I was planning a trip to Cartagena for some time in early may, but I think its TOO EXPENSIVE!

The flight from Miami is $640. I found a half decent apartment for $ 400 for a week. I figure, if I add 5 or 6 chicas and a few excursions to my trip its going to cost me the best part of $ 1700 for the week!

Maybe I'm just poor, but that feels like alot of money for a week.

Whats your experience? How much is it costing you guys to have a good time in CTG?

If you can't afford 1700 for a week's vacation you should not be a hobbyist. It would cost you more than that to just have the sex in Miami.

I have a little different take on this. Paisas are very regionalistic. But this applies, maybe to a lesser degree, to Colombians in all regions. The Rolos (Bogotá) take a back seat to no one.

Some of this regionalism is similar to whose high school is better. The Paisas will claim that MDE is the number 1 city in Colombia, but they will do it with a grin.

I haven't been to a Colombian city yet where they didn't think their city was numero uno.

And I actually find the people of Medellin to be quite friendly in general.

I also cannot resist pointing out that the United States is the most affluent and powerful nation in the history of the world. But I don't go around thumping my chest about it until some Paisa begins to bore me with the inevitable rant about supposed Paisa superiority. However, Medellin tends to have the best rubias (if you like rubias).

also for those of you who know colombia well, how does ctg compare to medellin, cali and bogota? thanks for sharing your knowledge.

it's impossible to answer your question because every guy here has they're own distinct preferences and different objectives. however, i'll give you my personal perspective that almost nobody else here will agree with.

first, i've never been to a colombian city that i didn't like. all colombian cities have an unusually large quantity and variety of beautiful women. however, certain looks are more common in certain cities than in other cities. what look are you attracted to?

i go to four colombian cities. barranquiila, cali, cartagena and medellin. barranquilla is my personal favorite, but you will discover that my preference is uncommon. currently, there is an exaggerated medellin craze underway. a few years ago, cali was the craze. a few years from now, some other city will be the craze.

here are my idiosyncratic pet peeves with cali, cartagena and medellin. please keep in mind that i like all of these cities regardless of my pet peeves:

1. cali. safety. currently, safety is more of an issue in cali than in other colombian cities. however, cali has the best nightlife.

2. cartagena. vendors. the ubiquitous vendors in cartagena are beyond obnoxious. however, cartagena tends to have the best morenas (if you like morenas).

3. medellin. arrogance. the people of medellin are unjustifiably arrogant. paisas are "ugly latinos. If you don't have an apartment yet, you are probably out of luck. Prices go sky high.

There are no reasonably priced apartments during that time. And there are probably no vacancies, either. If you want to come during Christmas, you need to reserve 6 months in advance and be prepared to pay double or triple the normal rate.

Hello Fellow Mongers,

Finally got a chance to drop a few lines on my Cartagena trip. Had a great time as always and there are plenty of ladies for all taste. Nothing has change accept the prices for the apartments which are approaching the outrageous range. I guess some people think Cartagena is Miami in my opinion. I ended up renting a one bedroom in Torre Centauro from Mery. It served my purpose of having a place to live for a few days. As far as the ladies I decided to do most of my shopping at LDV because I only had a few days. I did lay some ground work for my return trip with the "non-working" variety you can meet on colombian cupid and other Internet sites. The first girl I took out of ldv was Veronica (not her real name), started out asking for 450k for TLN, Of course I laughed and started the "bs" after some dancing and a couple of drinks the price was 150k. TLN included 4 pops and breakfast in bed. She left about midday and I went on my scouting trip were I meet one nice girl and we had lunch and I will see her when I get back to Cartagena. The rest of my trip was the same except the other girls did not serve breakfast in the morning. Veronica turned out to be the best and I should have stayed with her for my 4 day trip. She was also the only one who allowed photos.
