Got it and that qualification makes sense. I enjoy Medellin more than Cali, but that's probably because I go there more as a 'working vacation' with nice weather, dinner / drinks with longtime friends, and opportunity to improve my Spanish (bucket list) as opposed to just mongering. I'm generally a 1 girl a day type of guy and while the mongering is an important part of the trip I equally value being in a city I find interesting.

From a girl perspective I find Cali more challenging to navigate, but the girls more passionate.

Exactly, If I had to come to Colombia for business or plesaure but not for mongering per se I'd head to Medellin. Meddy has more american stuff to buy, more to do, better weather, better infrastructure, a vibrant expat community etc.

But it's more expensive for everything in Meddy, way more dangerous for the average (not expeirenced) Monger and actually a little too much like america in general for my tastes.

Cali is way harder for the non expeienced non Spanish fluent monger to navigate. But once you crack the code Cali is excellent, They girls are more passionate less entitled and less flaky than Meddy chicas.

Cali is on par with Santo Domingo chica wise except that Cali is cheaper for everything with better infrastucture.

The only caveat is if your a hardcore streetmeat fan then Meddy is slighty better for that but again far more dangerous, I taken many mongers out to Cali's Centro at night checking out the street scene with nary a problem. Try doing that at plaza botero at night.

Returning from Cali I took a flight through Bogota. I couldn't believe the number of group of American guys and couples I seen at the airport. We were all flying into Orlando.

You would have thought the flight was a trip from Atlanta to Miami with the number of us Americans on the flight. I said to myself wow Bogota is popular. It's obviously popular for a reason.

The couples are people doing medical tourism and coming from the dentist in Cali, Cartagena, and Medellin. The guys are coming from mongering in Cartagena and Medellin.

Excuse me for jumping in but, I share his same sentiments. I've been to Medellin four times prior COVID. I've been to Cali three times within the last year or two. Enuff said. But I honestly think we are in the Minority in our viewpoint.

Returning from Cali I took a flight through Bogota. I couldn't believe the number of group of American guys and couples I seen at the airport. We were all flying into Orlando.

That being said Mongering spots rise and they fall when the prices start to get outrageous smart mongers move on.

While I can definitely understand the rise of Cartagena; I think Cali has nothing to worry about. It's like Bud Lime. Some may like it others may just stick to Budweiser.

Cali is the perfect balance between cheap women and and cheap cost of living. Trust me There's tons of places that would be excellent monger destinations if they had the money to improve their infrastucture and convert some potential hoodlums and brigands to cops and waiters. That requires gringo dollars either in foriegn aid or from the gringo monger stimulus plan.

Had a Repeat come in from last time I was here. When I met her at the door I forgot how gorgeous she was. Sa asserts he has a artistic child. The last time I bought clothes for her daughter. This time I brought her a few more items for her daughter.

Medellin is an excellent example of that.

I get that but again post COVID it doesn't seem like all the sex workers can be sustained by the locals.

Any African Monger would tell you that Africa as a whole is Heaven and that Madegascar is paradise, But there's no infrastructure at all in Mada. So a 5th world place is great for pussy but not good for living.

Actually, Cali used to be the Colombia go to place for mongering, marriage agencies, etc.

Before Medellin became popular, Cali was the place to go in Colombia.

I'm talking the late 90's and early 2000's.

Avenida Sexta was a party scene, full of street girls, some girly bars and brothels.

Medellin was a dangerous city with military checkpoints going down the hill from Rio Negro to the city.

Frequent gunfire on the hills of Medellin.

A gringo was hardly ever seen, except for dummies like me, LOL.

All that has changed now obviously.

That makes sense because of the vast amounts of casas all over the city. It would seem like there couldn't be that much of a demand.

Coupled with the fact that it is probably the Salsa capital of the world and the gateway to the Pacific I can see that.

Yeah, that's what I've heard from old timers. It was primarily Rio back then (HELP), San Jose, CR, and then Cali for the more adventurous. Medellin wasn't really considered remotely safe for gringos until the late 2000's and then just Poblado. Those checkpoints existed for a long time and I've heard a handful of stories from guys who were around back then having to pay 'fees / bribes' to get to the airport. Disguising themselves so they appeared more like locals, etc.

Had my stomach x-rayed at Cali airport once, they thought I was a drug mule because travelling alone.

Yes, Cali had Flora Frescas, Dr. Love and Pharaon back in the 1990's. And many matrimonial agencies.

Cali suburb Cuidad Jardin had a couple. Latin Connections was one, they sold a lifetime membership for $2,000. They fizzled out when the FARC died down and women no longer were motivated to leave Colombia.
