Posts: 414I wear shorts during the day
I wear them and never had any comments made. Maybe it is because I can speak the language and I am physically in shape. I always wear pants in the evening. During the day I am in shorts. I used to worry about that until one of my novias told me I should wear them because some of the young people are doing so there. Then again she liked my legs (LOL)

I am going to Cali in ten days. I will wear shorts at times during the day. But the locals tend not to wear shorts. I really don't care what people say how I dress I tend to tell them go fuck themselves and I have told serveral that every trip. It makes me stand out at times but I have been traveling to Colombia since the mid nineties when things were really bad and the others were still hiding under their bed.

Wear jeans. Shorts are a dead give away as a gringo. I never see younger people wearing them in the streets. No cowboy boots or fake Rolexs either.

I have a question for the Cali regulars. Do Caleņos wear shorts? I've been to Bogota, but its climate isn't exactly "shorts" weather. Obviously, nice jeans or slacks and a collared shirt are appropriate for nightclubs and restaurants, but what about during the day? Cali is a hot city and I would prefer not to be uncomfortable during the day. Prior to a trip to BA, I read that men don't wear shorts in Argentina. After burning up in the 90 degree heat for 7 days in the heart of summer in long pants while the Porteņo after Porteņo walked by in shorts, I learned not to believe what I read on general travel websites.
Thanks

I brought it up if anyone stayed there lately. Someone second the question and it ignited. I have stayed at the Intercontinental Cali and the Raddison but I want to be near ave sexta for a change. That and I like staying in Hotels over apartments because the "oppurtunities" that present themselves from time to time. "Cheap Charlie"No Dogs your not one. I have met a few on my journeys though. But thats a whole different catagory; we can go on for weeks. LOL

There you go Justafool. Mister high class has explained it to you. Get your information from us unwashed frugal cheap 'charlies" and you will be fine.
And your spot on about being targeted for being a gringo throwing money around.
Oh I can tell you where you can get a good " cheap charllie " breakfast on avenida sexta also. Or a excellent " cheap charlie" burger with fries in Barrio San fernando also. And you can be a " master cheap charlie" be having your chica make you dinner, in the confines of your apartment, maybe grab a bottle of chilean wine in the store also, oh yes dinner for two for about 30,000 pesos.

Amen
Do I really need to show off to pay Senorita Piper too Pipe?
I rather be Cheap Charlies then the tonto Gringo who will show off by paying three time what the locals would pay.
Does one think they are really repected for the $$ passed out. Cheap Charlie is respected more as long as he respects who you are macking.
Shell out the bucks but all you will get is laid not respected. Gringo in Colombia mean Green $$$$ and when you go they will not care; you go leave the green behind.

Some guys who go on vacation dig the luxury hotels, others, like myself actually, don't mind doing without all the amenities.
I'd just rather spend on other things and don't need fancy schmancy.
Good luck amigos

Thanks for the post I have to check out Maximo the next time I am in town which will be soon.
I have come to realize that most place have no AC, of the various places I have gone to they usually only provide a fan. At least with the super hot room the cold shower does not seem that bad. No hot water in Cali in any of the Casas I have visited, not even Dr. Love.

Didn't have alot of free time to play but I did have a moment for a qucik run over to "Maximo" from the Cali List provided. I went over in the early evening jsut getting dark out. Super easy to find. Sat down music went on and they brought out each girl one by one. Maybe 12 to choose from. Most we not good enough to consider and a few not sure if anybody would ever do them. However, there were 4 to consider. The first two were by far the best. Kinda wish I picked the first girl but I went for the second, her name was Vanessa.
Got hosed on the price. They charged me 80, 000 for the hour. The list states 65, 000 I think. Tried to say something. But figured it was not worth it. My spanish sucks.
Vanessa was fairly accomadating and pleasant enough. Nice cbj, a bit short for my taste. But typical. Made the mistake of bringing my own. Has a lube on it. Had to switch out later on for a locall one without. Slightly better service in that department then.
Had some real good hip twisting that really did the job. Had some difficulty half way through that killed my. Ummm excitement. It was just hot in that place. One littel swinging fan but I got so hot in the room it just wore me out. Thankfully, we decided to switch to the local jimmy for some more cbj I cooled down a bit and finished up the job in short order rcg. Definitely, good.
It was convienient. And she was great and fun. Shower afterward and multiple pops but it was just too hot for me to go for a 2nd helping. I'd definitley reccomend it. But if you spanish it not good. Make sure you don't get upsold by the door guy. And if you want air conditining. Stay away. For me. It's a deal breaker.

Posts: 65Enough of this "cc" stuff already!
For a change, news on some girls most of you might find interesting. This week in Cali I got (solid) notice that some of the famous website LP girls are the same working girls featured in some of the aforementioned webpages.
Even though they are shown charging up to a million COP for evening service, apparently these prices are only for suckers.
Both extremes ("ccs" and suckers) are, I believe, gross to the healthy sportsman, who is generally able to get this upscale material at much more convenient prices.
On the other hand, Cali seems to be pretty much dead these days, due to religious festivities (semana santa). Most bars are closed, and streets and restaurants are quite empty.
I hope a future trip I plan on the near future gets to be much more exciting; maybe in late may or early june. No news of el Castilo, mentioned in this forum, by the way...
