CTG still on schedule to open September 21

International flights in Colombia would be reactivated on September 21.

The announcement was made by the mayor of Cartagena, who confirmed that that city would be the first to resume international air activity.

    8 Sep 2020 12:24 By: Noticias. canalrcn.com.

The mayor of Cartagena, William Dau Chamat, announced on Tuesday that on September 21 international flights in Colombia will resume and that precisely that city is entering the first phase of reactivation of this air operation.

"National flights are already arriving, and on September 21 international flights begin to arrive. We received the notification from the president, Iván Duque, and although we still do not have the details, we will communicate and review with the management of the Rafael Núńez International Airport, the airlines and scheduled flights, "said the Cartagena president.

It may interest you: These are the three new airports that will open on September 21.

Cartagena was the first city in the country to request authorization for domestic flights.

"We show that we are prepared for this, as has been recognized by all the authorities at the national level, and that is why they authorize us to take this step. We know that Cartagena, if it is not the first city, it will be among the first to receive international flights ", said the president of Cartagena.

Regarding biosecurity measures, Dau emphasized that all citizens are responsible for their care and gradually reactivate the economy.

"We are ready to receive tourists from any country who bring foreign currency to spend here in Cartagena, what interests me is that the passengers are well cared for, that they do not get infected here, or that they infect ours. At this point it is important that they bring their foreign exchange, to stimulate the economy of the city and the people of Cartagena who need it so much ", he added.

Likewise, he informed that at the end of last week the beach protocol that is to be reactivated in a pilot plan was ready, which includes two specific beaches: Bocagrande and Playa Azul La Boquilla.

"We are working at full speed, we have already defined the entry points, demarcation, among others. Much progress has been made, we hope to be able to reactivate by the first of October at the latest."

See also: Only two beaches will be part of the pilot plan to reopen to tourists in Cartagena.

Dau Chamat assured that in both the protocols of distancing, time control will be fulfilled and warned that, "what we do not want is to return to how the beaches were before, the bathers besieged by the vendors, to avoid this, what we will have will be zones special places where beach visitors can come to purchase the specific products or services they require."

The US will be getting rid of Covid testing for international arrivals, but individual states can still impose quarantines on anyone arriving into the state regardless if country of origin. That will be enough for yes a bilateral agreement that is in the works right now.

Those measures may or may not include quarantines. In spite of very definitive statements on this website and others, no such measures have been announced by the Colombian government. That may yet happen but it has not happened yet. I appreciate that it is frustrating and tedious to deal with facts but in the end it saves inconvenience and further frustration. I am comparing what happened in Mexico with Corona with what it was like before. In the past, I would have hotel concierges bring women to my room in the past. I have no clue what the CTG apartment scene is like, but I know in Mexico, bringing in a woman not on the guest list in multiple hotels was not allowed and before Covid it was. Hotels are tracking people, and I would think that the government will force them to. Maybe you can get by seeing some multiple women with some cheaper ones where the women do not pass the front desk.

As for the VAT, I have never paid it when I have had a Colombian guest in a hotel. Maybe it was just lucky, but I have not had to.
Sure, visitors and guests as opposite to registered guests like yourself and your girlfriend or spouse, that's all we want. As for CDMX you are welcome to post in the relevant section if you know night time freelance venues (bars, clubs, discos, whatever), as I don't know much.

You can try muscle your way into Medellin thread just to see how promptly other BM are going to react. You have been asked to share information about apartments but you refused. Instead you tried to question if other BM has even been to the city, all without any merit. This Super Bowl I was at the Hilton, El Laguito. If you think all visitors should stay at Palmetto or similar buildings only and never step outside imaginary tourist boundary, you're just plain wrong, there are much more to the city.

I cannot recall being denied a late check out by anyone. If you are members of clubs like Marriott, even the silver membership gets you a late checkout at 2 PM. 4 PM if you are gold. And the hotels are not very full anyway. They will more than likely let you check in early as well.

YK makes a good point, but if you check in with two people and your chica is with you at the time of check in or if you just have her name, it is no problem. But having a CTG fuckathon with multiple women does not look good for now.

There are also certain notorious expensive buildings where nothing is an issue but it's beyond this forum.

The whole point of Cartagena is you pay a little more for a more touristy experience and piece of mind.

I've seen this time and time again. The last time I was there I met a guy who only booked two days because he "wasn't sure. " he thought he could just book an apartment for as long as he wished at a moments notice. The guy spent more time dealing with living arrangements than doing anything else. He was exhausted by it. The only bookings he could find were for 2-3 days at a time in between the longer bookings other people were making. He must have moved five times total. Oh, and not everywhere he went was chica friendly or an apartment I'd stay at.

Also forget hotels in Cartagena. Generally they'll discourage mongering as much as they can.

Not only in Bangkok. In all hotels I have been in Singapore, KL and Batam nobody asks the ID to guests. They can come and go as many times you want. The first thing I do there (I must say: I DID THERE. Who knows when I will do it again?) is to ask housekeeping to leave me a stock of 3-4 bath towels, multiple toiletries, etc, to cover any possible future event. Once in Batam I brought 4 young girls to sleep to my room, because they shared a room in a poor hotel without air condition.

You are correct. I always select two 2 people staying in the hotels even though it is just me. Hotels check ID and if they remember the girl and she is not the same one you brought in before they won't let her in. I stopped using hotels and started with Airbnb's. I had to message each potential place and ask them if guests are allowed. Most say no. The ones that allowed it I saved them in Airbnb and use them over and over again. Then I one chance his policy and only would allow the guess I registered. So then I had to check before renting apartments again if their policy had changed. They do try to discourage mongering in Cartagena. I found Medellin easier, I still would check with the Airbnb owners before booking but a lot more were chica friendly.
