Mery's places
mery represents several places.
i rented unit 504 in "mirador del laguito" from her on the weekend across the 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th. thge place was awesome. an efficiency with great ac, high-speed, large flat sceen tv, hot water, kitchen. all of it clean, clean, clean. she charged me $60 per night.
granted, she represents several owners of several apartments so you have to ask a few questions.
look 911, i don't know you but the way you rant on, you sound like you bring most of your shit on yourself.
cartagena has it's issues and i've had my problems there too, but it's still colombia. it's pretty damn hard to "ruin" your vacation there. unless you're a little crybaby ***** to begin with.

i was wondering if anyone has info on Dave Jones renting from colombian rentals (just add the .com) They are renting a two bedroom with the door of one bedroom locked for 60 a nite. Its sol de caribe #803 or torre centauro #804.

Exactly! We were paying about $50 for this shithole. Juan charged us $130. So that is $80 more but it was for 2 guys. So that equals $40 more a night each. Big fucking deal! Anyone who cannot afford an extra $40 a night should just stay fucking home. I am getting a little sick and fucking tired of some of the assholes on here who cannot afford something a little better. I am sick of your reports and all the bullshit I read about how you guys saved 5 bucks. I am on fucking vacation and I want to enjoy myself and not live like some dog in a doghouse. Some of you guys are so proud you found some dirty stinking beach hooker for 40, 000 pesos but you forget to include in the report that her pussy smelled like a dead cat. I mean, what type of trailer park trash do you have to be to come from the richest country in the world and then find street hookers that no respectable Colombian would be seen dead with? Trash! Trailer park, redneck, trash! Yeeeeha!
Why I am so mad is because I rented from Merry after someone on here said she had nice places. So ya, YOU. YOU MAN! YOU FUCKED UP MY VACATION! I am not going name you, but ya, YOU! I had 220 volts above my head and shitty floors because of YOU man! If I ever see you on the beach I am introducing myself, and you do not want to meet me after fucking everything up with your shit advise.
So lets talk about what is a nice apartment. Juan has 3 very nice apartments that I know about. They are better, BY FAR, than anything Merry is renting for 50 bucks. He might have more but these are the 3 best I know about.
Apt #1 is in the building Juan lives in. I think it is called Miridor del Laguito. I am not sure of the spelling. It is 2 stories on the top floor. You can rent either the top of the bottom as there are separate entrances. I think it is about $100 a floor but I am not sure. This building is about 2 years old so everything is modern. Nice big new beds, modern kitchen, fast Internet, etc. Everything you need it has got, you do not feel like you left home. It is perfect for 2 guys who do not really want to see each other.
Apt #2 is the one I was talking about in the last post. This is in Lago. Ok. I almost did not want to tell anyone about this place. It is $130 a night for two guys. Each room has LCD TVs, there are brand new modern floors, NICE, and I mean NICE bathrooms where you can have a shit without feeling dirty like I did with Merry's apartment. I mean, fuck, Merry's place smelled so bad I was embarrassed to have hookers there! Imagine that! Ya, again, asswipe, YOU FUCKED UP MY VACATION! When in this apartment you feel happy. You feel clean. And the pool is great. You do not feel for one second you are in the 3rd world.
Apt #3 is the penthouse in Playa Mar. If you got 3 guys then this is the place to be. It is the best apartment in Laguito. They ask $350 a night but if you are a repeat customer like me it is only $300. So that is $100 a guy which is well worth it. The place was just remodeled again a month ago. Brand new floors, the loudest stereo in Colombia, there are LCDs in every room now,. All kinds of new shit. Me an my buddy were going to take it again but it was rented out so we would have only got one night and had to move. The smaller place in Lago is pretty much as nice as the penthouse so if you got two guys go with Lago but if you want extreme "Playboy Party Place"then go with the penthouse.
Oh, almost forgot, there is an imported Hot Tub on the terrace! One night I was up there with 4 girls in that Hot Tub listening to tunes (ya outdoor speakers) drinking my Walker BLUE (do you assholes even know what that is? ) I was listening to Jimmy sing me a song. All the girls were from LDV so it was probably 300 bucks for them. And the little one slid her body on mine and started fucking me right there in the Hot Tub without condom while the others kissed me. I was like "does it get better than this? " Really think about this, there I am, 4 girls, Mr Walker, Jimmy singing and the stars in the sky. Does it get better? I think most of you beatches will never understand this question? Do you guys get it yet? It does not get better! This is IT MAN! THIS IS WHY I WORK! So who cares if I am spending $500 a day? Who cares? It does not get better and I am only living once. Life is not a practice. This is the live act, there is no breaks or curtain calls. I am not spending my limited time in life in a shitty apartment.
So now my rant is over, Merry, if you read this am am telling you clearly that you fucked up my vacation. You said it was a nice place when I booked it, you would not find me another place or give me back my money. You suck and I am going to tell everyone how much your apartment sucked. And the guy who always writes nice about her apartments, you suck also. And if I ever meet you I might make you my novia for one night just so you can practice sucking. I have a real long hard cock that I would like you to suck and lick my balls.

