Sorry to hear that Master Monger, but it's not worth the hassle. I was in Cali and had a similar exp, and you're NOT going to get a refund, I certainly didn't. I guess, that the risk we take when we pay upfront. On top of that, the chica STOLE my camera(i only found out AFTER she left my room). Anyway, just chalk it up to cost of learning the ropes. From now on I would be VERY cautious about paying up front no matter WHAT the girl or the manager/pimp said, especially when you take them off site.

Master Monger, I wasn't there and don't know what happened. But I have known Rigo for a while now, and have seen him in various situations, and I have never seen him be scared.

I think that what Rigo was trying to tell you is that it wasn't worth the time, effort and risk to push the issue farther.

Ultimately what could you hope for, a complete or partial refund of your $180-200,000 pesos. How much trouble and effort would it take, and, if the bosses believe the girls story, then what? No matter how safe you might feel in a particular part of Cali, remember that ultimately life is cheap in Colombia and their version of law and order is not what you are used to.

Ultimately, shit happens move on and enjoy the rest of your trip. Don't let one bad girl or one bad experience form your opinion of an entire city. Let it go and experience and enjoy Cali.

    Fuck,

Thats the LAST thing I wanted to hear Master. As I can testify Master is a COOL guy, SO im just you just got "screwed" by the chica. Anyone, that has any experience with hobbying knows bullshit like that happens ALL to often. But in the end what can you do?? There are PLENTY chicas to go around in Cali. Anyhow, keep us updated. As I told you when you were in Panama I am real interested to see how you like Cali (once its over)

    Hey Fellow Mongers,

Well I am in Cali, and so far I am a little sad because I went to Kaliente last night and I got a very hot girl (I have lots of pictures) I took her back to my room in San Fernando Hostal and she was horrible.
I asked her in spanish if kissing was ok, if slow and romantic was ok, if MAMAR SIN CONDON was ok and she said yes to everything before. When we got to my place it was a different story altogether. She was horrible and I had paid for three hours and after one time she said no more :-(. So I recorded her saying that with my Camera / Digital recorder and threatened to tell her boss.
That is when she got really nasty and got dressed and went to the front gate and rang the bell alot waking up poor Rigo. When Rigo came out I told him to first listen to my recording and what had happened. When he went to talk to the girl she LIED, LIED, LIED, and said some bullshit that I was rough and started to fake cry. Rigo changed his tune to her side because I think he was a little afraid and he told me I should just forget about it because, QUOTE "People get killed around here in a minute."

Guys I am a really nice, honest guy and I have had 2 girls come out of the Del Rey in Costa Rica with me for free, as well as they all know I am a sweet guy, in fact on two other occasions girls would not take my money when we were finished from the Del Rey. This girl was bullshit and I need some pep talks from you guys to make me feel better about Cali.

Also anyone who wants to hook up here in Cali please send me a PM.

    Thanks Guys,

    Travieso

P.S. Where is the GOOD cheap food? And anyone know of a Furnished Apartment for rent?

Just got back from Cali. For the most part it was all of the usual suspects in all the usual places. I did find one new place Bar Escoces Cra. 1a No. 1-47 Oeste 893-3456. Very nice set up, around 20 girls most in their mid 20's to early 30's. $40,000 house fee and whatever deal you make with the ladies.

Again I stayed at the Hostel San Fernando. www.calihotel.com. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owner Rigo. He goes out of his way to make sure his guests have a good time and it feels more like you're staying with a friend than at a hotel. Especially if you don't know the city it is a great place to stay.

    Master Monger,

I congratulate you with your pick. The Calenas and the paisa girls are certainly Colombias finest AZZ you can have!!!!:-)

Just go to a local travel agency (I do hope you speak spanish...lol) and book an inland ticket with Avianca or Aerospeciale and you will do just fine.

There is NO need to pay 250 bucks......My guess would be arround 70 bucks (one trip) Cali-Medellin. If you are in low season you even can book monday morning and fly monday afternoon..! No problema. December-January, July-August and semana santa (Easter) are HIGH SEASON.......!
Also watch out for local banc holidays.....which are MANY in Colombia.

In Cali are many salsa schools...were you even can have a GFE.....or maybe better??
GO to these schools and you will get LAID for sure......!! That is if you are out for NON-PRO action;-)

Have fun and enjoy the women AND the food;-)

    Guys,

Whats up! I dont post here as I post in the New York section as it it there that I live. Nontheless I am posting here now because I will be traveling to Colombia for a vaction on Oct. 8-17 and was wondering how can a typical young Puerto Rican kid from NYC get to mongering in another city let alone another part of the WORLD! Is it the same? Is it cheaper because of the Currency rates? What clubs are hot and how is life over in cali?

