I think it will be here for awhile. The President is saying he wants it cleaned up. I saw this in DR. The chicas are going to get dealt with I think. It's a shared space. Families, regular tourists, etc. They don't want blatant working girls.

What constitutes seeking is going to be whatever they say. A gringo can't fight the Colombian government. They can see you can leave with this unwanted label now, or sit in jail until we decide to hear your case. Who's going to win that.

They can make the bars stick to the occupancy levels, all the Venezuelans can easily be run off. They're bring in extra cops, military support and talking about deporting people and givthem an undesirable label. This is change. Not a stage.

One thing that could turn into a worry is if they start doing things like they do in some cities in the USA and they start having gorgeous police women start to pose as prostitutes. Personally I think that this should be considered entrapment but they do it all the time. Entrapment is defined as inducing someone to do a crime they would not have otherwise done. So your argument is that if she had not been so sexy I never would have offered her money. Therefor if this partifcular women was not present there would not have been any crime.

The initial stage of the crackdown is supposed to be 12/11 with full effect 12/24. They're talking military support and 11 new checkpoint type deals. Centro, San Diego and Getsemani all basically on heavy enforcement. Per the announcement Foreigners discovered seeking sex tout will be deported and label unwelcome people". How they are going to determine who is seeking is anyone's guess. I won't be back anytime soon.

I think you're right, although there are reports of a crackdown, ultimately the girls will always walk the streets. When I was in Cartagena a few years ago, there was a fair amount of police patrolling around the clock tower; they know what's going on. Even if the girls aren't walking around the square, they'll be in the bars anyway.

I'm interested to hear how it is around there at the moment. I'm planning to return in April.

Since last Saturday no one can stop in the square. They have.

Barricades. Everyone has to keep walking. It'll be interesting to see how it goes win the crackdown hits full swing.

The same that happened to Sosua will happen to Cartagena. Allot of my past Sosua girls got tired of being harassed by police so they went Tinder, Hinge, and OkKupid exclusively. So they just went from their house to the monger then back home, no need to walk up and down the strip risk being arrested or extorted. Girls from Cartagena are already on Tinder and Hinge, some of my regulars no longer walk Centro or work the clubs looking for a Monger and just do it online.

The girls will always be there and the apps will always be there.

This is what we were talking about a few months ago when I was in Cartagena, those American" posse" groups coming on to the beach putting on a big scene making the girls sit on their laps like they were at a strip club all in public. Then the parade continued in the evening if the clock tower taking pictures making a big scene and acting like big shots.

I don't want to tell you I told you so but I told you so. Those large groups of gringos "the posses" were getting out of control, making a scene and here we go. Taking over the Hollywood Beach and acting like it was a strip club and making a scene in public, getting swarmed over the massage ladies, and beach girls. Completely not cool, and it was just a matter of time before people were offended. Throwing dollars out of hotel windows in El Centro would be similar. For some reason these posses lacked enough common sense to be cool....really a shame because they may have ruined it for everybody else!

Yes. That stunt the travel group Paradise Lyfe pulled back in August when I was there was beyond unnecessary. I kept seeing familiar faces but it didn't hit me until I saw this guy at the clock tower wearing a Paradise Lyfe shirt. Then someone mentioned they made flyers for a Delirium meetup, SMH.

I heard that same group did the same shit in Brazil as well but can't confirm.

Then there is the youtube crowd constantly filming and posting things online about it, advertising for everyone to see.
