that I had fucked her cousin, its increadible all of her female cousins are so fucking beautiful and all of them treated me like a GOD, I often wonder if I could live in Cali. When I was in Cali I rented a aparthotel in a great neighborhood, it was right across the street from the casino of the intercontinental hotel, the name of the place was Rayda nice apartments it cost me 275 a month great service anything I wanted they would get, female friendly, cleaned my room every day even did my laundry, matter of fact the owner offer to sell me an apartment, about two blocks from Escocia a bar full of pros. a great place to pick up females. one of the reason why 'la semana santa' sucks so much is because their religion prevent them from opening their legs during that week. it's a bit special, but i spoke about that to a couple of ladies and they do follow that rule. that is, during the entire week they do not have sex. so the availability of ladies goes down dramaticaly and the ones that are available is not really that much of an experience. i'd believe that xmas will be different since it is the time of the year where they get wild during la feria.

here's a quick note about ladies in colombia. it is so much of a change from the us that it is just plain incredible that it is on the same planet. the ladies that you will meet in closed houses are extremely decent persons that, most of them, ended there by a series of misfortune of life. i met one which lost her husband in a moto accident (motorcycle is extremely dangerous here) and is left alone to take care of her kid. so she does that because she has to. there are many like that. the bottom line is that for a cali woman to prostitute herself, she needs less of a rupture with herself than for anywhere else i know. that is, sex is good and fun for them, and they do not throw this in the back alley of their mind. so, when times are difficult, they fall back on that. i met a lot of them that are student and do this part time in order to continue studying. treat them with respect since they are respectful person that handle their responsibilities what ever the price. showing them respect will often result in getting some extra on the job.

as for the women that are not in closed houses, it is also impressive. they are almost full time in the business of attracting men. they spend a fortune on clothes. they'll go ahead and get a boob job or fix anything that will end up giving them an advantage to get a man. i know many of my wife's friends that got boob and or nose jobs and are just drop dead georgious. i often walk on the street and cross a georgious woman that will look at me directly in my eyes (in the us she would probably spit her gum under my shoes before looking away really fast). i am so unused to this that i am the one looking away when that happens. silly me! i guess i'll need some time to get used to that. bottom line is that you are not a threat to them here, you are a treat. they will not only give you the time of the day, but will also give you all her time from her day.

so. there is a bit of everything for everyone in here. living in cali is a blast. cost of living is low, infrastructure is great (high speed internet, reliable electricity and more), and life is just more complete than in the boring states of america.

I was in Cali last year right before XMas. It was a blast, lots of fiestas on Avenida Sexta. I remember meeting a lot of chicas visiting from other cities in Colombia for the Cali Festival ... think it's spelled the 'ferria'.
Good time to be there. PFP scene was good too that week.
Easter week is different. It's the 'semana santa' which is more tranquilo.
