From several past trips, Tinder is the best tool besides actually walking the clock or Going to the clubs. I agree with being careful of putting your location there too early as I have had it where girls are leaving in 2-3 weeks. But it's nice to be able to have a list of girls to text hey what's up, come over. Hahaha.

I posted a lot of negative stuff last week on this board on Cartagena. My post was kind of a snap judgement that was too harsh on the place. Food poisoning has just completely ruined my first week and a half here. I just now feel fully recovered. Am hoping I can have a few drunks tonight actually without triggering an all day bathroom marathon session. I have eating street food all over the world with no issues. Raw oysters left pit in the sun are a different beast though. I finally figured put I had contracted Vibrio. And the strongest version of it. With a little google detective work I figured out the correct combo of antibiotics to kill this evil stomach bug. Doxcyline plus doxeff. I spent like $150 on a week supply of both but after the first day of 300 MG doxiclylne and 200 MG of doxeff, felt immediately better. Vibrio is no effing joke.

Anyways since that post I have grown to appreciate the historical and geographical relevance / value of this city. There is no doubt that the walled city is beautiful at night time. I love hanging around there and enjoying the sunsets at / around cafe de mars even attending the church mass there and just hanging around.

However, with that being said. A lot of the negatives in my post still stand. The biggest thing is the amount of scammers and how aggressive they are. I lived on boca chica beach for 2 months. I can handle those kind of hustlers. Here in Cartagena its another level though both in the walled city and on Bocagrande. Beach ir just heck anywhere walking around.

Because they keep coming and coming and never accept no for an answer. Also they tend to force you into scams here. Example you can be lost and one will walk beside you playing music and ignore your requests to leave then next thing you know 3 of his friends have joined and they are all demanding money for their "music. " This is just 1 example. The massage women on Bocagrande are another although they are much easier to fend off.

The amount if money is usually small but its just downright exhausting fending these hucklers off every step you take anywhere in this city. I mean I even respect their hustle but damn. And some of them get visibly upset / angry when you decline them. I just think new people should know this about this place. I personally much prefer to be in a place like Thailand where I can nonchalantly look at the women and choose.

Also. Maybe this is low season? But I feel the volume of working women is low overall and you have to pursue them almost like you would a normal girl in a club. I dunno maybe its hard to comment accurately because I still haven't been out enough.

With that being said, the non pro girls are excel here and very beautiful. They require a shit tone of online chatting and patience though. Got 3 dates lined up this week including one tonight. Nearby cities like Barranquilla and Santa Marta seem like absolute gold mines for online dating. I don't even see the need for a pro scene if you lived in Barranquilla.

If I don't take my date home tonight I guess ill sample the pro scene again tonight. Its a shame you have to deal with hardcore hustlers around the clock tower area though just trying to walk anywhere. This place isn't a shithole though. Its just very very different and a bit extreme at times.

Yeah, I only had two decent leads on SA in CTG versus a huge number in Bogota and Medellin. I think the way you play SA is find a woman you like in those cities versus CTG itself and fly them down. Flights are cheap.

I had some luck, though not nearly as much as in the big two cities, with Barranquilla. All the women I met in Barranquilla were down to take the bus to CTG.

Thing is the first time I went to CTG I did not like it that much. The airport looked like one in trashy Caribbean banana republics. Yeah, the beach was dirt not sand. The water was not the shimmering shades of blue like Cancun. In addition, during the rainy season, the roads flood and traffic can be awful especially at rush hour. Besides SA being bad, I went to the clock tower three separate times around 9 PM and did not see a single woman for sale. Granted, once when I went to the clock tower, there was a 9 PM curfew but still I expected to see at least one. If my GF had not pointed out to me two hos walking (to the clock tower) I presume, I would have seen none.

Thing is each time I went there were sites that took my breath away. On my second trip, it was staying at the Hyatt and just watching the pelicans out the window as they dive bombed for fish. I literally could have just sat and watched that all day. And yeah, the beach was not great, but the climate was great. On my last trip which I just got back from, it was cloudy and the temperature was perfect. I have been there when it is hot and yeah, it can get hot, but the weather with clouds was perfect.

I had seen the walled city and walked around it the first few trips, but this time I went to the castle. The view was amazing, and once more, I saw swarms of these green love birds flying in perfect formation. Then there was the sunset and what a show that was. Just amazing..

