Returning to Cartagena next month, last visit was 2017, staying at Charleston and Hilton Hotels. I don't see too much point in staying near the beach this time and want to stay in Centro. I've been thinking about staying at the Sofitel but heard that they do not allow visitors which means I cannot bring girls back to the hotel, can anyone confirm? I realize that at hotels like the Hilton there is usually a fee which I don't mind paying, I just don't want to be at a place where I cannot have visitors. I generally like to party with girls in hotel room. Hope someone can help.

Very limited options in Centro.

El Laguito is only a 5 minute cab ride for $3.

Plenty of condos to hang out with your guests and not have a hassle bringing them in, as long as they have ID.

I was in MDE from Jan. 28th to Feb. 21st. I was supposed to stay another week there, but things had changed so bad from my last visit so I decided to leave early, and head for the DR. Turns out the ticket was to expensive so I went to CTG. I have always had a great time in CTG so I said what the hell, and gave it a try.

I agree with everything you said. Only difference for me was the one day I spent at the beach with Tony turned out to meet a lot of good looking talent that he brought over. They all wanted 250 K for an hour, but there was one that was a very nice Morena who asked for 200 K. I took here, and for a small tip she gave me the BBBJ that is so important for me. As far as the beach the water seemed a little better than the last time I was there. Also the water was warm. With all the new Gringo's in CTG it still is ok with me. Elektra is closed

The tout explained to me that Elektra is gone but there are two new clubs opening soon on the same street as LDV. The chicas I talked to didn't seem to know about any places opening up. I got different responses on why Elektra is gone. Some said the owners ran out of money and some other say it was the cops. Who knows.

Playa Hollywood

The famous playa hollywood didn't fair much better. I heard it got raided recently and the cops took away some of the hookers. Consequently there were few chicas in the afternoon. Again, take that bit of news with a grain of salt.

Making the best of it

I've been going to Cartagena every 3 months for 3 years now. I've mostly come to know what to expect and this time it surprised me. Recently finished my 3rd trip in Cartagena. I'm always amazed at the magic of the city. It's truly enchanted. This time. All of the action seemed to be relegated to watch tower, LDV & Space. And there were many 9's in that bunch, top-level talent throughout the night. However, I used to love hitting up Club Pley on my first trip. And the last two times I've been in Cartagena it's been closed. Are they only open on selective nights? Weekends? I went on a Sunday and Monday and it was dead. Overall, I enjoyed the city but prefer Medellin for the variety. I've heard Panama City is just as good if not better for mongering than Cartagena. May have to give that a try.

I am new to this forum and have never been to Col however after reading your report I am pumped. You are a gifted writer.

As far as tourism is concerned Cartagena is definitely the new Costa Rica destination.

Exactly, it is the ebb and flo of normal circulation, just like when I troll for street walkers, at times I will go around the corner and come back by an area 15 minutes later and it looks like a whole new prospect of opportunities came out of no where. Come back to the clock tower a different day and it can and does look like business as usual.
