The easiest way to get to Cartagena is land in Bogota and take one of the Avianca flights to Cartagena that leaves almost every hour or two.

You'll find Bogota has many more flights going into it than Cartagena. Cartagena has a much smaller airport.

I wrote the same, but maybe it is not so obvious to everyone.

BTW, still I do not understand how one who wants to go to Colombia from Europe should buy a ticket to Miami. The only explanation I have is that he told home and office he goes to USA for business, but secretly goes to Cartagena.

I did the same years ago. I was in USA for business, but I added 4 secret days in CTG flying via MIA to BOG first.

On My computer I can access flight info that others can't find. I did research for you and results were not good. From Mia to CTG even looking at all connections the latest departure was 1659 with a connection in panama. Same for ATL and JFK.

When I travel to south america I must go through MIA some times I arrive in Mia before noon with a 11 pm departure. Thats a rough layover. I looked for a cheat hotel with a shuttle bus, to get a few hours sleep. The best I could do was a days inn for $70.00. What a dump. The worst love motel I have stayed in was much better. Good luck.

My beef with miami is the time of day the planes fly to CTG. There are NO flights after about 6 pm I think.

I'm a euro pean flying into mia from europeland around 18.30. The route and timing are fixed unfortunately this time.

I want to avoid shelling out several hundred dollars on a nights accommodation.

So ideally something like a 9 pm flight to CTG would be good. Doesn't exist. I can maybe get to BOG though for about 2 in the am.

In fact there is a 21.45 flight to Santo Domingo, DOm Republic, so maybe that will assist.

If I absoluetely want that CTG pussy then I got to lose additional days travelling, and stay in the US which kinda defeats the object given my very short time off the leash.

I can't even find an airbnb near miami airort for less than 100 $ approx. One or two are cheaper but they look like murder scene motels from the tv, so maybe not my cup of tea.

I see well sounds like it's off to the DR, you can't lose either way plus it's Colombians and Venezuelans in the DR so you can get all the flavors you desire. Happy hunting.

I'm not sure I understand your post but I'm sure it has to be several flight leaving Miami to Cartagena daily. I know Jet Blue has routes to Cartagena I know I'm a big late but did you check Jet Blue?

Fly from USA to BOG, not necessarily from MIA (unless you really want to use that alliance). It should be cheaper and give you more connecting opportunities. Avianca flights BOG-CTG are very frequent, and if booked in advance not expensive. USA-BOG-CTG is my usual way of travelling to CTG when I have spare days (and money) after some travel to USA for work.

If you arrive to BOG too late, you can consider to spend one night in BOG. Hotels can be from cheap to expensive, as you prefer, and you have a plethora of good restaurants to choose. Also, you might visit Santa Fe, to have a different experience, or just have one less night for mongering but spend it to see how Bogota looks like.

Fact is I can get a AA flight at 9 pm to Dom Republic, but CTG or Medellin last flights seem to about 5 pm.

Unless the expert travellers on this board know otherwise.

TBH I'd prefer CTG but if I have to screw big titted dominicans then I'll suck it up. So to speak.

The chicas will take you to a nearby short time hotel. You may even see locals go with their girlfriends to these places. The old city has many short-time hotels that open up at night. There are a few just outside as well.

I wouldn't advise going to any girls apartment. Its better you pay the hotel and at least be safe.

The safety issue is usually for the one who takes a stranger to his / her place, not the contrary. You will not create troubles where you live, even if you just rent the room. On the other hand, if you have a thief or trouble maker in your apartment, the extraction of the unwanted guest from your place can be not trivial at times.

I have never seen any girl proposing a short-time customer to go where she lives. On the other hand, I have accompanied my girls back to their places in Getsemani a few times. One time it was a poor room at the ground level, other times a room in a small hotel. All times, we said bye at the door.
