Yes, I agree with your assessment of Cali.

The cheap end of the market is very well represented with the different casas and SWs. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a girl that really does it for you, but rarely would she be classy or the complete package. And the facilities of these places are basic.

The high-end places are not so great, you pay premium prices and often get a girl with a not so great attitude.

If you want a medium priced experience with a great looking girl, this is hard to find in Cali. I am certain it can be done, if you make some local contacts and put the word out for anyone who knows prepago girls (semi pros). I have never been in Cali long enough to do this, but I am sure they're out there... you just need to work for it a bit.

In case that you need a map of Cali, you will be told to go to a branch of Librería Nacional. There, you will find a very basic and untreated (non-plastified) map of not very good quality for COP 18K. Too much, I think.

Today, I found many street vendors in Downtown's Plaza Caicedo selling similar maps for COP 3K.

Hi, guys.

Third day was spent with non-pro action. I knew this girl through the latin Match.com. Without any doubt, she is very hot, very smart and has a strong personality. She drove me to Jamandi, where I tasted the cholado (kind of fruity icecream with condensed milk and pieces of fruit, another surrealistic experience here), showed me the nice neighborhoods of the city (especially Ciudad Jardín), brought me to her home (pretty brave from her part...) and had a very romantic dinner at the artsy San Antonio neighborhood, eating Colombain food with a landscape of the city as a background.

A 2-3 hour tour around Downtown and neighboring places is more than enough to see most of the touristic attractions of metropolitan Cali.

On the afternoon, I visited 4 casas.

- Clínica del Doctor Amor. It is located at Avenida 2N #23-XX. It is the house next to the corner with a parking lot with green fabrics covering the fence (actually, the parking lot belongs to them). Inside, I saw a patio with 6-8 sofas where guys waited for the girls. They introduced themselves with a handshake. As of the owners, there were 15 girls. I saw 10-12, so the number is believable. Most of them I think are 4-7s, kind of good Dolly's material in BA. Didn't ask for prices and left. Open until 8 PM. So far, as a places as a whole, it was the best.

Good news: I saw a kind of upgraded facility being built (workers coming and going with tools), so they may have all-new and acceptable facilities in the short term.

- Lo Maximo: Same address as in the Cali sheet. The palce was a dump, with only 4 girls, sleepy and wearing flip-flops, as if they just finished siesta. I was told that they have a crew from 6 PM to 6 AM, to come later.

- Avenida 2Bis N #28-57: Advertised at the Sunday edition of El Pais. Another dump, with only very young 3 girls, of which one may be a 6-7. Left immediately.

- Calle 23AN #2N-95: This place, also advertised at El Pais, looked much cleaner and professional than the previous ones. They showed me 6 girls, most between 5-7 from my scale. One of the 7s is Cristal, a tall paisa girl with OK body and very nice face. I chose her, prices being COP 35K for 30 minutes and COP 45 for 1 hour.

VERY good experience. I asked her a BBBJ for a tip, which she pleasantly agreed being the tip "at my will". What a hell of a BBBJTC! She really deep-throated. After the pop, she engaged in a nice conversation. Great!


Overall, I can say that the casas scene of Cali ressembles that of BA: Cheap girls, cheap prices, more suitable for a quickie than for services of long hours.

I may visit Escocés at night, just to see the ambience.

You are right, Ricker. it´s too much money. However, I don´t mind to overpay very seldom if the situation forces me to do so.

If I had been very familiar with Cali before coming, I would have dared to stroll for SW the very first day of my arrival or go for the good clubs, but I didn´t want to take the risk, even asking taxistas who usually aren´t very much concerned about your security as they are with the commissions they may get.

Overpayment should be a very important concern of us, but security comes first, especially if it is your first trip to Colombia. Now I know what La Sexta looks like and would dare to look for pussy there.

Hi, guys.

Yesterday, I visited other areas of Cali, some of them very nice and others very sketchy. Since there are many neighborhoods to visit, I cannot judge it very seriously. However, from the start it is clear that in average the city is poor and with not many options in terms of entertainment related to arts and in terms of turism. Not a place to live long term.

For those who went to Costa Rica, most of Cali looks like downtown San José, with few areas ressembling Escazú. Cars are parked everywhere, ofter on the sidewalks, houses and buildings are completely fenced (I didn´t see many windows without bars) and police officers bear machine guns in front of every institution that may hold money.

In terms of transportation, the city looks like Santiago de Chile. Lots of small buses painted with colours, wreaking havoc at any hour on the main arteries. Since its a valley surrounded by mountains, the city also has much smog as Santiago. Even with a clear sky it is difficult to see the whole city on the high points. As in most of Latin America, traffic is chaotic and noisy, not to mention reckless drivers.

