I spent one month in Cartagena at an apt. Within walking distance from LDV. When I wasn't spending the night with a girl I went to Cartagena to visit, I spent my evenings in LDV. You need to know it is Colombia not Columbia.It is a good place for all to go as long as they are respectful,act right and most important of all have money! The girls appreciate a well mannered and well dressed man no matter his color. It is a different scene than Sosua DR because most of the tourists are Colombians not foreigners.

Yes, it's a good place for mongers be they African american, Appalachian American, Cajun American or non-american. If you'd like to know whether the chicas will spread their wings of love or shake their money maker regardless of skin pigmentation, the answer is yes. Pale or dark skin pigmentation, the chicas will gravitate more to a guy who is well-groomed, personable, easy-to-smile, makes eye contact and speaks a little Spanish. And lastly is willing to share some pesos.

Might you come across an instance or notice something that reminds an American of the Jim Crow days? Yes, but the attitude we've always taken is that it's better to be denied entry or refused service in a place as opposed to being fleeced of our money when they didn't like us being there in the first place. Better to know upfront about a particular establishment or person, 'cause I'd rather not patronize their business with my hard-earned money if their ignorance is a problem.

Bottom line. If you're a fun, personable guy who knows how to conversate and share laughs with the chicas, you'll have fun mongering in Cartagena regardless of ancesteral lineage. If you're well-groomed, outgoing, speak a little Spanish and have pesos, then my best advice is to read back through this forum from 2007 forward, seek out more information from other mongers here through PM's, contact Juan or Mery to reserve an apartment, book your airline ticket and then get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids 'cause the chicas will try their best to drain you of all your leche.

Chapter 2. Cartagena 01-04 February 2010

Arrived on the afternoon of 01 Fenruary with other colleagues. After checking into the Hilton Cartagena, and doing the preliminaries unpacking, eating, etc. Decide to hit my favorite spot La Dulce Vita (LDV) in search of some sexy female compania. I let my friend spring for the $4K taxi ride to make it look as though I had limited funds. We got back to the Hilton where we checked in our guests and headed upstairs for some fun. Poured ourselves a night cap before getting down to business. Mariaelena had a smoking body, light complexion and lovely jet black hair. After a quick shower, we hit the sheets. I can't recommend a local guide, but I will pass along the following.

If "good girls" means good-looking, sexy and fun who give GFE, you really don't need a guide in Cartagena, especially if you speak a little Spanish. In addition to going to the places talked about here in this forum, just speak to another monger when you're down there and ask him for some information.

Many enjoy helping a fellow monger out by providing information, insight, etc. It's giving back, because we all were there for our first time at one point and typically received information from a guy who blazed that trail before us.

Check out World Travel's list for places with chicas and visit a few of those, check out Playa Hollywood in the afternoon, go to the late night discos that cater to prepagos, etc.

The best guide will most likely come from befriending another monger who is down there that week, combined with reading back through the last 2-3 years worth of posts in this forum and exchanging information through pm's with other members herewithin. There really is a wealth information contained in this threads posts if one spends a couple of hours to go back through them from say 2007 forward.

As Mule mentioned below, Dec 15. Jan 15 is a time of year I wouldn't go for mongering. Oct. Nov is the rainy season, but I've gone those times of year and had fun. Most anytime other than that is pretty much a good time of year. I've been in Cartagena at one time or another in every month except December and can candidly say that the number of chicas bonitas eager to meet has been sufficient each and every time.

As far as enterprising Colombiana tourists, a fella can run into those most anytime in Cartagena, but a little more so during times that coincide with their vacation. Such as, when University breaks for most of July, or one of the many 3-day holiday weekends (they have a boatload of holidays in Colombia that are observed on a Monday).

That being said, you can run into chicas visiting Cartagena for the weekend, the week, the month, etc., in any of the months without there being a 3-day holiday weekend or break from University. I'd just wouldn't do Dec. 15. Jan. 15, unless you want to spend time doing the family-gathering thing.

Looking forward to visiting CTG this year, but not sure when are the best times to go and what times of the year should it be avoided? The post's here have been very informative, but I haven't been able to find anything that lays out a seasonal schedule for the city. Not concerned about price, just looking for an abundance of people and p***y. Also, when are the best times of year to find Colombiana tourists willing to make a little extra dinero.

IMHO Christmas is the worst time to go unless you want to pay double or triple the normal rates.I usually go three times a year,April,July and November.I have found April to be the best for me as it is not too crowded and the weather is usually nice.Oct and November I have seen constant rain and July can be awesome hot.Always have a good time though anytime I go!

the bottom line is, you do not know anything at all when it comes to this subject, unless you were checking cedulas. there is also no need to be calling out to greg, like a child calls for there mommy, as fabone already shared factual information, and he did it in a very articulate way.

the lesson to be learned is if in doubt about the age of a girl, check there cedulas. if you feel minors are in the company of people you are hanging with, and you disapprove of it, leave.

i didn't intend to support anyone's attack on greg or anyone else for that matter.

i did not see the cedulas of the girls greg and roberto were with that night.

What tripped me out is that they went to La Piscina in Bogota. And where is La Piscina located? Right in Santa Fe. But they did not say anything about the local market. That is why I mix in and monger amongst the locals and not with the gringos. They always try to give US a bad rap.
