Lets say I wanted to go to CTG for ten days. What would be a good amount of money to plan on spending after airfare? Condo rental, food, drinks and dancing every night and maybe a chica per day?

Agree with Artful and Black Page. 400-600 is a good estimate. It is hard to stick to only one girl a day. I say CTG is minimum "two girls a day" kind of city. :-D. What else is there to do?

For me it's 600k pesos / day PLUS accommodation costs. I am sure lots of the people on this board will say this is way too much, but this number is based on actual amounts spend on at least 10 visits over the years, plus a prolonged period of a year that I was living there. When the exchange rate was better it used to be much less, of course.

It's based on partaking in the daytime at the beach, nighttime activity at Tu Candela or LDV etc, followed by Elektra. I know you can do it for a lot less, but when I'm vacationing I don't feel like working hard at saving $$$$.

CTG is expensive.

I agree. It can be easily 400k if you avoid wasting money with drinks on the beach or buying bottles at the club, but not less unless you really miss the fun.

I was in the new location about 2 months ago. The way I used to remember it was an upscale 'girl-bar-club' clean, nice, and upscale women with some non-hunting tourists mingling in and nice hard loud club music.

I'm sorry to say that the new location is nothing like the old, so bad I didn't even stay for one beer ($10). Looked like a very small bar with a dozen or so tables around the walls and a pole in the middle with one girl dancing, the rest of the girls were 'working' the tables. Also looked like mostly colombian tourists in the place, I asked the door guy what kind of music they were playing and he said crossover / mix, it sucked. Sorry for the negative report, but thats how I saw it.

Wow! So that's just over $300 a day after ticket and lodging. Is that like baller status there or what? My recent trip to Sosua cost me $2000 total for 9 days including airfare, lodging, and about $100 per day play money. Even at only $100 a day, I was still holding back on some days and splurging on others. Buying art, beach trinkets-shit like that.

How long are you in CTG for at that budget? From my earlier research a decent condo can be rented at about $75 a night. Is that still true?

Most of the girls I have been with have come from LDV or inside the clock tower. In my three times to CTG I have yet to make it to Elektra as it's obviously open later and despite being a young guy, I'm too tired (read: horny) to wait up that late and I've already settled for a girl. However this upcoming trip I'm surely going to check it out and see what it's all about.

That said, if anyone is around March 14-18 and wants to possibly meet up for a beer and talk shop let me know. Additionally if anyone has a stable of girls they want to party with I have an amazing place that is HUGE which I can host a party and / or a super awesome orgy / gangbang at.

My last trip was the end of December 2012 and was disappointed that one of my favorite places to go called Club Isis was closed. They were moving to a new location inside the walled city and I was told they were scheduled to open in early 2013.

Does anyone know if Isis is open again and if so, has anyone been there who could provide some info on it?

Conversely, I stay in the San Diego area of the walled city and was looking for more places like Isis or Tu Candela that are inside the walled city to find sexy pros. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, I'm thinking about taking my first trip to Cartagena (in fact, to South America) , planning a 2-3 week holiday, in April or May. Want to stay somewhere on the beach which won't break the bank ($300+ per night is out of the question). Don't need 5 star luxury; but want a clean, safe, reasonably pleasant place (for the times when I want to just chill and read etc; don't want a depressing place) which will not charge me something outrageous (or even anything) if I want to bring a girl to my room. Something with facilities like a pool and / or gym would alo be nice, but might be too much to ask for. Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated!

I stayed here last trip. www.thelocogringo.com It is on the Laguito beach. It is plenty quiet and dark in the bedroom. Rates are 100 a night. You could stay here a few nights then maybe longer if you like it. You guys familiar with Bbrocs 2 bedroom Lleras apartment is is almost exactly the same as that with a big 8 foot patio on 2 sides. Spacious as hell you could have a few friends over no problem, big living room, dining room, kitchen, big tvs in the bedroom and living room, couches new and comfortable, the a /c was more than ample, hot water worked fine. My only complaint was the maid didn't show up each day to renew the towels. Security at the front desk checks the ID of girls that look younger than 18, there is a beach gate that opens from the beach by day that goes right to your apartment. It is less than 50 feet to the nearest store, right across from the LDV, easy walk to Playa Hollywood, you can rent jet skis right in front of your apartment and is alot more private that some of the other buildings in Laguito where every taxi driver and doorman hollers out your name.

Yea everything seems to fall into place for me. Its funny, but I am real easy going and always have a good time. I never take myself to serious and it works for me. I try to give people as much info into my escapedes as possible with the thought of helping them if they take one of these trips.

I have always tried to post trip reports because I always remember when I was doing one of my first trips and I searched the internet and found various sites and for the most part people were really helpfull.

So I have always tried to give back, sometimes I will have been out drinking and log on and say some stupid stufff but for the most part I try to be as helpful as possible.

This next trip I am going to try to take many pictures and post them to show the various places and things in Cartagena.

As always when going out there are all kind of variables, thats what I love about traveling you never no who you will meet or how it will work out, I have had some great times traveling both fun and dangerous. But I am still hanging in there!
