My first experience in Santa Marta and Cartagena

This is my report of stays in Cartagena, by the way I am still here.

After last few years in Brazil I thought I would try something different this year, so I decided to come to Columbia. Usually I stay 2-3 months a year and I'm from EU.

I spent the first 10 days in Santa Marta, nice town, beautiful surroundings and that's all, there's not much to do for the rest, a few girls are sitting around the parq del los Novios, and I went to Banana club once. I didn't like this one, and also the Dubai club once, which is always almost empty, there are about 10 girls in it. I scored 2 girls during my stay in SM.

I arrived in Cartagena around December 25 and went around 10 am. The center, there were girls everywhere, around the clock, surrounding streets. I then went to Dolce Vita for the first time, it was busy, lots of girls, I thought it was great, I thought the drinks were expensive, Jack Daniels-cola 50,000 pesos, by the way that's everywhere the price in Centro. I then went to Space, which was also full, but I thought it was too small and too dark inside. So for me the first day in Cartagena was great, lots of girls, also many exit opportunities, and I thought this is nice to stay for a few weeks.

I was in my apartment in Bocogrande, so the next day I went to the beach to Hollywood beach. I got there around 1:00 PM, so had a drink and something to eat and then around 3:00 PM a lot of people arrived. Working girls, also a few that I have seen in the city. I always sat around Caliwood bar, always enjoy it there and still do. Every day around 50 working girls come there.

Next days I also went to Imperium, there are a few girls but fairly empty. Also went to Dilerium, which is full, lots of black American boys and American Rap music, which I didn't like as much. Also went to Rooftop, there is also a bit of local and working mixed. The prices that girls ask are 300,000 but some girls asking more.

Until New Year I found it all interesting. On January 1, I came to Toren, everything had been converted with fences, a lot of police on the street and very few girls on the street. Days after that, all the above mentioned people left. Bars closed Dolce, Space, Imperium, Delerium and they are still closed. This days you have girls on the streets, no longer around the Clock but those streets around Dilerium. But I still find something different than before, there is a different atmosphere in the city.

Cartagena is a beautiful old city, very expensive, many pushy sellers, crazy taxi drivers and Cartagena can also feel unsafe sometimes, and use Uber and don't take taxis just like that. I found other countries in Latin America more safer than here. Am thinking of moving to Medellin. My first experience in Cartagena.

Form what I've gathered from my chicas as they went to Centro Thursday and Friday night, it appears that the clubs are open in Centro but girls aren't allowed inside the clubs unless they are with a man and Police aren't allowing girls to walk around in groups or stand around looking like hookers.

So its basically the same shit they do every Christmas season when they try to keep the girls who are working away from the decorated tourist areas, but if those same girls are out with their family its not a problem.
Thanks for the update, any action in getsemani? Heard about bar etico.

The governor of Bolivar is in on the act now. I've never seen Centro so organized as I did last night.

Rather, The mayor is trying to force it out of the center (downtown), or the words they used "suppress" it in the center.

I just heard from girls on the street that all clubs in El Centro are closed. Girls are walking the streets but it's a normal slow Wed night and the aren't many guys around, so the girls are going home. Girls are starting to get worried now cause they don't know when they going to eat again. Looks like they are going to have to lower their prices to start to attract the mongers back to the Cartagena.
The words he used are correct. It can be illegal there but not in the rest of the country. Same for drugs substances as said in the press article.

It's a very clever move and even if I did enjoy in the past mongering in Cartagena, the US tourists have completely fucked up the market, paying far too much. I now hope girls will all move to Medellin. Medellin is a rip off as well so mongers will carry on being ripped off.

It's a big beach front tourist trap set up to rip off gringos for every peso they can get whether that be at over priced hotels in boca grande (Cartagena's version of Cancun's Zona Hotelera) or 20 mil bottles of water or beer on the beach, or street girls charging 250 mil for a 40 mil fuck.

And I believe at one time Cancun had a street prostitution zone similar to Zona Norte in Tijuana or la Merced in CDMX but the government there shut it down to appear to be a more family oriented tourist trap, and then all the prostitution moved online. Sounds like Cartagena is doing the exact same thing now.

These tourist beach cities should be avoided like the plague, they have high concentrations of English speaking tourists acting stupid, high prices on anything and everything, aggressive taxi drivers manipulating their prices, higher crime rates targeting gringo foreigners, and they do not offer the real experience of their respective countries.

If you want to experience real Mexico go to Guanajuato or Puebla, not fucking Cancun, and if you want to experience real Colombia go to Villavicencio or Ibague. If you want to get ripped of and pestered by aggressive venders while surrounded by a bunch of other English speaking gringo sheep then by all means go to Cartagena and Cancun.
Real bummer, I just went my 1st time ever 2 weeks ago and loved it. Two of my Dolce girls have stopped texting back, both Venezuelans. I liked how relatively safe Centro is and so close to Dolce Vita. For now I think will have to see how the next 2 months, 2 months of rent squeeze out old or bring in new girls. As well as if the talent quality will suffer, I never liked the true street girls so if there's no high volume Dolce / Space then Cartagena is off my list a while. Medellins already so pricy, and Bogota is cheaper but SF is more dangerous.

Hopefully we get field reports in the next few weeks.

I was able to find a week stay at an Airbnb in a decent location and usually with hot water for around $300. Don't see that anymore. Monthly stays I was seeing around $700, not seeing that anymore either. I guess if you're just staying a few days it's not ridiculously higher. But the pricing of houses / condos / apartments has shot up in general.

Most of those condos don't allow girls anyway. There are still a lot of budget hotels that the girls rent for incalls. That may become an even bigger thing if the owners are smart to take advantage.

The chicas are typically dressed very immodestly which is a dead giveaway. Also, in regular times, the girls would openly discuss sex for money in the presence of Colombian police. Just cracking down on these two things will reduce the ladies there.

Because they do not keep a low profile. They are loitering (standing around without a purpose) and looking like hookers. Maybe you are not there all the time, but if the same cops are, then they see the same chicks standing around the same places for hours every night dressed like hookers. It is not hard to figure. I think the charge is more so loitering than prostitution though.

The street walkers are already in Boca Grande and El Laguito, normally in groups of 2's and 3's not in mass like clocktower.

It won't be much of a big deal as there are other places in Centro the girls are. They are just targeting the 3 main clubs.

Clocktown Pub, VSOP, Imperio, Bronx Afro house, El Portal, El Mirordor, are still places to find the girls. Atlanta Hookar Bar And Osais Rooftop are last resort options as well but hardly anyone goes there.

I've also met girls at Plaza de la Trinidad in Getsemani, Butterfly Street and Umbrella Street due to there are some sweet ass AirBB in that area. The doors look like some abandoned building but once you step inside its night and day. Stayed in Casa Mango, Lemon, Pineapple, all was nice.

If this was not a publicity stunt just for pictures and the three main clubs do close until further notice, based on the same type of music that attracts the same type of crowd:

The Delurium crowd will go to VSOP and El Portal.

The Dolce crowd will go to El Mirodor and Clock Town Pub.

The Space crowd will go to Imperio and Bronx Afro House.

Sounds like Cartagena is moving backwards and Medellin is moving forwards.

Hope you guys enjoy the barriers we sent you, they'll be arriving via servientrega within the next few days and this Tumak Durbay prick will have to pay the delivery fees by raising taxes and fees, great job LOL.
That fucked up and funny at the same time jajaja. I forgot that they had the barriers up at Plaza Botero in Medellin and it didn't work there so I don't know why this new mayor think its going to work at the Clock Tower jaja.
