Lunacy of a post. Local club rate in February was around 120 K plus you pay for a motel. 60 K rate was a street rat rate 10 years ago. No comment on my side on the lodgings as they vary a lot. Your Spanish has nothing to do with prevailing rates.

With COVID + this Venezuelan invasion, prices are definitely 40,000 (even lower) to a maxi 90 K.

My cup is overflowing now post covid after being somewhat bare before, and I have to focus on and wean down what I have.

I have read Cali is a shithole but it seems off the beaten path, and I really wish I could have seen what is there. The locals all pay 150 k. Outside of Colombia the average Colombian will want "cien dollares" or 100 US dollars. Inside of Colombia it's 150 k to 200 k. This price has been around for years. I was paying that much five years ago.

You have to be patient reading the post. I am not giving the advice to anyone, just post my experience. The gentleman asked for a 'solid rate' during New Years Eve. Can he he get a companionship at 150 K? Probably. Will it be the 'solid rate' during the holidays to my experience and taste? No, he wouldn't. This is a prime time, NYE, and for me the companionship will look something like the following: Educated beautiful white tall and slim paisa, dressed well, around 25 years old, maybe enhanced whom I can take out for a dinner or to a club, with whom I can talk and laugh, and who can make my holiday remarkable and whose photos won't embarrass me years later.

In my limited experience Cartagena is a bit higher than Medellin. 150 was a floor and 200 was what most seemed to be trying to get. In MDE 120 k is possible.

I assumed that was the tourist surcharge with cartagena being more of a leisure destination for both domenstic and international travellers, but may have been just my perception. Anyone else who knows both destinations care to weigh in?

You're right. Medellin is a bit cheaper for a prepago. I used to pay 150 k that would include taxi. Sometimes up to 200 k but not more. The price differential between Medellin and Cartagena is that the brothels in Cartagena charge more. They're out in some street inside of Cartagena I never really went to much. A chica told me they frequently get sailors there that are stopping at the port.

Such a basic concept so many dudes don't get. No wonder so many putas laugh at these guys behind their backs.

The economy of one country particularly a medium sized or bigger one doesn't change much day to day compared to the exchange rate, particularly in non dollarized countries. Colombia is still a less merchantilist country, and daily life barely changes for locals with exchange rates.

As a thought experiment lets invert. I wonder if the rate had moved to 2500 if this monger would have said, hey amor, the rate is lower so your 150 k is now 120 k. The puta would have laughed in his face. What that got to do with the price of anything anywhere? Some people just don't know even try to understand the basics before they post the advise.

This February the lowest I got was 150 K and the highest 350 K, and no one asked more than 350 K, so I would say adjusted for the exchange rate it would be 400 K, - your solid rate. No idea for NYE, but an offer of 1 million COP for 2 hours shouldn't be rejected.