Of course, not all areas are that bad. Granada, on the north of the city, is way much cleaner and looks like Palermo Hollywood in Buenos Aires, with lots of trendy restaurants, fashion stores and art shops. On the other hand, la olla de Cali, close to downtown (Carrera 10 to 15) are definitely to avoid.

ChipiChape and Unicentro.

Yesterday, I went to these malls to check out the girls. Perhaps it was a bad day, or perhaps I´m too picky, but I didn´t see many gorgeous girls. Let´s say 20 very attractive girls in Chipi and 10 in Unicentro, half of them in couples. There were a few sweeties going on two (two girls alone, I mean), and half a dozen average girls strolling the mall alone, which I deemed approachable (some look at you, in fact).

I won´t say that these malls don´t have nice girls since I had only one visit, but for what understood in other reports, I didn´t see tons of beautiful girls.

Non-pro action

I had my first date with a girl who I met in an Internet site. We went to a very good restaurant in Granada area, called Platillos Voladores (Avenida 9 and Calle 12N or so). They serve a nice selection of Thai-Latin fusion food. It wasn´t cheap (COP 130K, including everything), but it was worth.

My girl was not a bombshell, but not ugly either, just a nice girl a little chubby. We had a great time. My experience with Internet girls is that if you are charming and do not push for sex, things flow smoothly. This case wasn´t the exception and she was VERY passionate.

Like I referred to in a recent previous post here, these chicas seriously laugh at the gringos that pay these inflated prices ... I'm not putting you down, just want you to know that there are better options out there.

When you go to ESCOCES ... sit and bond with a chica ... buy her 1 drink ... (I think Red Bull is the most expensive there ... if she orders that, beware) ... pay the salida, I think 40K CP ... and take her out.
I've never talked price with the chica (for her cut) ... not in recent history anyway.
In my experience, when a chica starts talking about plata (money), she's too professional for me and I move on. I pay her according to her level of service, GFE, sweetness, etc. I'm not a cheap-bastard ... I just pay accordingly.

I do this in just about every place I visit also, ... yes, you may lose some chicas, but I figure the experience would have probably been sub-par anyway.

This is for take out service obviously. When you visit a casa/reservado for in-house service, the price is fixed.

Hi, guys.

I arrived in Cali yesterday night. After a time consuming process at the airport (20 min immigration, 20 min baggage claim, 10 min Customs search), I met Víctor, the taxi driver assigned by my hotel (Apartahotel Del Rio).

I expect to write a longer description of the city tomorrow. So far, I can say that Cali ressembles a mixture of the outskirts of Buenos Aies and northern Argentina: Disorganized, dirty, smogy, with a lot of police presence and a mountain-city arrangement but laid-back and attractive in some way. Zona Norte looks like a middle-class suburb of Buenos Aires.

Apartahotel Del Rio is OK so far (www.apartahoteldelrio.com). The basic room costs me COP 95K (roughly USD 1 = COP 2.6K), and has decent furniture (nothing to rave about) and appliances. Personnel was very helpful. They helped me arrange a cell phone rental with Víctor, which costs me COP 10K per day. Maybe I can find cheaper nearby, but it´s OK for me.

Bed is OK, good enough for me but maybe not for those Searly Posturpedic freaks. The bathroom was renovated, although it only has a shower bud (no way to regulate the water temp before taking the shower).

The only serious drawback for the hotel is the street noise, and I was told that the transportation works forced traffic to pass across that corner in order to cross the Cali river. I coped with it buying today earplugs, because there were no other basic rooms available facing the back street.

The other alternative that I considered was Cora Apartasuites (www.coraapartasuites.com), which costed roughly the same and is located in a more upscale and quiet neighborhood, but... no air conditioning for the basic rooms.

On to the action.

I was very enthousiasted to visit the clubs after months reading this forum. I started with Club Escocés, taking a cab to drive me to the Intercontinental (COP 4K). Since the Cali sheet says "Avenida Colombia and Calle 7A", I looked for 7A street, but I couldn´t find it. I walked around and asked for it, but no luck. Being close to 11PM, I decided to move on and visited the club next to Faraon (Avenida 2N 23N-65).

No price to enter and only COP 2K the soda. To my dismay, I found the 7-10 girls there on the 4-7 range, being the 7 a very nice blonde who I expect to visit later during the week. Most girls looked like the low tier of the boliches at Flores in Buenos Aires, either being too much uneducated, too pushy, big bellied or plainful ugly. Just for the info, I was told that prices for girls are COP 40K for 30 min and COP 50 K for the hour. Closes at 2 AM.

Left the place to go to next-door Faraon. Although having a better setup, girls were even uglier than before, with a total crew of 12-15! COP 3K the soda.