Really cool to read that you found something like that down there. Doesn't always have to be about running through multiple chicks a weekend, even though that is awesome. Keep us posted and hope it works out long term for you bro.

I just come back from Cartagena and I must say I was very disappointed by mongering in Cartagena. I spent most of the time in Centro and historic area. Too many tourists. I did most of my mongering on Seeking Arrangement (SA) and was very disappointed with the qualities of the girls. They were expensive and not so hot. Many of them say they are in CART but actual lies they are living 45 minutes or more away from the city. I met one girl and she didn't look anything like her photos. So I sent her home. I didn't see much street actions, but I was also not going outside after 8 pm. So I don't know if there are pretty street women.

Maybe others have different CART strategy, but looking on SA was not good. I had much better luck in Medellin and Bogot on SA. The only time I had sex in CART was with the left hand.

Finally, we capped off the night at Di Silvio's. Now I should point out that I was giving the GF shit about Colombian cuisine. I even told her the best food in Colombia was from Peru or other places, so she was going to change my mind. She lives in Bogota but was born and raised in CTG.

As for Di Silvio's, have you ever had a salad that you thought was amazing before? It was ridiculously simple: lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and vinaigrette but the ingredients were so fresh. They make their own pasta and I will have that next time for sure. That night I had a chicken dish that was called something else like chicken pizza but was chicken parmesan. It was the best chicken parm I have ever had. The only thing average was the potatoes. I cannot wait to go back and try the pasta and pizza.

The following day we decided to go by boat to the Rosario Islands. We picked a place where we could got a few hours. The place we went was like on an inside cove. There were very few waves. The beach was not the white sand you see in Clearwater Florida or Cancun but it was nicer than Bocagrande. The water was so clear you could see the bottom easily. Are their better beaches? Sure. But two of my favorites were Tulum and Cancun and they have been hit by smelly seaweed and have been IMO very badly ruined.

We get a meal with our trip. It was fresh red snapper and coconut rice. Man oh man was that good. I was forced to grovel with my GF. This is real Colombian cuisine, and I love it. The boat trip was 45 minutes or 90 round trip and I can see all the hotels on the island from the boat. There are a lot of places that we could check out in the future.

When I was in the USA, I showed a fellow worker a pic of my GF. He asked me how much I was helping her out. I said nothing. He said, "Just you wait, when she asks, it is going to be a big ask. ".

The next day, she called about something she said would have been good news in the past. She was offered a job in a town two hours North of Bogota and it had no airport. She was afraid if she took the job we would be done. I thought about the big ask and said to her, "How much are you getting paid per month?" bracing for the answer. She said $700, and I let out a sigh. I told her I could cover that and now we were free to move anywhere in the country. I told her I was paying $700 per month just in hotel rooms. I thought about all the cities we / I had been to and it was easy to pick the one I wanted to visit her in, Cartagena. There is so much more I wanted to explore there.

From a hobbying point of view, Bogota is bigger and better. Medellin has the prettiest women, but I feel the best in CTG. In Bogota, two days in, my sinuses start bugging me. I am not sure if it is the pollution or pollen but it always hits. Then there is the altitude. Sometimes, it is not a bother but this time I felt it.

I should like Medellin but I felt the women there were almost all short term stripper types trying to get every penny they could out of you. Dramafree wrote that Colombian women are constantly saying how hot they are and it is a turnoff for him (and for me), but I only noticed that in Medellin. I feel better in Medellin than Bogota, but I liked CTG more. I just did not like how damp Medellin felt when I was there.

As for getting there, the flights I took were on American and not that busy yet. I flew from Houston to Miami and got off there, reclaimed my luggage, and rechecked it in. Colombia is gate 1, and it is the furthest walk from baggage claim. I was not able to print both of my boarding passes and had to physically check in. You can fly from Houston to Cartagena directly and have your bags checked through, but the price was double. While Miami is massive in comparison to Lauderdale, the airport itself is much nicer IMO. They have modernized it at least the parts I saw.

I had time to check into the Centurion lounge and get a meal and found a place to relax. The Amex Platinum is $695 per year and you can use the lounges if you are flying that day. If you use all the benefits though, it is a great value. I have been to these lounges five times in the last three months (cost would probably be $250 if I paid out of pocket). Also there are rebates on Uber and on Global Entry. Global Entry is the best $100 I ever spent. I have never spent more than 5 minutes clearing customs, and you get free TSA precheck with it. If you travel a lot, you will be net positive with this card. The perks are worth it if you use them.