No offense Bob, but you get what you pay for. If you're paying $50 a night for a two bedroom apt. You're going to get a dump. You're going to be lucky to get A/C that works. Admittedly, with one exception, Mery does have some crappy apartments in Torre Centauro. I stayed in one the first time I visited Cartagena and it was cheap and it sucked. On future trips I told her I wanted something nicer and was willing to pay more, and she always delivered, at prices a little lower than Juan's. I've stayed in a couple of very nice places that she rented at very reasonable prices ($70 to $100). If you committed to 14 days, then that's potentially 14 days that she couldn't rent to someone else. If she refunds your money she's probably going to [CodeWord140] off the apartment owner that she works for.

Once money has changed hands with a Colombian, do not expect to see it back. Many people have had issues with Mery, but she has always been very helpful to me. One time, I was robbed of money and my ATM card before I had a chance to pay for the apartment and she let me pay her when I returned to the US. I have never prepaid for an apartment.
Mary did put me up in Mirador del Laquito which is the newer building across the street and over one building from Playa Mar. It was a two bedroom with two flat screens, hot water and AC, and had a nice stereo system. She charged me $50.00 US because I was booked for Playa Mar, but she overbooked the apartment. The normal rate is $100.00 US.
I do agree though Juan will provide excellent service and will put you in the right apartment and in your price range. I never had issues renting from him and he is trust-worthy.

Nice report Bob. I am always telling people I would rather pay a little more and be happy. My last visit to Laguito I had a guy berate me for spending 70 a night with Juan when I could rent his apt for 30. The porteros at playa mar told me his apt was a dump and when a Colombian says that. I listen! Juan is a class act and you do get what you pay for.

