Nobody is paying for a room in Colombia unless it is outside the club, I. E. A love motel. And nobody is paying 114 k for that.

If this happens to you anywhere tell them your not paying for a room, and if they continue decline the service.

In Escoces they used to tell foreigners there are no rooms on site so they could get a take out fee.

I landed in Cali on December 17th and flew out on the 28th. In between, I had 9 visits to various establishments, which I'll outline below. All were satisfactory, with some places much different in nature than others.

First, an overview of the city and other background info.

Safety. I walked around 100 km during my 10 days there, possibly more, throughout the neighborhoods to the north of the river, as well as northwest and west, plus extensive wandering around the neighborhoods south of the main central market area. Encountered no problems, 1-2 times a young man gave me a look or said something, but zero hassles and no physical problems encountered at any time. After 2-3 days, I felt completely comfortable going wherever I wanted, I always carried my phone and took a ton of pictures all over the city with it; never lost anything, never got robbed, never got threatened by anyone. All good. Keep your eyes open, be alert and attentive to your surroundings, of course, but I wouldn't anticipate anything nefarious occurring.

Hotels / Airbnb. I didn't stay in an Airbnb primarily because I just like hotels. I stayed at the NH Bulevard del Rio for the first 7 nights, then the Sonesta Cali for the last 3 nights due to the massive cost difference for those 3 nights at the NH. If I were returning for a short trip, I'd just stay at the NH. I like the area around the Bulevar del Rio, lots of good restaurants, nice to walk along the river to take in the sights and the people, lots of activity.

Spanish. Mine is very decent, not native / not fluent, but more than good enough for getting around and having nice conversations with anyone I needed to. After the first 2-3 days shock of having to use it all the time, it improves markedly as the brain realizes you don't have a choice. If you don't know any, you could still get around, but it will be more difficult. Some will be much better than none.

Cash. I have a Revolut account, and they do not charge any fees for withdrawing money at foreign ATMs. It also is a debit card, if you care to use it that way. I did all my withdrawals at the BBVA ATMs around town as they did not have any surcharge either. You can only take out $300 k COP per transaction, but you can do 2-3 transactions, if you choose, no cost. My average COP to USD was about $4,750 COP per USD, which at the time was 98-99% of what Google was showing as the spot conversion rate.

Traffic while on foot. Crossing the major road intersections is a bit tricky, only because the lights that indicate stop for the cars are positioned behind the crosswalk, so you can't really see what stage the light is in. Usually, I tried to eyeball it before getting to the intersection, but if I didn't get a good look, I just winged it and scooted across the road when an opening presented itself. Be careful for the motorcycles, as they will weave in and out of the cars and busses and you can't always determine which way they're going or intend to go. Generally, not a problem.

Ok, finally. Sessions:

Caras Lindas - 3 visits total, every 2-3 days during the trip - 1 very good, 2 great. Location is exactly as described. There's a SMALL sign, that says Caras Lindas, near to the street and it is right next door to the barbershop / beauty salon. Walking in, there's a curtain, they frisk you for weapons (I assume), you take a seat at the long black couch along the right wall. The woman calls out to the girls to come out, and they slowly make their way out, introduce themselves to you individually, then take their position in the line. The woman has the girls do a turn to have them show you their backsides, and then they turn around again and you make your choice from the lineup. The upstairs rooms are clean, I had each of the 3 girls in a separate room. They removed the sheets after each visit, you can shower (the girls showered before and after) so all in all a nice location. I'd put it at number 2, after Dr. Amor, which I'll address later.

Visit 1 - From the lineup, chose Catalina. Very good, super friendly and talkative, her body just like the pictures on the website, nice massage, good oral skills, and since I was ready, after some coaxing due to 14 hours of travel exhaustion, cowgirl position took care of business. Visit 3 - Cataleya. Wow! - Pictures are spot on, but do not convey just how small she is. She's probably under 5 feet, or maybe right at it. With tiny hands and feet, very, very cute and very nice. I paid for an hour, since it was one of my last visits for the trip and wanted to enjoy it. About 1 PM, not sure if they had a special or what, but total was $150 k, including a tip to her of $50 k or $36 ish USD. Cataleya was just so sweet, it was delightful. After we finished, we had probably 20-25 minutes left, so we just snuggled and she fell asleep! So adorable listening to her rhythmic breathing while she slept.

Bar La Veinte (Bar La 20) - what I'd describe as a cantina. Guy frisks you at the front door, you walk in, get a beer or other drink either at the windows or from a server, take a seat wherever you feel most comfortable and just watch the girls walk around. Lots of tables with guys drinking beers, occasionally talking to the girls, but mostly just hanging out. I really liked this place from the standpoint of stopping in during the hot afternoon, getting a beer or three and cooling off before choosing a girl and taking her upstairs.

I went 2 times, different times of the day. Once in the mid-afternoon, once around 6 PM and stayed till 9 PM. Good fun both times.

Visit 1 - Juliana. Cute girl, probably a 6, but she was "working", in terms of she approached me, was very flirtatious, touched me in various places to let me know what she had in mind, had a beer with me, chit chatted, then said, "let's go get it on" and I thought. So all in - $190 k, including the taxi for about 5 hours of entertainment. I spend way more for way less at the strip clubs here!

San Sonero. Literally on the other side of the same exact block that Bar La Veinte is on. Another cantina. Same setup, slightly higher prices, but not by much. If you're looking for girls who dance sexy to whatever horrible music is playing, will drink a beer with you, shoot the breeze, talk dirty in your ear, and then you go and get the deed done for about $25 USD, you can't go wrong with either Bar La 20 or San Sonero. I liked them both, for exactly that reason.

