A few days ago the government announced that any foreigners found partying after curfew would be deported. Reason was because over 60 Venezuelans were caught partying after curfew so now the law applies to all foreigners. But good thinking. Also they are pulling people over doing drug checks. Had it happen to me last year going from the clock tower to El Laguito. Me and my boy got checked and the girls got checked.

Not 100% sure, but I think it was $80 (no more than $90) my buddy and I paid for a very nice 2 bdrm with a large balcony, plenty of hot water, and ocean view in Laquito. It wasn't luxurious but it was clean and nicely appointed. No regrets.

On several occasions I have been socially conversing with locals constantly reiterating how expensive the area is for people to live in comparison to other areas in the country.

That is why after the first time, I have only been to Cartagena for day trips from Barranquilla to go to Playa Blanca. I don't hang around in poorer countries to pay richer country prices. The island of San Andres is even cheaper than Cartagena. I found that to be a shocker.