So my flight was 2+ hours to Miami and 2+ from Miami to CTG, and they were easy trips. I flew United back direct from Bogota to Houston and it was 5 hours and we were packed in like sardines. It was a much rougher trip.

I have not mongered in CTG but I would expect prices to be higher because like Cancun and Miami, there are tourists to be fleeced. I have not fallen victim to a scam yet because I have been with a local, but I expect to find my share of tourist traps.

You will have to buy the 1 month trial of Tinder Plus for $10 local currency equivalent then set your location to Cartagena though. Pro tip, start swiping the week before your travel date, if you start too early you may get disappointed that they won't be there when you get there.

But I strongly advise you to just go to Playa Hollywood in the day time (Sundays afternoons are best) or for night time check the Clocktower, Space, Dolce, or Delirium after 9 pm.

The reason I advise walking and picking what you want because many of these chicas are taking angle pictures that hides their stomachs or hide how fat they are. Or they are posting pictures before they gained weight or pictures before having a baby. So when they show up looking like totally different you end up being that monger that have to tell her no and loose out on time or make the best out of out it. I now get around this by video chatting through whatsapp as video chatting through Tinder never seem to work as the connection fails randomly.

For those who don't know, right now curfew is gone but things have changed after covid started. Right now clubs close at 2 am AND the tower is cleared at 2 am. The surrounding streets are also cleared. Everyone is asked to go home. So if you going to get something, get it before 2 am cause they start clearing like clockwork at 2 am.

Space has a more Latin vibe with electric dance music whereas Delirium has a mix of hip-hop, afrobeats, and Reggaeton. I haven't been to Dolce vida cause I know the price point and I trying to barter. Might walk in to show my friends what it looks like then I'll leave. One of them likes hip-hop so he wants to hear that, I say them stay in your room and listen on your headphones. Try to embrace their culture (Chicas) and watch them dance to their music. You get to see the dead ones from the fun ones. I like the dancers. They are very fun when we get back to mi casa. I spent 2 weeks in Cartagena last month. Had an absolute blast! Whatsapped chicas I met last trip, got a couple of winners from Tony on the beach. He's a pain but he does come through. Its a high end feel. Filled with fancy stores. Seems more like a window shopping vacation to the locals who have money. It was the highlight to a few chicas I took there at night as it seems like they never been (or maybe they are just good at actin like they never been jajaja). Although I had to remind them to not dress like a puta because of where we are going to chill for the night. If you are going to do Andreas steak house make sure to have reservations or you can be waiting outside for a long time standing up.

Yeah that's the mall. Real nice mall. I'll have to try the dinner there rather than something in El Centro. We stood in the center and tried to figure out what kind of show they had there.

San Diego is a hidden gem. The bigger Exito is across from the mall. Locals partying at night leaving their doors open. Saying Hi as we walk by. My last spot was real close to the clock tower but the spot I got is better even though it's further out. Stumbled onto it our first day when the original airbnb lost hot water and then all water. New Host came through like a champ. Let us check in first night and came to get us from the original place. As we walked around San Diego , i saw other spots that were Airbnb that might be on my list soon

I loved the area. The only issue I have with the AirBBs in that area is once you are in the top level of that mall and they roll the shades up at sunset, you can look down and see the rooftop pools of all the surrounding apartments. One of the chicas pointed out a building and said it was a old woman's prison, then right next to it was some guys with a girl playing naked in a pool. It is a little further out about a 10 minute walk to the clock tower. The AirBBs in that area are more pricey.

It was odd, we walked in to see people gathering around in a circle and security telling people no it enter the center. I was thinking there was going to be circus performers or something but then when all the metal plates in the floor that was covering the water jets opened I understood what was about to happen and pulled out my phone to record.

I believe the fountain light show is everyday. When we stumbled upon it, it was at 7 pm. It was synched to "Time to say Goodbye" and when it got to the highlight of the song the middle water jet shot straight up through the opening in the roof. I was highly impressed, even the chica that was with me was impressed as she's never seen it and she lives in Cartagena jajaja.
