Cartagena no question. I just got back, haven't been able to post the report but I think the selection of women is better. Security isn't a problem. I had a blast.

I'd like a private apartment. The big blocks with the big receptions look like it could be a pain getting the chica's past the doormen. Some AirBnB places are saying Guest "fine" of $25.00 etc.

So I guess I'm going to email a lot of owners asking about their "guest policy". But does that even work, as the people on AirBnB are often agents or companies, the default answer could be "no", yet in reality the security could be nodding the chica's through.

Should I choose Cartagena or Dominican Republic?

I want a place with a good street walker scene, and a good selection of hooker bars. I'd like a selection of MP's or bordello's as well, but they're not my first port of call, a street scene is more successful for my style, as long as its not a total car crash of a place, druggie and tranny infested. I don't generally care about to strip clubs, someone else can "make it rain. ". I've never really ordered online, bait and switch or 10 year old photos are just too prevalent in my view.

At DarrenGap: Just a reminder, end of February in 2020 is Carnaval with 21 to 29 for Rio. Given costs were not an issue, the choices are # 1 Brazil, followed by # 2 Colombia, followed by # 3 Dom Rep. Lodging costs though are triple for Carnaval dates in Brazil. Overall, I would go for Colombia, you can hit Barranquilla for couple of days also.

I was in Cartagena for the first time in 2010, and I was there last week. I think the Clock Tower scene has gotten better, I think the new LDV is not as good of a place to move around and chat up chicas, it is too cramped but the Chicas are still there and Fine as ever, of all complexions and flavors, I can't be sure but I think I pay less now then I did then due to the change in peso usd exchange rate.

The old LDV (inside some kind of square by a casino if memory serves) wasn't much of a venue either. Hanging out just outside I could judge the girls better. My best scores came from Tony (yes true) and some pimp I met in the clock tower. I remember his girls tits to this day, decades later. But I'm there for the fems so I don't really care.

Its looking like Cartagena wins on a combo of available chica's, reasonable quality accommodation and environment, and day to day fun. And its practical for a solo monger.

Private apartment rental looks like the way to go. Seems like 250 k is the current median price for a couple of hours of sexy time. When I was last there Getsemeni was a the edge of the civilized area. Old crones and ladrones used to sit out at the start of the sketchy area like sentries, but I understand that areas had a brush with the renovators and is quite the place now. I mean fck-me google streetmap for CTG.

The block I stayed in has been renovated. I couldn't get hot water wherever I stayed. And my air con froze solid after a couple of hours use. I'm guessing the move upmarket will bring me better options on that front.

I see a lot of big new apartment rentals like the apartmentos palmetto beach on calle 1 in bocagrande. How do they deal with renters "guests". Different guests every day, etc. Does the security make a big fuss of taking the girls ID etc? Or do i just sweep back with my girl and they say "good evening sir..."? On my last visit block security couldn't have been more helpful, I bought them some tins of beer and we were best mates.

Rio would come in second, but I don't want to do the carnival thing, too much hassle, too much additonal costs, Another year I'll sort a direct flight to rio out and revisit that latin paradise.

Sheer numbers and availability is the primary motivator, Cartagena was great for spanishy looking vixens 10 years ago, don't know if that's still going on now round the clock tower. Street walkers, beach girls and LDV girls were the targets then, but I do get the impression quality and quantity has fallen, and prices have gone up. Anyone confirm?

I've never been to Dominican Republic, I'd say Santo Domingo may be better for me now Sosua is under the thumb, no streetwalkers, no bordellos, and only a couple of hooker bars (albeit good ones by all accounts).

It seems we're an endangered species. The list of countries where mongering has changed for the worse goes on and on. Costa Rica, Cuba, Colombia, its happening now in DR reading between the lines. Even Brazil and rio isn't the crazy scene it was when I went to Helpee disco back in the day.

I've got my african backstop countries, but sometimes I'd like to go a place where they can cook a steak, and the street meat doesn't look like it was dragged through a hedge backwards.

So Cartagena or Santo Domingo which would be better for my style of mongering or even Sosua if I've underestimated it.

I've considered Medellin or Bogota, my instincts tell me Santa Fe would be great in daytime, possibly dangerous for a solo middle aged gringo after dark. Safety has to play a little part in any decision, as I'm not the young gun I was.

Or in fact, if there's a country that is like Colombia or Cuba 10 years ago, then please let me in on that secret.

Thanks everyone for the information. I got to test out my Google translate skills in Sosua earlier this year and luckily it worked for what I needed it to do. If the level of English is pretty low regardless of the city, I guess I might just try my luck at Medellin as I at least won't be dealing with a coastal tourist town that's probably set up for gringo prices. It's also good to hear that BBBJ is apparently commonplace in your guys' experiences? That was the biggest knock I had on Sosua. The chicas down there were hardened pros that were mechanical and largely didn't offer BBBJ. Hoping the Colombian chicas live up to their wild reputations!

I was originally thinking of trying Medellin, but several vets have told me Medellin is a bit difficult if you don't know Spanish and Cartagena might be more manageable albeit more expensive. Though, on the point of being much more expensive, I've found the rates quoted to be inconsistent at best. I have seen some prepagos advertise in the 100-200 k range for an hour and that more or less seems like what is asked in Medellin, too.

Most guys who do to Colombia just rely on Google Translator. Very few Chicas speak English. Very few taxi drivers speak English. The street address system is tricky, this you write down for taxi drivers.

I picked up one chica near the clock tower who was ok in the face but her body was OMG, she said she was 24, she had perfectly round titties and I discovered to my delight they were real, I offered her 150 k and she did BBBJ, great chica. It's where tourists go. If you stay in Getsemani you'll here plenty of english spoken by tourists there. It's right outside the old city and upscale. There are no prostitutes there and if you take a chica to places there make sure she's dressed normally.

That being said, ALL over Colombia people primarily speak Spanish. A vast majority learn a little English in school and not much more. There's no need for it.