Close to midnight, I wondered if Cali was such a dump in terms of chicas quality. To confirm so, I decided to visit the infamous Flores Frescas. COP 15K the entrance, not including drinks. From the outside, it looks pretty lame, and not much better on the inside. COP 2K the soda. However, girls were several notches above the others, but not much better than what you would will find at Madahos in BA, and unfortunately with similar attitudes. I would say that all girls were doable (20 or so, most wearing street outfits with jeans, high heels and tops), but prices quoted for me were COP 150K for 30 min and COP 240K for 1 hour, so nothing to be taken very lightly.

I saw 2 very nice ladies who I wanted to talk. While deciding, a bombshell appeared. She is a 20 y/o brunette called Natalia. Has very big boobs, cute face, a nice formed butt and an hourglass figure. Only drawback is that she weares brakes.

Went into negotiation. I asked about BBBJ, and she refused but counteroffered a tip for that, and she quoted 350K for 30 min. I told her I had only COP 200K for that (including tip), she said 200 plus 30 for the room, I kept in my COP 200K. She accepted without regret, so it was a good sign. I paid to a guy and we went to the room, which looks like a room at Affaire Pueyrredon in Buenos Aires but better cleaned.

Natalia has a nice skin and a very shy attitude (not bad, just aloft). Her body is very well toned (too strong, in fact), her tits are fake and her butt look like being worked every day in the gym. Her BJ skills were acceptable, nothing to rave. She accepted several positions for sex, not rushing at all.

For what I read for Cali, I clearly overpaid, but my choices for the first night were very slim at such an advanced hour. Some guys recommended me to visit casas during the day and avoid clubs, and that is what I will do from now on.

Tomorrow, I will refer to the ChipiChape and Unicentro visits, and maybe to my non-pro action of today.

Escoses: best place I could find in Cali. Resembles a bit a Rio therma.
Also the only place in Cali where I felt completly secure. The quality top segment of the chicas is 7.5. Girls were very nice and sweet. What a change and what a surpise! Only bad thing is that they serve no beer.
I do recommend Kathy. Very nice, sweet and enthousiastic girl. She was very enthousiastic and performed beyond the calls of duty.
Prices were fair: For one hour P$ 40,000 (US$ 18) for the house and P$ 110,000 (US$ 48) for the girl for one hour. By the way: I am a gringo and I can speak some spanish. I did bargain a little.

Flores Frescas: some kind of combination of nightclub/casa.
Looks a bit better then the normal casas but still a bit dodgy. Quality of the top-segment of the chicas: 7.0.
At about 10:30 pm they have a nice show in which all the chicas go topless. After that there is a lesbian dildo show. Entrance: P$ 15,000 (US$ 7).
Prices for the chicas: 0.5 hour P$ 130,000 (US$ 57), 1.0 hour P$ 180,000 (US$ 80), to take to your hotel: P$ 60,000 (US$ 26) for the house and P$ 150,000 - 200,000 (US$ 65 - 88) for the chica.
I found that the chicas in Flores Frescas had an attitude problem. Like: "you are lucky you may fuck me". Beside that these prices are way too high. So my answer was NO.

I've had great times in ESCOCES ... but speaking Spanish is essential ... bonding with a chica and taking her out of the place is much better.

More than several of the chicas that work there tell me that a lot of the GRINGOS that visit the club are dorks, speak no spanish and its very easy to charge them mucha plata (money).

Anyway ... good place to bond with chicas ... I've had fun there.

Please remember most places in Cali thier is no cost seeing the honeys. When im in cali I would hit 4 -9 casas. Go inside waiter would ask me what I would want to drink. Tell him let me see the merchandice first. If you see something you like then ask for a drink and bring her over. If your getting a good vibe par take in some activites if not you can always leave.

I've never had any luck at Club Escoces, but I don't think there's a cover, so it wouldn't hurt to stop by for a drink.

If you're flying into Cali, I'd recommend hitting an ATM at the airport. It's probably one of the safest places to get cash at night. Exit the baggage claim area and go outside, then head to the right and you'll see a large staircase going up. There are several ATM's at that level.

I will arrive to my hotel at Zona Norte around 10 PM this Friday. My idea is to check the non-pro action and then the pro establishments (I'm fluent in Spanish).

Given that this is my first visit to Cali, I won't adventure the very first night outside Granada/Versalles/Juanambú.

What non-pro places do you recommend for Friday/Saturday? Casa de la Cerveza, London Bar, Tienda Vieja?

What clubs/casas would be open late these nights (around 1 AM)? It seems that Flores Frescas went downhill. What about Club Escocés?

Is there a reasonably safe ATM area where to draw money late at night? I will ask the driver assigned to pick me up, but prefer to hear other options.
