Having read the posts as far back as a year ago, it seems that the consensus is staying at an apartment as opposed to a hotel. However, the apartment finding and booking agents seem to come and go, and the opinions about them vary. So, since I am taking a trip to CTG in another 10 days, any suggestions as to an agent (who is reliable and as importantly still around), apartment building, area, etc. would be appreciated. Reports to follow.

Mery arranged my appartment last year and was totally friendly and efficient. I´ll be returning to CTG and will definitely use her again.

I trust her more than ANYBODY in Colombia. Juan has a decent reputation too. Stay away from Eddie like the plague. $75 for a 2 Bedroom is Overpriced (except at New Year's, Semana Santa or El Reinado).

I´ve used Mery for years without a problem. In fact, she´s gone out of her way to help me on occasion. I can´t comment by experience on Juan, but I´ve heard from many that he is a stand-up guy. He´s in Spain at the moment, though.

try Juan Ventura. I rented a 2 BR from him for $75 a night, with a buddy of mine. I had a very good experience with him.

I have had mixed feelings about renting from Mery, but overall she seems ok from me.

I may buy an apartment in Cart and would probably use Mery to rent it out.

I used Mery 4 months ago and she pulled a apartment switch on me and my mate, thus we ended up in a hotel for 2 nights. Last yr I used Eddie twice with no problems whatsoever, but I have lost all contact info. Is there anyone else you recommend, as I will never use Mery again.

Yes Y and R I am now married to a Colombiana and enjoying life the most I ever have. I had a lot of fun playing the game but got tired of all of the lies and the BS.

I met Tom while I was in Cartagena and can vouch for the fact that he lives the ultimate life. He has a different roomate every night and each one looks like something from a latin playboy magazine. He has the ultimate taste in women and has proof to back up his tastes. A super guy living a life superior to any king. On top of that he makes good coffee.

I had a 3 some in May when I was out in CTG with 2 chicas from LDV and IT WAS AWESOME, SPECTACULAR, SPLENDID and my 1st one :). It was a 3am till the sun came up affair that was sooo Lovely, I'm getting smiles just thinkin abotu it now, I know I've been awhile but the Part II for my report is coming very soon, just been hella busy and planning my next return exursion to Dominican Republic for a quick weekend in 2 weeks and Puerto Rico for Labor Day Weekend... I will detail it within the next 2 days along with my last 4-5 days in CTG in late May!

gotta agree with beavis… i haven’t even made it to cartagena, but you can go ahead and count me in as one of those envious guys. i really didn’t detect any sour grapes in tom 33’s post, but with his set-up in ctg, i wouldn’t expect to.

btw beavis, nice to see you’re still alive! i guess the days of your nuevo laredo reports are long gone. man, i can’t tell you how many times your reports have cracked me up.
