I think they made a mistake banning the ladies from the Reloj where they could keep an eye on them. Now they are all over El Centro near their clubs and bars and sometimes are a real nuisance when you are walking by. It used to be that you would never see the girls on the streets leading to Plaza Madrid from Reloj. If you were walking there at midnight, it was usually deserted. On my last visit in Mid October, they set up a gauntlet walking back to my hotel. Most of them appear to be scammers, fuglies, and Vennies.

I can handle it but wonder how a normal non mongering tourist feels about it.

All the girls are now walking between Calle 34 to Calle 36 between Carrera 6 and 7. The walk a wide loop. When I was there earlier in December it got annoying because when the chicas try to stand outside Sapce / dulce the cops come down on bikes and force everyone to clear the area, they do not want anyone standing outside. I did find some great ones on Calle 36, when they were waking from Space / Dulce to Delirium.

Will be back soon but will be skipping the Reloj as I find outside the drugstore on Calle 35 give better results.

Most of the chicas are home with their families and won't be back working until January. Many of the ones I know will be back the second week of January but at least 5 of them posted the same exact message on their whatsapp status, from what I can remember it said "In Cartagena, everything is normal, there are no closures, no Omicron variant, bars close at 3 am, Friends from United States and from around the word come visit us."

I asked one of them why post that message is she not working till next year, she said some of her friends are still working so they posted it for them.

Also, the former EXITO across the street was converted into a Caruilla Express and better organized.

I was in there early December. The layout fees the same to me from when it was Exito Express. The only difference I noticed was they had all the beers stacked up on the left as soon as you walk in. I still had to end up going to Exito in Centro because they didn't have any small bottled water only the large ones. Also liked they were open late even though the doors are locked. Just tell them what you want through the little window hand them the cash or card and they will pass it through the window. Came in handy one night I needed ice and more coronas. Good store to make quick grabs of things when needed. Sometimes it can be slow even though they are a few check out registers they only usually have 1 open and everyone is waiting on line.

The touts no longer hang out in front of hotel Dan and now moved a little down by the emerald store and directly in front of Poseidon. Hopefully its not raining while you are there, that's a bad area to get out of as that exit street floods real high.