Visit 1 - only visit. Sofia - a very sexy woman (another MILF), "operada" in terms of butt and breasts, but well done, soft over the implants, so all good. Of all the girls, and because I'd only had 1 Africana / Colombiana to this point, I chose the most beautiful one I'd seen during the trip this far, Perla. The perla negra! At least that's the case for me. And I learned that, for me at least, I have the best sessions with 1 of 2 types of girls: the hate fuck, where I dislike her so much, that the session is great, like Scarlet at Escoces, or the girls are so sweet, so GFE and in tune with me, that it's almost like being with a girlfriend (Tatiana and Cataleya from Caras Lindas as personal examples).

Replied to your PM. On this trip stayed at Spiwak and Spiwak Spirito (both no issues bringing in girls. Just need ID). Also stayed at Park V Hotel. Same policy just needs ID although they are a smaller hotel and a bit more strict as far as registering every person that comes in / out.

Spiwak Spirito is a great value due to location / security / rooms. Buffet breakfast everyday was very nice as well.

Hi all,

I landed in Cali on December 17th and flew out on the 28th. In between, I had 9 visits to various establishments, which I'll outline below. All were satisfactory, with some places much different in nature than others.

First, an overview of the city and other background info.

Safety. I walked around 100 km during my 10 days there, possibly more, throughout the neighborhoods to the north of the river, as well as northwest and west, plus extensive wandering around the neighborhoods south of the main central market area. Encountered no problems, 1-2 times a young man gave me a look or said something, but zero hassles and no physical problems encountered at any time. After 2-3 days, I felt completely comfortable going wherever I wanted, I always carried my phone and took a ton of pictures all over the city with it; never lost anything, never got robbed, never got threatened by anyone. All good. Keep your eyes open, be alert and attentive to your surroundings, of course, but I wouldn't anticipate anything nefarious occurring.

Hotels / Airbnb. I didn't stay in an Airbnb primarily because I just like hotels. I stayed at the NH Bulevard del Rio for the first 7 nights, then the Sonesta Cali for the last 3 nights due to the massive cost difference for those 3 nights at the NH. If I were returning for a short trip, I'd just stay at the NH. I like the area around the Bulevar del Rio, lots of good restaurants, nice to walk along the river to take in the sights and the people, lots of activity.

Spanish. Mine is very decent, not native / not fluent, but more than good enough for getting around and having nice conversations with anyone I needed to. After the first 2-3 days shock of having to use it all the time, it improves markedly as the brain realizes you don't have a choice. If you don't know any, you could still get around, but it will be more difficult. Some will be much better than none.

Cash. I have a Revolut account, and they do not charge any fees for withdrawing money at foreign ATMs. It also is a debit card, if you care to use it that way. I did all my withdrawals at the BBVA ATMs around town as they did not have any surcharge either. You can only take out $300 k COP per transaction, but you can do 2-3 transactions, if you choose, no cost. My average COP to USD was about $4,750 COP per USD, which at the time was 98-99% of what Google was showing as the spot conversion rate.

Traffic while on foot. Crossing the major road intersections is a bit tricky, only because the lights that indicate stop for the cars are positioned behind the crosswalk, so you can't really see what stage the light is in. Usually, I tried to eyeball it before getting to the intersection, but if I didn't get a good look, I just winged it and scooted across the road when an opening presented itself. Be careful for the motorcycles, as they will weave in and out of the cars and busses and you can't always determine which way they're going or intend to go. Generally, not a problem.

Ok, finally. Sessions:

Caras Lindas - 3 visits total, every 2-3 days during the trip - 1 very good, 2 great. Location is exactly as described. There's a SMALL sign, that says Caras Lindas, near to the street and it is right next door to the barbershop / beauty salon. Walking in, there's a curtain, they frisk you for weapons (I assume), you take a seat at the long black couch along the right wall. The woman calls out to the girls to come out, and they slowly make their way out, introduce themselves to you individually, then take their position in the line. About 1 PM, not sure if they had a special or what, but total was $150 k, including a tip to her of $50 k or $36 ish USD. Cataleya was just so sweet, it was delightful. Bar La Veinte (Bar La 20) - what I'd describe as a cantina. Thanks for this information. I'm staying at 2 hotels in el centro (just because I wanted to stay at 2 places, see how they are), both close to the Bulevar del Rio, so I also planned on walking the river walking path. Been watching quite a few videos on YouTube by WalkingAround, which give a nice feel for how things are in Cali. That channel mostly has Cali, but also videos for other cities in Colombia.

Looking forward to exploring the city, in between "visits."

Nomars, Trip would know better than anyone but I walked around a lot. When I was on the roads, no one bothered me. Cali has a river that runs through it. I stayed at the Marriott and walked down to the river and then walked the river sidewalk (about 20 minutes or so) until I hit Dr. Amor. For the most part, I was not hassled. There were some homeless folks living near the river close to Dr. Amor who I avoided who may have asked for cash, but that was it. Granted, this was in early 2021. Still, the only people I heard the whole time I was there speaking English were in Dr. Amor, so maybe the people there are not that used to hitting up tourists per se. I heard English everywhere in Medellin.

FWIW, I saw a ton of people in scrubs. I am not sure if Cali is a health care or plastic surgery mecca but there were a lot of people in health care..