I was in Cartagena for the last two weeks of July with a buddy of mine. Tony had some nice girls on the beach but LDV sucked. I have not been in Cartagena for a while but it was the exact same girls in LDV except they are more fat now probably from drinking too much.
My buddy and I did not really enjoy the trip. Most of this was due to the shitty apartment I rented from Merry. It was in Torre Centauro which is the building beside Playa Mar. Normally we rent from Juan. However, Merry was offering this apartment for less money so we thought we would give it a try. What a fucking mistake!!!
First off, the floors were about 15 years old. So when I walked around without shoes my feet became dirty. I hate that and I do not like wearing shoes when I am in tropical places. The bathroom was dirty and smelled bad. I went to Carulla and bought some odor spray but there was just no way to get the stink out of the bathroom. It seemed to be coming from the drains so I poured water down all the drains but no luck, the smell just would not go away.
The beds were too small. I like getting 2-3 girls at the same time and just could not do this with the tiny beds. The Internet did not work with my laptop because they had a cheap wireless. I had to go to the Internet cafe every fucking day. A huge waste of time!!!!
The shower had one of those electric shower heads. Having 220V of power above my head when I am wet scares the shit out of me. So I ended up turning it off to take only cold showers.
There was no microwave, there was no coffee maker, there was only an old gas stove top, so no cooking at all. I mean this place sucked!!!
So after one night I asked Merry very nicely to find me another apartment. She basically said “too bad” and would not change the apartment. So I asked her, again very politely, to return my money so I could go with one of Juan's apartments. She refused. I was so fucking mad I would have slapped her in the head if she was a man. We had prepaid for 10 of the 14 days so it was like $500 USD we gave her and she basically told us to go fuck ourselves.
After a couple of days we just could no longer take living in this dump. We no longer cared about losing the money We just had to get out because it was recking our vacation. I called Juan, told him I was sorry for renting from this stupid *****, and asked him to find me another place, no important the cost.
Juan put us in the new building across the street from Requismos. This is the building that is a double tower with a nice big pool. It is called Torre de Lago. Now, if you ever want a very nice 2 bedroom apartment then this is the place you want to be. We were using two rooms and the rate was $130 a night. This was almost triple what we were paying for the apartment with Merry but what a fucking difference. Big 2 meter beds, fast Internet, plasmas in all rooms, nice and clean, brand new porcelain floors, modern kitchen -in short it rocked! Even had a nice stereo and DVD! So that is like $65 per person for an awesome apartment!!
I think Juan is a really nice guy and I feel bad I kind of dissed him when I took the cheap ass apartment from Merry. But in the end Juan pulled through and got us what we wanted. I was kind of bitter for the whole time I was in Cartagena because me and my buddy lost $500 with Merry. I know now though that “you get what you pay for” when renting in Cartagena. So, it was $65 for each of us, and the place was modern, secure, clean, nice beds, etc. etc. etc. Looking back I cannot imagine why any asshole would be so cheap to rent one of these dumpy shitholes that we were first put in. It will fuck up your entire vacation to live like some poor piece of shit. It was a dirty stinky dump.
Tony had a girl from Medellin whose name (hooker name) was Veronica. She came over after I met her on the beach. We played around in the pool for about an hour then went up to the apartment. She had big bouncy tits. She stayed about 4 hours and only wanted 120.000 pesos. I was in this nice big clean bed fucking the shit out of her and I said to myself “this is what life is all about”. Fuck Merry. Never again will I make this mistake.

I don't want to be the one to burst your bubble but trying to find non pros in Cartagena is like finding them in Sosua there are working girls way over 90 percent. I found a couple which I thought were non pro working in El Centro at shoe store they show up at my apartment in Laguito looking like 5 dollar street *****s from Medellin. Even the inocent looking ones working in Cafes dressing nice and such in some capacity work the Beach, LDV, Electra or in some other capacity.
As to this girl showing you non pro action? Tu Candelas sucks, some of the girls are Semi pro but it still sucks. Mr Babillas sucks. Go ahead take this tour but if you end up with a girl you will be paying. Very few bars in Colombia with single non pro girls especially in Cartagena cover is 5 bucks beer is even more. Non pros can't afford this. Girls in general go out with boyfriends at night in Colombia they can't afford drinks and such. One exception Babylon in Medellin Thursday night. The non pro scene in Cartagena is almost non existant you have to chase them in the same places you would chase them I'm Medellin and Cali and if you don't know where this is I am not saying. JMHO

There are pimps, druggies and hustlers all over the place but also police around not paying much attention. Basically any girls in the restaraunts and clubs are for sale from what I see. I haven't been active in almost tens years. However I guess I must have signed back up in 2007. I used to go by Highonhobbying on the old board and had the honor of buying Jackson a beer in Buenos Aires back around the time of Roxanne, Muldahos and Blacks(?). Damn, I still fantasize about that bartender from Muldahos! Anyway, dusting off my old bad habits I've been looking to take a trip and am considering Columbia vs. Asia.
I preface all this because what follows will sound like I'm a shill. I'm not; so please don't rag on me, okay.
In researching I came across an ad for some woman named Valeria who'll take you on a tour of 'the hottest night clubs in Cartagena'. When I googled some of the info from the homepage I found the ad plastered across the backpage and CL for most cities. You can google the home page yourself: Party Tour Cartagena (I believe I'm allowed to post the link directly, correct?). If she's the one in the photos, shes hot to start with and services can include what looks like a nice apartment rental, tour of local hot night clubs and introductions to local women.
I can't find anything reviewing her services on the forum and otherwise. Am wondering if anyone recognizes her, knows anything about the quality of the condo and whether it's a secure building, the quality of the tour, etc.? Are the intro's for take home? Non-pro talent? Or is it just club companionship? Of course it could be the other thing - another internet scam. Anyone have any experience with them?
