You say you are staying in El Laguito on 1 B. Just where the road forks at the northern end of the El Laguito area there is a place called Riquisimo BBQ. It doesn't look like much and I am not saying they are gourmet but they have a wood burning grill and do a pretty good flame broiled "baby beef" served Argentinian style with chimichurri, ( about ten dollars US)I would not recommend any other steak here its kind of tough, the baby beef is good though. They do other things to of course and the fresh fish that comes off their grill is decent also. I have found myself at Riquisimo a lot while staying in El Laguito because it stays open later than most places that close at 10 pm.

Sorry but I am not a big fan of Ceviche, but ironically the one place that I tried it was a restaurant in Cartagena, I prefer my seafood grilled or scampi. The place that I tried Ceviche in Cartagena is long gone since that was 2008.

this place is right near the clock tower has maintained a perfect 5 rating out of over 900 hundred reviews ( it must be the shit) ! So if you want ceviche than I am betting this would be the place. One of the reviews said Anthony Bourdain (RIP) made the place famous and another review said the prices are fair but the servings are small. Looks to right on Plaza de Los Coches near the Hard Rock Cafe - Hell I did not even like ceviche the one time I tried it but I may even try it here the next time I visit

    Thank you

I have stayed in Costa Rica, Panama, and several places in Mexico but this is shaping up to be the one place I will repeat. Looking forward to it. Will be there on the 4th. Perhaps I can buy some of my fellow mongers a drink.

I had originally downloaded Tender and even paid for Tender Gold so I could start trawling Cartagena before I left to go down there, but truth be told I did not find as many quality chicas on there as are going to standing right in front of you in the Plaza de LOS Coches by the clocktower or in the clubs. To me it was actually a waste of money.

I am just surveying from two thousand miles away and the devastation this virus has brought is crazy. One example is a place I was introduced to by chica I met on Latinamerican Cupid on my first trip a dozen years ago called Mila Postres. I always made it a point to visit this place for their tacos and then a coffee drink with some type of dessert because that's what they specialized in, the local chica that took me their originally back 2008 said it was famous all over Colombia. From all the delivery and take out boxes that looked like Tiffany boxes lining the walls I would think they were booming before the virus.

On that street the place with the grill outside is a pretty good.

Carbon de Pollo on Calle 6 is very good-- meats and typical Colombian plates at $10-$15, La Dulceria on Cra 2 across the street is also good. And there are quite a few Lebanese places around.

All the cool people go to Juan Valdez near there. LOL.

To save space, I'm not going to quote Mojo's post again, just suffice it to say that the current information being tossed about amply demonstrates my long time belief that the only place to get realtravel info is this board and its predecessors years ago. Between guys who are having $5000 nights in FKKs or tweakers banging in a smelly chickenshack in Poipet, you can find everything you need to know about food, drink, directions, etc. Far better than Lonely Planet or Trip Advisor.

So what's the vagrant, beggar, peddler situation like? The amputee beggars / peddlars here in Siem are far worse than anywhere I have ever been, not that they are annoying, its just sad, especially when they are widows. I usually allocate $5 a day for them.

Stay away from Muele. Terrible service for a pricey place.

My idea of dining in Cartagena is about pussy. Here is a referral for hungry folks, https://celelerestaurante.com/.