I will be staying at a friends house and am getting a ride here and there but assume i will be on foot patrol for most of my trip.
Can i get any tips, and also will I be on a milkbox back home or is it pretty safe?

Guys your love is apprecitated in advanced!

    Master Monger,

Never buy a plane ticket for internal Colombia flight from the US. Go into any travel agency in Colombia, and you'll get the same plane ticket for about $60-$70. There's only a gringo to give you a gringo price, Colombians in general don't do that in Cali (with the exception of extremely isolated event).

    Take care,

    Freeze

    Dear Fellow Mongers,

I am coming to Colombia and I want to spend one month in Cali and One month in Medellin.

HERE is my dilema, it appears the only way to travel between Cali and Medellin is by plane (safetly) but I am encountering a round-trip price off the internet of about $250.

Please someone tell me where and how to make this journey more affordably, $250 is just crazy.

    Please help me,

    Master Monger

    Leo,
    re
"Not many here would call it a joke, I mean, it's just not funny.

Regarding ATMs, BofA has waived all ATM surcharges for each of my three trips to Colombia.

Just call them in advance of any trip, ask where their ATMs are in Colombia, and when they tell you they have none, request that they document the record or your account with notes of the discussion and that you will request all fees to be reversed as they have no support for you in Colombia. I am charged $2/withdrawl but when I call they credit my account in whole."

If you have a BofA Visa debit card, there are 140 Visa Plus network ATMs in Cali, Colombia. BofA does not charge for ATM withdrawals from those ATMs.

    From a BofA FAQ:

What are the fees for using an ATM? Bank of America customers can withdraw cash with their Bank of America Check Card or ATM Card without a fee at nearly 13,000 Bank of America ATMs in the United States and at over 12,000 international ATMs operated by members of the Global ATM Alliance

I don't have a lot to offer from my recent travel, as I had no opportunity to hobby. But I will offer some updates on various city info.

I still love the Plaza Las Americas. Corporate rate for double occupancy is 107.000, including room service fixed plan breakfast and no charge for local landline calls. Pool is due to open in January.

I visited a room at the CoraSuites, on Av 9N 17N-31, 667-6021 or 667-8414. I found it not nearly as nice as PLA, but the price is much lower at 80-something.000.

There is a dive shop named Aqua Buzos in Versailles neighborhood, Calle 24N 5BN-57, 667-1600. The proprietor is Diego Alfredo Hurtado O'Byrne, and he is very knowledgable on scuba in Colombia (Gorgonia, San Andrés, Providencia, Caribbean coast).

Hey Freeze, I do know chupanalgas and I think your remarks were right on.

Sheesh, again for my learning-impaired friends, THAT WAS A JOKE, YOU CAN LAUGH NOW!!!

    Senor Freeze ...

Very well put sir ... I'll tell you what, I spend about half the month in S. America ... Colombia (Medellin) and Venezuela and I can't wait to when I can do it full time.

What you said about people in Colombia that make very little $$ but are content and happy versus the dude making big $$ in the US but is miserable is right on ...

As for guys that don't appreciate your posts or any other informative post here ... who cares? I usually hastily scan their silly remarks and chalk it up to "just another moron" and I could care less ... they are very easy to ignore.

    Take care.

    Chuponalgas,

Isn' t your time too precious to post something like your last post (Yeah, anyone know where I can save 10 cents on ATM fees, LOL?)??? I tought you were all too busy for things that you judged unimportant.

I am in the boring states of America (upstate Vermont) and I truly wonder how they reproduce up here. I miss my girls in Colombia. Seriously, I end up thinking a lot about Melissa from FF, Andrea and Paulina. I don't know if I can be saved and start thinking about my wife a bit more? On the other hand, I do have better ATM support up here (LOL Chuponalgas and other mongers that are way too busy to read posts that are judged irrelevant, but not anymore when the time comes to post insignificant ones).

While Chuponalgas laughs loudly at me with ATM issues, I live the dream down in Colombia by addressing issues such as this one. I've seen more people happy making 100$/month in Colombia that I've seen people happy making $100K/year in the States. Chuponalgas may be one of these persons that truly would want a life like the one I have in Colombia, but with not enough balls to go and get it. I don't know Chuponalgas, but it seems compatible with the character of these people that often trivialize accomplishment or chararcter of others to better endure their own lack of character. Living the expat life is not easy when it comes to using resources like wsg and having to deal with noise like this to get and often distribute information. But it has it's rewards. Anyway, I've taken enough of your time Chuponalgas, you're a busy man... Go back to your busy life.

    Freeze
