Can anyone provide info on getting good salsa lessons in Cali? Preferably with a hot calena who is, lets say, morally flexible when it comes to one night stands. That said, would like something in a formal setting, like a studio or club. Thanks in advance for the info.

Thanks for the information guys. Ill report back before too long and let you know what I stir up. I plan on hitting a variety of set establishments, but when I get buzzed later at night I always prefer to attempt to find a freelancer.

Anyone have any luck with freelancers on Avenida Sexta?

I saw a news article that this area was turning into the new red light district.

In my trips to Cali the Sexta WAS the happening place for Salsa and for everything else. Over the years it has deteriorated that most of the clubs that once attracted the crowds have closed down. Business has also been drying up for the sex workers in this area. Many trannies have taken over their territory so if you monger here you better do a voice check or a crocodile check before you get take out.

I still have the contact numbers for a couple of the girls that work these streets if you want a safe adventure at a reasonable price.

That would be my question. The next question, why would you walk that close to a guy on a motorcycle? Followed by, what were you focused on that allowed a guy on a motorcycle to get close enough to tug on your shirt?

Your chances of being robbed go way up when you're not aware of your surroundings. If you're aware that someone is paying too much attention to you, or is trying to get too close, you can usually avoid the situation. Unless your phone is on fire, keep it in your pocket.

Beware to all. I was walking around 12:30 pm when I felt a tug on my shirt. A guy jumped off his motorcycle and held a knife and told me to give him my cell. He had a female companion with him.

I gave him the cell and he took off. I hadn't been in Cali in 8 years and alot has changed. Not the bargain it was before and it seemed like the places I used to go to have really gone down hill and are not worth going. I will give a full report later as I am still in Cali minus a cel phone but alive.

Didn't get up to much today. I hiked my way across Cali to Bar La 20 (Viente) #1, Calle 20 #7-42. The streets were quiet as it's Sunday. I'm thinking that those streets would be a little funkier at night time but during the day, I'd be unlucky to have to deal with trouble. Bar La 20 was quiet when I got there. But over the course of the afternoon, it filled up both with customers and chicas. Bloody seats were damned uncomfortable but beer was cheap. I think a Club Colombia was 3500.

In fairness, there was a great selection of chicas and they were not bad looking. I guess my libido is slowing down or something (maybe I've just been spoilt!) . Didn't really bite but looking at fine women never gets old. I suppose whilst they were fine, when the work in that environment, they're going to be a bit cold. It's just the nature of it. That's why a good casa can be so much better.

(Colombian) La Liga was on so fellas watching that, drinking beer and chatting with the chicas. There didn't seem to be a lot of business getting done but I guess that's the nature of Sunday afternoons.

Got into Cali a couple of days ago. Staying in Miraflores / South Cali. Good area. Visited Adorables Chicas en Fantasias #2, Carrera 23 #9 e-91. About 10 girls. They were ok-ish. None of them floated my boat apart from one. A girl from Pereira. She was great. Spent an hour with her. Came back the next day at around 2 pm but they only had one girl on. I asked for Pereira girl but she said she was sleeping and woke her up. She had a bad sore throat / laryngitis but was still going to spend time with me. I told her to go back to sleep and left. Felt bad about the idea of making her work whilst she was sick.

Went to Karens Linda Chicas. . I certainly didn't find any of them Linda! Worse still, they lacked so much enthusiasm in lining up. Many of them didn't even give me their name!. I just told the guy I wasn't interested and left.

On Saturday night, went to a regular Salsa place. But got bored and up and left. Hailed a taxi and asked him to bring me to the chicas. I have no earthly clue where he brought me. But there were two 'bars' -big places packed with hombres. There was also a fair selection of chicas. But it looked very industrial to me. Just didn't excite me. I went outside for a bit. During which time there was a loud 'bang'! From inside. The girls moved as if it was a gunshot. Someone went inside to investigate but either it wasn't OR it was but of no consequence.

Either way, I got the impression it has happened in there before at some stage!

I was well oiled. Not exactly a successful night out. But certainly different and interesting in a different type of way. Was time to finish up before I ended up getting myself in bother so jumped into a taxi and back to my hotel.

Anyone know of a strip club in Cali where you can have a few beers and watch the girls strip. Or where they will do a private 'show' for you (like in Santa Fe clubs in Bogota)?

Anyone have any comments about heading to Cali for the salsa festival vs going back to Medellin or Bogota?

I've been to la Feria twice and it's a fantastic experience. Even more so if you are into Salsa / Cuban music. The City is full of energy almost like Carnaval. Everybody is ready to party and non pros can be gotten if you're reasonably young and fun-loving (although obviously pros are also available).

You can see one or more big acts every night. I've seen Sonora Poncena, El Gran Combo, LOS Van Van, LOS Hermos Lebron, Grupo Niche and many more. Just a fantastic time.

Note that that week (between Christmas and New Year's) is dead in almost every part of Colombia except Cali where it's the opposite.

Sorry to reply so late. You have probably come and gone by now but for others, try the Intercontinental Hotel. I had no hassles there. I actually prefer to register the girl (I think a registered girl is slightly less likely to steal), but bringing girls in here was effortless.

Hi everyone! I am looking to visit Cali for the first time in August for approximately two weeks. I've checked the Cali forum and Cali Lists and found lots of good stuff to help me. I've got some ladies lined up to meet from various sites and apps, knowing that probably at least half will flake once I am actually there.

The one piece of information I am still hoping for seems hard to find. What are the chica friendly hotels? It seems Cali Plaza Hotel is. At least according to a December 2015 post. Are there others?

I'd like to have company without getting gouged for extra fees or having to parade the lady past security.

Any help appreciated. If anyone here goes to Lima, I can offer to help as I've spent over a year there over 3 visits since 2014.
