Thanks for the advice. I usually take cash to mexico and use the ATM machine as needed. Any recommendations on taking cash. Don't want to have too much and be walking around and don't know if it's safe leaving it in an apartment or a hotel. Don't know how reliable the ATM machines are in Cartegena.

In the future you should invest in a Milockie device and some Pacsafe suitcases and such, by them on Ebay they are cheaper. I have stayed at too many places with down right shitty safes or boxes that were run of the mill Sentury letter boxes that one key fits all and or weren't even bolted down. Also invest in a cable to tie all your stuff together to the bed, it is common sense to have all your shit locked away especially if you do TLN.

Davienda gives up to 720, 000 per withdrawal, Servi is 780, 000 but has a 5, 500 fee that is ADDED to amount withdrawn. CitiBank is even more but not sure if the Boca location (Blockbuster) is still open. Contact Juan Ventura for an apartment, most in Laguito are ok for chicas with I'd's. There are many touts for apts, etc, in Cartagena, be careful.

atm machines are as save or as unsave in cartagena as in almost every part of the world (the same type of manipulation is used everywhere. keypads that record your entry, manipulated card readers that record your card's data, hidden cameras etc.). the inconvenience is the limit of 400 000 cop (220 usd) per transaction in most machines. i can overcome this because i have accounts that allow 10 free tranrep001ions per year worldwide which allows to get 4 millions cop per account. usually enough cash because wherever i can i pay with credit card. i know that a number of fellows present in the forum do not use atm or credit cards because of the fraud possibilities. it is a personal choice if you use cards or you carry cash. the apartments i rented in laguito / cartagena had a small safe where i usually keep my valuable including the passport.

Rent an apartment by the beach. Cheaper and bigger than a hotel, they let you bring girls back and it's easy to get into the old part of the city by taxi. Plus the beach areas have nice and reasonably priced places to eat. At night you can hit LDV and just walk with the girl to your pad.

Google BodyTech if the link below doesn't post. There used to be one on carrera 4 across from Carulla market but they moved. Looks like ctg has 2 others now. Very nice gyms. Just ask them about a turista package even if it isn't advertised. They'll work with you.

Oh yeah, I heard the Hilton in Laguito will let you pay for the use of their gym too. Probably expensive but adequate.
