Surf, I do not disagree with you about the short-term visitors. However, they do not really affect my life in Laguito. I rarely go to the LDV anymore. The vast majority of visitors to Laguito are still Colombians. I manage to find many more non- or semi-pros who would never go to LDV than I can handle. And I'm a fat, old guy. I do like to hang out and speak English on occasion though. My Spanish still sucks.

The Italians in Cartagena are generally known as cheap bastards. Many chicas do not like them. The Israelis are young and have no money. They expect to supply the coke and fuck for free.

LDV is a paradigm as Laguito was the first artea of Colombia to get lots of foreign sex tourists (thanks to TSM). As more and more foreigners go there with pockets of pesos and no experience bargaining, the higher the regular price will become and the frequency of GFE will diminish.

The Italians way overpay in CTG and are worse in many ways than the gringos, who don't know how to blend in and think they are in the Hotel del rey in Costa Rica, and just act stupid. Don't know much about the Israeli's in CTG or Cali. The main reason's I avoid CR are 1) The overpriced and mercenary chicas, 2) Too many loud stupid gringos....

Colombian society is very homogenious. Cartagena is about as close to heterogenious as you can get in Colombia. But if your objective is to get away from Americans and/or American culture, try Bolivia or maybe Tibet. You certainly don't want to come to Laguito. There are actually more Israelis and Italians in Cartagena than Americans.

The pace of change will move as the pace of change moves.

you are in denial if you think that TSMtravel did not accelerate the gringoization of Cartagena. You like living there among the constantly increasing numbers of gringos, and more power to you. But NOT everyone who loves Colombia shares your prefernces. Some want to get away from American culture and Americans and prefer to associate with Colombianos in a culture that is not so homogenous.

Sadly, becuase of sites like ISG and TSM, it is getting harder and harder to accomplish this. You want to believe there are no "secrets" left? Then I say, GREAT! You are correct. It does not get any better than Laguito or Poblado so no reason to go explore elsewhere.

I get a chuckle out of the "don't let the word out about your Shangrila" guys. Whether or not you post anything on any forum, if the place is that good, the word will get out.

There are actually three certainties in life: death, taxes, and change. My Colombia will change. Some of those changes will be good and others will not. But those changes will come despite any efforts on my part, and despite what anyone posts or does not post on this or any other public board.

Keep your secrets if you choose. It matters not one whit to me or to posterity.

Poor quality and thick (think of covering it with a water ballooon). ALWAYS bring an ample supply of Japanese condoms. I like Beyond7 and Crown microthin the best. Also bring Astroglide (they use petroluem based KY jelly in Colombia-yuk!).

I was just reading Aussie Greg's thread about guys paying 150K per hour, 300K for attending a party. It aint just Cartagena anymore! I balk at the Sexta street girls asking 50K per hour because the locals are NOT paying more than 30 or 40K per hour!

While Colombianas still blow doors on most other Latinas, prices and attitudes are inexorably changing (for the worse). It won't be that long before Cali is no better than San Jose or Santo Domingo. ): Time to seek out greener pastures.

By the by, does ANYBODY still doubt that posting about how great a place is on public internet sites (like this one) is the kiss of death? Call me paranoid, call me selfish, call me arrogant if you will, but one thing you CANNOT call me is "incorrect". I have also ran into th white Panhandler, right in front of the 24 pharmacy on the sexta, I think he said he was from San Diego? He startled me because I was with my novia and getting some raincoats, damm i hate those "Today Colombian condoms but I ran out of my KIMONOS and this was before my Novia got a cervical cap installed. And all of a sudden he busts out "man, you got some spare change bro" I thought I was back in Miami. Sucks.

My girlfriend only has fat friends because all the non-fat ex-friends she had in her life ended-up being jealous. She's so hot that no competition is allowed (although she states that they ended-up being jealous for nothing). While she has fat friends, they think that they can end-up with the left-overs.

I look forward to see you here in Pereira. I have no remorse of coming here. The paysa is way more civilized than the Caleño. I live the dream here. The finca is coming to life little by little (with the help of much energy and spending). My girlfriend is not only hot, but she knows about living on a finca. Her knowledge on animals and plants impresses me much. She wants me to buy her 50 chicken (that I will). $50, that if you take care of well transforms into $250 after 45 days. That doesn't seem to be a bad deal to me.

Great guys, both of them. And you're right when you say that Cali is far from untouched. I also ran into that white guy panhandling. Sounded like an american accent to me. Lots of agencies operating in that town bringing in the gringos. I might have to take Freeze up on his offer to visit with him in Pereira. And there's always Cuba, but it's been more than a year since I've been there..... too many hassles.

Hey, you see with these chicas and how I got MY novia, is I play REVERSE psycology with them. First we go to Unicentro or ChipeChape and I bait them, by offering to by them something from STUDIOF. Ricker.... too funny! But you're absolutely right! Once I realize that some chica is just milking me, I'm gone. And fast! I'll take a girl out to dinner at a cheap, typical colombian restaurant and if she seems perturbed that we're not dining in higher style I know where I stand.

I'm already looking for cheap flights to Cali or MDE. It's not going to happen next week though. I just spoke with Freeze yesterday. I'd certainly like to make a visit to Pereira. He says it's nice there.

Oh yeah, as you know I did run into your novia on her way to school. She said hi to me and for a moment there I couldn't remember where I knew her from. The mall, a bar.....? If one of these Colombianas dig you for real ... they may window shop ... but they won't allow you to spend much money at the mall when they know they can get the same clothing / stuff elsewhere ... el Centro ... much cheaper.

Good test for them though.

I once left a chica in Caracas in the store (for Rob Hay ... in SAMBIL) ... after she picked out a few hundred dollars worth of clothes and called me over to pay ... I gave her cab money to get home and I split ... fast ... I hate that shit.
I dump them fast if they're like that ..... NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is what I think.
