All I know about Cali is that there is Dr Amor somewhere.

What is recommended day time activity, and most usual place to go on night time?

I will try to read forum reports, but not so much time anymore

Dr. Amor is far and away the best casa in Cali, maybe even Colombia. Great selection of chicas to choose from. Followed by Caras Lindas, Calle 17N bet Ave. 5 and 6. I didn't think too much of the others that I went to.

Bar La Veinte (Calle 20 close to Carrera 8 on the South side) has a large selection in a bar setting. Rooms upstairs. Price 40K for half hour. Streetwalkers in front of short time hotels on Carrera 8 bet Calle 15-19.

As Mr. Enternational said, at night on Ave. 6. Lots of night clubs, doing salsa dancing.

Really Dr Amor is all you need to know, in addition to the great intel that Bayboy has put up in his last few posts. Daily activity? Mall. Place to go at night? Avenida 6, but only on weekends. Do you speak Spanish? Do not expect to just pick up Colombianas if you go out partying. They go out in groups of friends, not alone like North Americans. They will dance with you a few minutes then they will go back to their group. Someone PMed me a couple of days ago saying they will spend 12 days in Cali. I told them good luck. 2 days (3 max) is about all I can put up with and that includes hanging out with regular girlfriends and not hookers. With 12 days I would recommend doing a full tour of Colombia hitting all of the hot spots.

Senhores! Flying ticket to Cali now bought for tomorrow, hotel Nevada reserved for three nights from booking. Com.

And plans to travel to Buenaventura forgotten.

You are correct. I can't stop from thinking Buenaventura is in Choco because they are very similar culturally.

Actually this was kind of lucky mistake since Choco and Quibdo are also places I would like to travel. So best forgot that town also.

Choquibtown music group are from there, and that female singer Goya is so beautiful. I met in Bogota one black girl from there who had a perfect body and nice face, unfortunately she is working in Cartagena and was just visiting in Bogota.

So both Buanaventura and Quibdo would be kind of paradise for guys who like black girls, except Farc would kidnap you after one day.

Better just meet these girls in the main towns.

I would suggest the Cali Plaza hotel ($65). US owned, close to Ave. Sexta. Or Hotel Nevada ($30-40) about a block away, budget, small rooms, no English spoken.

I've never been to Buenaventura. Heard it was a port city. Supposed to be a dangerous place.

My last trip to Cali in Sept. I found some short time hotels on Carrera 7 where just about all the working girls were black. Bet Calle 15 to 19.

I hate to have to correct you, but Buenaventura is actually in the department of Valle de Cauca, NOT Choco. And it is actually just a few hours drive from Cali.

You must be confusing Buenaventura with Quibdo, which is actually the capital of the department of Choco. Since you seemed to be confused as to which city you were in, I would agree that both are very, very dangerous, with probably Quibdo being moreso due to the high presence of FARC in the deparment of Choco. There are some stunning black women in Choco. Many move to work in Bogota, and I have met some there over the years.

Wouldn't advise going to Choco (state where Buenaventura is). It will take you a few days to get there from Cali. It's a VERY underdeveloped area. Sort of the forgotten.

Area of Colombia. It you had time and had security, it might be worth it. Of if you were into Afro-Latin Music which I am. It's way over 80% African descent.

Cali does indeed have a higher Afro-Colombian population that MDE and even Cartagena. However, you will need to get out of Grenada, Penon, Sexta areas to see this and meet.

Lots of darker girls. It's more dangerous than MDE or Cartagena, but if you take the typical precautions, you should be OK. Buenaventura on the other hand is really dangerous. Only.

Two places I've been seriously frightened in S. American are Buenaventura and Caracas.

I need advice of hotels in Cali.

I know many Cali working girls in Bogota, I have asked them, but they don't know anything about this kind of night life in Cali, when they visit there they are good girls and only with family and friends.

I have read recent reports of Cali Reports and Cali lists, two hotels are mentioned, The Windsor Hotel and Apart Hotel del Rio.

Del Rio seems to be near some action places (I don't know anything about Cali) , so I was thinking about trying to get reservation from there. For Windsor hotel you can make reservation from internet (for Rio no) , but Windsor seems to be very full.

Any other recommendations?

I would stay away from Buenaventura if I were you. Only go there if you know a girl that lives there and can keep an eye on you. Not a place for a foreigner to be running around by himself looking for black girls. Not safe.

Cali is a good bet. Much more black girls in the south of the city though. Just depends how you plan on meeting them.

BTW, I read this book about the Cali Cartel last year.

It is a very entertaining book. Those who know Cali will enjoy reading it.
