I just arrived in Cartagena for the first time. I'm staying in Apt 602 thanks to Bijou for mentioning it. 85K/day. Very basic but it will serve my purpose. I don't at all recommend it though unless you like dust, dirt, roaches, ants, mold, and mildew. He could at least clean the toilet before he rents the place. As a matter of fact the guy didn't even have any towels here. He said that people always bring their own. So I had to go out and spend a few thousand pesos on towels at Exito. I'm jacking someone in the building's Netgear wireless signal right now.

Well anyway, some girl who I met online probably two years ago met me at the airport. (I don't know which site because I have not been on any of them since last year.) She is 27 and was a bacteriologist before she lost her job. She is a solid 8. We took a taxi here to El Laguito for 15K. After I left my things in the apartment she took me to some restaurant to eat. I had fried fish and lemonade and she ate some crab claw appetizers and flan. 74K WTF? Then she took me to those old buildings behind the wall to look around. She had called her cousin at work and told her to meet us there. When her cousin arrived we walked around and talked a bit. Her cousin was black but she is more so white. She told me that if we go to the beach tomorrow she is going to need a new swimsuit. I said you live here in Cartagena, I'm sure you have one already. She said that it was ugly. I said we are going to the damn beach not to a fashion show. She said if I don't buy her one we won't be going to the beach. I agreed. No beach. I was thinking to myself damn, why didn't I just go the hooker route. It would have been much cheaper. We went to a bar on top of the wall called Casa del Mar. I loved the ambiance of this place. The two ladies had lemonade and I had a Club Colombia. 20K. She told me that her cousin lived far and asked if I could pay for her a taxi to go home. This is usually where I draw the line. The last time a girl in Bogota tried to pull that shit I gave them 2000 pesos before I walked back to my hotel. Anyway I'm still hoping that she will loosen up by the second meeting so I agree.

We walked to Exito so I could buy some towels. She goes to get the most expensive towel she can find. 24K. I said negative. I asked the stock guys where the cheap towels were and they gave me one for 9K plus a wash cloth for 1. 8K. I also grabbed a 1. 5 liter H2O. When I got to the check out counter I asked the cashier where I could get a card for my Movistar cell. She said that she could do it on the register if I gave her the number. So I give her my number and old girl wants to get recharged as well. She said so she could call me. I told her no and that I would just call her instead. In my head I was thinking that if I never talk to this broad again in life it will be okay with me.

So it was about 9pm when we left out of Exito. We went to the main road and their were three taxis. I had to give her cousin 12K to go home and I had to give her 10K. It cost me 6K to get back here. So all in all, I spent 116K on this girl today and didn't get so much as a kiss. In Santa Fe I could have fucked five times and had money left over for a six pack of beer for that amount. Despite her good looks I won't be calling her again.

At 9 tomorrow morning another non-pro is supposed to come over and we are going to the beach. I was planning to leave here for Bogota on Thursday morning but I just told an old flame from Barranquilla that I am in Cartagena. She said if I will stay then she will take off work Friday and come spend it with me. She will arrive at 8am she says. I am really looking forward to that because this girl is a monster in the sack. I'll definitely change apartments or get a hotel before she gets here. Well let me get out of this apartment and go check out the chica venues. It's already 11:40pm.

It is clearer to me more and more to find the right hooker and get the GFE without all the games.

I stayed at the Playa Mar Apartments booked through Juan Ventura (http://www.venpro.net/fotosapartamentos/playa802. Htm). It ran me $70/ nite, but I ran into someone else staying in Apt 602 and booked through someone else and got it for $30/nite. I saw his apartment and it looked just as good as mine. However, mine did have wireless internet in the room, which I really needed to keep up with some business in stateside. I’m not sure that paying the $40 extra per nite just for wireless internet was worth it.

I've been twice before for a week each time and know well laguito, bocagrande and a little of the area near centro comercial castellana. I still need to hangout in more of the old city and learn my way around el centro better. I plan to hang out take salsa lessons at Nueva lengua during the week and take weekend trips to Barranquilla. So far I've been quoted $1300 USD for a one bedroom and $1600 USD for a two bedroom. What can you tell me?

You can do better by just showing up and looking yourself. Get a cheap hotel for a night if you need it.

Another question or two from the peanut gallery. I always dress as best I can to blend in with the locals when I travel. Whether I succeed at it or not is debatable. In June the weather in Caratgena is expected to be in the 90's with humidity. I don't mind dressing in jeans and button down shirts in the evening, but how does one dress comfortably, and, blend in during the heat of the day?

Standard fare here in Florida is khaki or denim shorts, tennis shoes, and a polo shirt or t-shirt. I will of course be doing alot of walking around/sight seeing and want to be comfortabe but protected from the blazing sun.

Also, I will assume that some version of the "little blue pill" is available at the farmacia. If so, what name does it go by and how much could I expect to spend on 4-6 pills.

Wear anything you like during the day.

Ask for Viagra generica. Be sure to ask for buen calidad and buy at a better place. Some generics in Colombia are not what they claim to be. You can expect to pay 1.5-3K per pill.

Tony is set up on a part of the beach fronting the Hotel Dann. That is on the opposite end of el Laguito from the Hilton. There is no hooker tent.
