Can any of the Cali vets tell me if Cali will be busy and full of gringos with hotels booked up over the thanksgiving holidays? That looks to be the case in Medellin, so I'm doing Medellin the week after thanksgiving. But trying to decide if I should make my first trip to Cali on thanksgiving 24th thru 30th, or end my Colombia trip with a few days in Cali around Dec 7th thru 12th.
Thanks.

Yes it was Valentina as CarasLindas. Dr. Amor's was a big let down! Re Scotiabank, as I was corrected by another poster, they did not buy Davienda.
I read in Oct in a canuck newspaper that they bot "Dav" but it was Colpatria. My own Scotiabank confirmed that. Salud

Posts: 3Yes thats 750k for one month only, hot water, no internet.
Edificio Hipocampus, calle 20 AN 6. 34 (barrio santa Monica)
Severals appartments to rent, they belong to different and independant owners, so I don't think you can book anything online, just come and ask to the doorman if something is available.
I m paying the rent to a travel agency, I don't even know the owner, maybe the apartement belong to a friend of the agency staff, and its probably not declared if you see what I mean. But they give me invoice when I ask.
Now what you can do is to book for a few days a private room (around 10 euros / night) here http://www.pelicanlarrycali.com/, this hostel is neighbor with my building, I m using their wifi, and then visiting the city and looking for an apartement in the meantime. Much better than booking expensive apartments online without visiting them.

750k for the appartment : one room with big bed and cable TV, one living room with a sofa cama and open kitchen.
The price for one day is 90k. 750k for one month. I just pay 750k every month in a agency, the guy trusted me from the first second, didn't want to check my passeport and gave the key straight. I paid 4 days after I moved in. Maybe I ve been lucky.
But you can find cheaper and better in the south (san fernando) and you give the proof you have a job here.

I bet the 9. 5 was Valentina. To get a private striptease you have to buy a beer beetween 10k and 15k, girafe costs 25k with 2 strips included.
Dr amor for an hour : from 47k to 92k. Don't take Angela.
I m renting a 2 furnished rooms (Cable TV but no internet) for 750k on av 6 and calle 20, thats the average price for this area. You can check on the newspaper el Pais or ask directly to the security of buildings

Scotiabank didn`t bought Davivienda, it bought Colpatria, which has less ATMs.

Day 3 in Cali, staying in a hotel on Av 6 and Calle 15, only 2 blocks to Caras Lindas! Mid afternoon both days about 5 chicas free. 65k to 80k an hr, beautiful 19 yr old spinner was 80k and a 9. 5 looks and a 9. 5 spinner body. Cerveza 5k, her beer con sel 12k, they don't push the beer, I asked if she would like one. Great walkabout area, I sure don't miss the MDE open holes in the sidewalks in el centro. My first time in Cali, very impressed with cleanliest of the area surrounding, walked thru a gas station on the way to check out the local Hooters today and even the area beside gas pumps painted grey and spotlessly clean, I have never seen gas station so clean anywhere! Tomorrow off to see the doctor, Dr Amor"s that is and check out the 20-25 chicas I have read about on this forum. Does anybody have any info about renting here for a month? Would appreciate any feedback.
Confirming another post that 720k from Davivienda Bancos, sure beats the 400k from most others. Note to any others from Kanuckistan, last year and now I always have some problems with Scotiabank debit cards, TDB never a problem. Scotiabank last year no go at bancocolombia, only worked at santadar of which there were very few in MDE. Scotiabank just bot Davivienda effective this dec, so hopefully that will change. Scotiabank all over Peru and no atm charges, I saw 3 branches in 5 blocks in Lima, its also the go to card in DR also, with local Scotiabanks there.
