Overall not a bad trip, had to move out of the Atlantis Penthouse and into 504 Mirador after first night, I don't recommend the Atlantis apartment I will leave it at that.

Some good stories most I can't share, well ok one story in a nutshell wingman sent 80 bucks to Medellin girl Western Union to meet him in Cartagena, the girl didn't show up he sat in his apartment already have taken his viagra and sporting wood. I damn near died laughing, I can't imagine any girl showing up after only getting 80 dollars, it is a net loss with the 2 taxis food and a one way ticket even taking VivaColombia.

Ok one more story the owner of a penthouse tried getting in a fight with Tony at the beach, too drunk to stand up, fell down several times, Tony had to dress him and carry him back afterward, apparently he left his computer out and one of Tony's girls took his laptop, fucking idiot.

Went to Playa Linda, Playa Blanca more on that later with pics.

September is supposed to be slowest month being rainy and such, rain hung over Centro and the main city most of the time I was there but not at the beach.

The Intercontinental is coming along maybe another year or so.

Tony was his usual self he tried to fill me in on all the bullshit but I already knew.

Overall quality of beach girls I would say was up from December the last I was there.

Hot as hell a few of the days I was there 100 plus heat index easy.

Question: I'll be in Cartagena for New Year's Eve, the basic room at the Hilton costs 360 USD in that period. I wouldn't go for a mid-level hotel, but I would choose an apartment if I get better value for money. In Kiev for instance you'd have to be an idiot to book a hotel, when you have luxury apartments in the center (jacuzzi included) at less than USD 100 per night (vs 300 USD for a nice hotel).

Can anyone tell me what the NICE apartments (I mean nicely decorated inside, internet, proper furniture) in the NICE areas cost (I mean either in the very center, or in the nightlife center)? And kindly pass me some links where I can check photos and book.

Sorry I got my prices mixed up in last report when I said $100 I meant 100 Mil peso. Anyway last night I was in the apartment and got 2 unexpected home deliveries. OK. This is a bit unusual, but where can I find the best restaurants. You know, Zagats style. Ambiance, food, decor, and price. Not just looking for the highest price places, but great food service, etc.

Cartagena has a variety of options, if you would like a nice combination of food, atmosphere and reputation for you and a date to enjoy go with a well known palce like La Vitrola or Club Pesca de Manga. La Vitrola will require reservations for sure unless you get there right when they open for dinner (7?) and really sweet talk the host to seat you early. Pesca is not as crowded but I would actually advise calling well in advance and asking them for a table that hangs out over the water. You will be set back 150, 000-250, 000 COP at either place, depending on how much you like to drink.
