Were there restrictions on the time you were able to use the "private" beach at. Bocagrande? Or is the curfew only for the public beaches like Hollywood?

There are public and private boats. If you want private, like Kafka told you, the moment they see you walking to the beach, they'll be all over you. The problem is they start with ridiculous prices, then easily go down, but that doesn't mean much. I remember they gave me a decent price for the transfer, but when we got there, it was like a hostage situation. The drinks and food they quoted me were insane. I wrote about our Tierra Bomba experience sometime in August 2018. Look for it.

Here is what I would do in retrospect: there is a hotel right on the beach (don't remember the name right now) over there with a nice pool, bar, restaurant, and comfortable beach beds. They quoted me like $15 per day for use of the facilities, but then our "jailers" showed up and they obviously didn't like that. Maybe they could organize a transfer for you there, too, I don't know. But that would be a much better way to spend time on the beach than being totally dependent on touts.

One of my friends in cartagena just told me there is a weekend curfew all day until Monday.

Your friend must not be in Cartagena or you have mistaken him for being in another city. Cartagena does not have a curfew all day on the weekends. Anybody that is currently in Cartagena knows this. Beaches are open during the week. Get there early.

That's the funniest question yet once you get on the street in Bocagrande you'll know where the book one as a matter of fact they'll be chasing you down. By the way they now allow people on the beach on weekends till 12:00 noon.

Was headed to Medellin originally but detoured to Cartagena for obvious reasons. First stayed in Bocagrande with one of my established chicas. Place was ok. No doorman and keys were in a lockbox for my check in. Went to Olimpica to stock up on food and drinks. She whipped up some delicious food from scratch and it was awesome. Spent some time at the beach and quality time at night. After a few days I checked out of the place and sent my chica home.

Then I checked into a place on the 18th floor in El Laguito. Nice views of the beach and city from 2 vantage points. Sent for my other chica and she arrived and got registered at the front desk. We had an awesome time together. Did the beach thing, went to Exitos and stocked up on food and drinks for the apartment. This chica can cook too. Had some great homemade meals. We went to Tierra Bomba Island for a day trip. The cost was awesome. For only 35 k per person you get round trip boat transportation, a table with chairs and umbrella, a good lunch that was tasty and filling and an alcoholic beverage. Yes all for 35 k, no hidden fees. I had a good time in Cartagena despite the situation. Sent the chica home and headed to the airport for my flight to Bogota. By the way, Centro is closed but I did see options and the beach and on the streets in Bocagrande and El Laguito.

From the latest decree issued yesterday: The decree issued by the local president, has the endorsement of the National Government, and will be in force, from Monday, May 3 until 00:00 hours on May 10, 2021.

The curfew will be from Monday to Friday from 8:00 pm each day, until 5:00 am the next day, Saturday and Sunday applies from 2:00 pm each day, until 5:00 am The next day.

Weekends the beaches will not be allowed, the transit of tourist goats will be made at specific times and the peak and ID for the access and movement of people to financial entities, Bazurto Market, department stores, warehouses and supermarkets in general continues.

I just found a round trip between Detroit and Cartagena on July 14th for $419.

That's crazy when I went two weeks ago my ticket got rt was $240 round trip sadly on spirit but it was dirt cheap. And I booked my flight only two weeks in advance.

Putting in my vacation request at work. What are the chances Cartagena will be back to normal by 2nd week of July.

For some reason, flight tickers are still showing like 1 K for a flight from Detroit, but I think that will go down in June.
