I am in Cali end of next week and happy to show a newbie around. I have been to Cali a couple of times and familiar a few casas and a regular night time spots.

This time I am planning to hit south of the city. I have not explored that area much. I usually stay in Centenario and Grenada areas and taxi everywhere.

I'm not going to say Cali is dangerous, but I will tell you something. I was at Salsodromo with a group last week. We were 90% locals with a few foreigners. A guy from the UK had that foam sprayed in his face and then they took his cellular phone. It wasn't an expensive one, as he lives in Cali and has a $100 phone. About an hour later a fight broke out in the crowd as a woman was trying to steal another Colombian women's bag. This was at La Feria with a lot of people around so perhaps there was more crime, but I always try to watch my back in the city regardless. In general, I like the city for what it is.

There will be a mandatory software on all Colombian phones moving forward to lower the robberies.

I know. 'Although the identities of the rescued Canadians have not been publicly disclosed for security reasons,' should ring a bell, eh? Anyway, most of the city is a no go area, and every area in every direction beyond the city also should be avoided. The flood of fake videos though is a fact.

First of all, stop watching those videos as many of them are fake posted by fake posters to earn income on youtube. Read Colombian newspapers.

Has crime increased recently or as another guy from MDE thread indicated, criminals are getting better in tactics. I understand this is a premediated stuff but then again, the chilly video of the foreigners getting kidnapped is disturbing for the impunity displayed by the kidnappers.

Then, Meddy is much much safer than Cali by all means. Cali had more than a thousand murders in 2023. Do not travel to Cali unless you have experience and have certain mode of operation it makes it worthwhile, that is you can't it in other places in the country for the same money, or there is a specific reason.

Just came back from Olympus. It's a 14 minute walk from Parque del Perro in case anyone likes to walk. $7,000 cover and about 5 girls. $60 K for 20 min $75 K for 30 Min $125 K for 60 minutes. Nobody I found attractive though all of the girls are completely naked. Afterwards went to Bar 20 which is much bigger and more girls. A few cute ones. $100 K for 30 min and $200 K for 60 minutes. Room charge is $10 K for 30 minutes.

A fun couple of days in Cali. Arrived on a Sunday. Went to Bar Olimpus, which is still one of my favorite spots. When I entered, the guy at the door said their were 18 girls inside. I was thinking, "Yeah, right". But there were actually 18 girls and only one other guy. The quality was average to below average for my tastes. The only real beauty was already snatched up by another guy. A second girl was also hot but I could see she was not interested in me, did not offer the introductory handshake, and had a kind of stuck up look. All the other girls seemed friendly, nice smiles, just large in frame and belly. I enjoyed looking at the naked girls while sipping a beer. But did not partake. Then taxied over to Bar La20. I only peeked in and saw there were about a dozen girls. One with a nice smile for me. Perhaps I should have stayed, but I was looking for something different, so took to the streets. Several girls out on Carrera 10. Young looking. I spoke to two, asking for BBBJ. They declined. "Todo con preservativo. " Found a girl with a nice smile lurking in the shadows. I had that desperate feeling, as I usually do on my first night in any town, and so since she seemed friendly, I met her price and we went to the hotel. Just like the other two girls she said no to BBBJ. Unlike the other two girls, she allowed room for negotiations. For a 20 K tip she gave good head with no cover. An OK time. She knew her trade well. 70 K total, plus 14 K for the room. I finished the night at my favorite empanada stand out on Carrera 22. Next day I headed to the bar Legends on Ave 9. No one in the place but good solid USA rock and roll and European Rugby on the tele. Being a Monday I wasn't expecting much activity out by Bar 20, but headed there anyway just as it got dark. I went inside for a quick look and it was more dead than the night before. A quick walk down Calle 21 and I found a few girls hanging around on the corner. One sweet looking young thing named Ani caught my eye. She brought me to the same hotel as last night. A perfect body. She seemed interested in sex. Just would not do BBBJ. It was funny that any time I mentioned "Sin Condom" she told me to "Shhhh!" like someone was listening.

To summarize, I felt like it was the same old Cali. Fun, friendly place. Girls available. Just need to take your time. You might not find as many 9's and 10's as in other cities, but a little patience usually pays off. Plus the people I have met are friendly. Wish I had more than 2 days and wish I had come on a weekend. Oh, well. Next time.
