Thanks for the advice. I've been to CTG several times but never during a US Holiday weekend so wanted to gauge the temperature prior to arriving. My group and I like to stay under the radar so the attention seeking females is a hard pass. We're definitely going to enjoy ourselves this weekend but the extra drama is not allowed. Happy Mongering to all.

Your post is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand which was based on current events on what's happening in Cartagena and Medelin in relation to the new mayors, decrees, and whose been getting caught up with certain type of incidents within the last 12 months.
I understand if you would have pointed the finger at the local Colombian men who are involved in the same exact behavior but its not publicized for the world to see due to national pride as no one wants outsiders trashing their fellow countrymen but damn. You went completely left field with your reply.
Do I need to link the articles from Minuto30, El Colombiano, Politica Heroica, etc because it appears people like to conveniently close their eyes on what's right infront of them and open their mouths to blindly defend the same shit they didn't see.
Seriously jajaja.

There have been lots of videos circulating in the whatsapp groups about the new wave of female travel groups going to Cartagena and the majority of them have the appearance of Sexy Red, Glorilla, Ice Spice, Sukihana, etc constantly looking for the first opportunity to twerk whereever they are. If that's your "eye candy" then you will feel right at home in the clubs, beach, cholon.
If you're looking for something else, avoid those places during a US holiday weekend. The best time to go is actually right before the holiday weekend because you will be ahead of the incoming uptick of frowned upon behavior, and if arriving directly after a US holiday weekend locals will automatically have a bias towards the newcomer based on their interaction with the previous gringos.
I made the mistake of being there Labor Day weekend. Never again!

Many thanks for the continued info everyone contributes. I'll be in town next week and with everything going on in CTG (I. E Walled City barricades) I was wondering what you all think next week will look like as far as clubs / beach / cholon. Will the holiday weekend potentially bring an influx of eye candy?

ID like to throw my 2 cents on the subject of Colombia racism. According to Google Search, 50% percent of the population is Mestizo, 25% is white (of Spanish descent), 10% is black, the rest is of various ethnic and mixed race groups.
I'm a white Californian- monger. Been coming to Colombia many years, been to Cartegena, Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Pereira etc.
What I see in the upscale areas like the north end of Cali, and especially nice modern shopping malls, that there are a few blacks, some brown skin people, but overwhelmingly white people. Does that mean that Colombians are racist, I don't know but there is income disparity. Its quite obvious.

Some research suggests that racism and stereotyping in mainstream society can cause Black communities to fear that reporting child sexual abuse will damage the community's reputation and stigmatize its members. A 2018 article by Bernard and Harris also found that serious case reviews involving Black children often lack professional curiosity about the children's lives, including their cultural, religious, and socio-economic contexts.
Some say that professionals need to recognize culture when creating prevention and education programs for CSA that are accessible to diverse communities. They should also review existing knowledge and present new research in a context-specific, practice-oriented, and theoretically informed way.

I was thinking about it and you are right Nypher. Every time I go to Cartagena half the flight is filled with American black guys, and I think they are there to get women. I would be a hypocrite if that bothered me, but it is obvious to me why they are going.
On the other hand, I was in Bogota on a food tour, and there were two black lawyers from DC. We got to talking and I asked them why they came to Colombia, and they said the saw the TV show Narcos and fell in love with the countryside and having seen the show, I was like, "Yeah, I get that. Colombia looked beautiful in that show. " So they could have been doing cocaine and women all night long but unlike other guys I have seen and met in Colombia, they did not give off that impression. So what you said made a lot of sense.
Thing that Old Kool said gave me the impression that he thinks racism is less in the USA or does not exist in Colombia, and that got me to thinking too. This is nothing against him. He might not even feel this way. It just made me think. I was trying to get my gal's daughter and her cousin to trash talk me when we were having a pillow face, and they would not do it. They could hit me hard in the face with a pillow but not talk smack.
My Venezuelan ex-fiance tried to tell me that there was no racism in Venezuela. I think the people are more brown there than Colombia, and she said everyone has a distant black relative within them and therefore racism does not exist there. Thing is when I went through her photos there were no black friends, classmates, or neighbors. I have not talked to my current gal about race but I suspect she would say the same thing and once more there are no black friends, neighbors, classmates, or even coworkers in her photo albums either.
I do not have a dog in that fight, but if I cannot get young girls to trash talk me, then I would assume the language of racism would be shunned for sure, but the actions are more important than the words right? So, Nypher, let me ask you this. I don't buy that no racism line in Venezuela and Colombia, do you?

While you may want things to go back to what it was pre Titan24 you may want to ask the locals who live there in Cartagena what they think about outsiders turning their costal city into an open brothel and having these youtubers put it on the internet for the world to see. The locals wanted it clean up so they can enjoy their city, to have outsiders come from other towns and countries to attract undesirables I'm willing to bet the mayor have the support of the locals to extend the decree. Not to mention Titan24 helped crack down on scamming vendors, harassing touts, underage extortion traps, trafficking, illegal vennies robbing on motorcycles and drugging, stealing and disappearing because they are just passing through, also them annoying ass kids that were always in front of Space / Dolce / Delirium begging (now they are at Kiosk #4 in the daytime).
I believe they are going to try push all that mongering stuff outside of the walls and into the neighboring town down to where Pley Club is.

So according to the decree Titan24, it's was suppose to last until May 31st. Anyone hearing any ramblings on what will happen after that? I hope it ends and things go back to pre-Titan24 at least for the another year. That's better than nothing.

I suggest rereading my comment, specifically the part about the photos released by the media of those who were caught doing it as I thought that pretty much made my post perfectly clear.
But on a side note I'm puzzled as to why you took the time to incorrectly read my post and respond but didn't take the time to respond to the OP and assist them on their first mongering trip to Colombia?
