Unless they changed, the name of LDV has always been, since when it was in its first glorious location in Laguito, LA DOLCE VITA (yes, Italian, as the movie).

Space opens much earlier now. Elektra was also open at 10 PM onwards (although didn't get going until at least 11 pm). The scene is changing. I was there back in March and a tout told me two more clubs are opening on the same street as LDV, Space and Isis. I'll ask around when I'm there and include any info on my next report.

Plenty of chicas to pick from and you can take them to most clubs anyway except for a few of the uppity ones like Alchemico.

QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO VISITED CTG RECENTLY: is Elektra still up and running? and empty until 3am? Or changing owner also changed the modus operandi?

Elektra got shut down over the holiday season. I'm going back this weekend and as far as I know the only bars / clubs are Space, Isis, and La Dulce Vita.

However, in CTG there is nothing like that, which I could recommend. CTG is NOT a place with that. There are some clubs, but overpriced. Not worth IMHO. There are casas, but not for someone new in town.

The business model in CTG is not the same as in other places, even in Colombia. Go meet your honey at Reloy, or wait to meet someone special at a beach, or go hunting bars at night. You will have a lot of fun at bars where regular couples and girls mix with some working girl. If all that fails, after 3am you still have Elektra.

So true, I think the vibes and business models are right on the mark and I imagine is different from other cities. I am at CTG now and when I checked in at Palmetto front desk that first night, I saw several good looking Chicas waiting at the lobby waiting for to be called up by people who had contacted them earlier. When they smiled at me, I just approached them and asked for their contacts so that I can order in during the day time if I need. The property manager commented that I did not waste anytime alright as he helped me with the check-in.

Now if only I can speak Spanish, sigh! The need to use translator app to communicate does not help with the flow and experience.

Why don't you check the Cartagena List? Everything is listed there.

Whatsapp is the best way to contact with girls there. No need for two accounts, just use the one you have. Delete or save them for next trip when done.

This is the best option if you have a phone from your cellular provider. I'm on Verizon, so my phone is locked, using a different sim card won't work.

I hear that they can unlock your phone but never tried it, didn't think it worth the hassle, especially since I'm not fluid in Spanish, so whatsapp and translator is a much better option for me.

Regarding your Verizon phone. I have a J7 2017 and it's unlocked and dual mode. I called Verizon and they said I can either use my phone using either their international pass-through program for $10 a day fee or I could get a SIM card from a local carrier like Cairo.

Most of the action is after 11 pm at night in the old city. This is so tourists aren't exposed to it as much. The chicas otherwise get hassled by cops. Clubs open late. I think Isis is after 9 pm and that's the earliest one that opens. It's a strip club.

If you don't like touts and want clubs and bars and shit this is the wrong city to go to. You should be going to Bogota.

Thanks mate. I am going to Bogota, I will be in Colombia often for the next few years. I have been before but don't know "the scene" very well, so to speak. Bogota I know the best, and yes, it is amazing. But I still want to explore other places including the scene in Cartagena.

Around late morning or noon, Playa Hollywood starts getting busy. It's the stretch of beach in front of the high-rise buildings in Bocagrande. Among the beach goers, there are usually some chicas for rent. Walk the beach, look around and get close to the seats and the umbrellas. If you see chicas hanging out or sunbathing don't be shy, smile and approach them and say something nice, assuming you know some Spanish. Doesn't matter what you say, ask them to take a picture of you on the beach! They're generally very friendly and that opens up the possibility to size them up. Many of the girls come with their amigas to make a buck for a few days. If you act with interest and without being shy, usually there's some action around Bocagrand and the beach. I have even picked up chicks at the Juan Valdez coffee shop, 2-3 blocks from the beach. Additionally, there're some touts on the beach who know girls and can bring them by. I personally don't care for the touts but they provide a service for the willing.

This is outstanding, thank you. My Spanish is good and I am experienced in this game general, just not in Cartagena so much (been a couple of times, but don't know it well enough). I don't like touts. So I'll try to dig up some gems myself.

How about any clubs? Private casas? Escorts?

Any knows commodities in that regard?
