Second that. Sosua is very easy to get to from NYC, it's compact, has a nice beach, great food scene, and enough chicas to keep you busy. Of course, people end up loving it or hating it, which the enclosed link will illustrate, LOL.

That is true, but the fee I pay with my regular debit card from my bank, nothing special, just the plain Maestro card given to plain account holders, is only 3 USD (2.5 EUR), fixed fee at each withdrawal from a bank which is not mine, including all foreign banks. This is the standard fixed fee system at least in my country, if not in most European countries.

That's just 1. 5% of what I withdraw most commonly. I consider it acceptable, way more convenient that spending the time and hassle to get a special debit card from Charles Schwab (which is an American thing, BTW). Others may make a different balance of their own time vs. 3 USD per withdrawal.

That's pretty good. I'm in the US, and when I used my US debit cards before, I usually got hit with 2 charges, from the local ATM and from my own bank. I remember I once withdrew money from Santander in Spain with my US Santander debit card and then found 2 charges totaling I think $8-9. Tried to contest it with my bank home, but got nowhere. They are different entities, operate independently, blah, blah, blah.

Use the credit cards to purchase goods (e.g. at restaurants) and use cash to pay mongering, but get your cash from ATMs using a DEBIT CARD. Avoid using a credit card to get advance cash from ATMs (in this case, you get the best rate as when you withdraw with the debit card, or when you pay with credit card purchasing a good, but you pay 4% fee for the advance cash withdrawal service, as basically they are lending you money).
Should we repeat this once a day?

I just got back from a 10-day trip to Cartagena. This marks my two year anniversary of visiting the city every three months for fucking purposes. This time around I got to try out a chiva (party bus), playa Linda (a solitary beach), and shared most of my time between two chicas and their friends. I got a cold from one chica so half way through I kept my partying and drinking to a minimum so as not to fuck too much with my immune system.

A Tale of Two Chicas

Interesting times we live in. After landing, I went through my Whatsapp and responded to a Colombia chica I was banging the last time I was in town. She's very sweet. Typical, and I mean typical, Colombian from the coast: always smiling, easy going, down to fuck all the time, low maintenance, and boy does she clean up real good. If I send her home to get dressed for dinner she comes back looking like a slutty movie star. We ended up buying tickets to a chiva (party bus), and went twice out to the islands.

A couple of nights we had a "fight" and I sent her packing. The first one was totally her fault: she thought it was a good idea to take me to Elektra and parade me to the other chicas as if I was exclusive to her. I did not like that at all. So I took her back to my place and gave her a bit of a dressing down. The second "fight" I had with her was my fault. We had come back from Punta Arenas and I was beyond drunk. The only thing that kept me from sinking to the bottom of the ocean was my tout telling me not to smoke anymore ganja. The chica had come out with me and I had her friends join us later. It was a blast.

The second chica I was fucking was a Venezualan. This chica is built to fuck. Great ass. If you get her drunk she wants to fuck all night and gets upset if you run out of juice. She'd been there for six months and was heading back to Venezuela for a week. The downside is she's all business when sober. I once came really fast and she wanted more money for a second fuck. I was like, no I don't think so.

I was bare backing her like a bull, and she even offered anal. Unfortunately, I think six months of hooking was too much for her. She'd become hardened. Even suspicious: asking me the first time we went back to my apartment if I was alone there.

Which brings me to the "interesting times" comment I made earlier. What the fuck is up with jealousy in Cartagena these days? The chicas all expected me to be some kind of novio to them. They'd act offended if I went to fuck another chica. On a couple of occasions the chicas were staring each other down over me. I completely did not like this at all. I am "muy perro" as they say or "very dog" but come on I don't owe anyone any exclusivity. Maybe I'm being too open about it but I don't see how that's avoidable.

My previous Venezuelan became very upset that I was fucking these other chicas. I tried to have her come out once but she was sending crazy jealous messages. Later she dropped me from facebook.

This stupid jealous shit needs to stop I tell you.

Island adventures

I did check out Playa Linda this time around. It's a pretty empty beach with a single restaurant a few chairs and two of those bed cabana things. 40 k for travel to and from. A dude from the beach on Laguito hopped on with his buddy to be our servers. Everything cost more. Aguila was 10 k. Water was 10 k. Yeah water was the same cost as the beer. Food, drinks and transport all come out to 400 k for the both of us. I wanted to argue with the guy but a whole day at a solitary beach where we were almost completely alone, served exlusively for 400 k? That's not too bad.

The fish they made was most excellent. The tout came out with the raw fish in a big tray and had us pick. I got the chica a one hour massage from a masseuse over there for 50 k. I went for a swim. We ate. Snuggled in the cabana for the rest of the afternoon before heading back.

BTW, no cell phone signal on that beach. If it matters to you or your chicas then don't take them there. Also barely any music.

La Dulce Vida

So apparently its now a restaurant during the day. Not sure when this change happened. At 9:30 PM they switch signs and become a hooker bar. It was fucking solid packed one night. Then 15 minutes later half the chicas left either to Space or Elektra.

All the chicas I spoke to were planning on leaving back home in the next two weeks. I have no idea what this means for chica population in December. They all expect to be back in January.

Day 2:

Spent our day catching up with our sleep in the afternoon since we knew that it's pointless to go to the walled city for any action before 9 pm. We did another round of shopping stocking up on snacks and drinks. The pollo (chicken) flavored chips are popular with the chicas.

By the way, not all ATMs are built equally here. I withdrew cash from Banco de Bogota ATM and was only getting an exchange rate of 2970 which I was unhappy about after the fact. Later that day, I made another withdrawal through Nova Scotia Bank ATM which gave me the more favored exchange rate of 3137. In any case, be cognizant that the exchange rate differs drastically from bank to bank.

That evening, we started our visit wondering around the clock tower and later on at Space and then Dolce. There were only a handful of chicas and we were not ready to commit ourselves to any girls yet. Given the big recommendation provided by the property manager about the Playe Club, we decided to check out the joint to see if it meets the hype. Unfortunately it did not.

Pley Club is a quite a distance away, a good 25 minutes taxi ride from the walled city. To me, it was a bigger version of the isis club, but more run down. EDM was played in the background while we were there and there was a raised platform with a dance pole, where at certain intervals, the chica would perform an uninspiring strip dance up there. The area was too dark for us to see clearly the girls who congregated around the bar area. The place was largely empty with only a few occupied tables. Then again, it was on a Sunday. Here are the details from what we have learned from the club.

The chicas would not approach you until you give them the signal to sit with you. Once they accompany you, you would be paying for their drinks and they get a cut from the sale of these drinks. You can do a short time with the chica there for 350 Mil for 35 minutes. Four hours long time will set you back 800 Mil. I think the bar fine is already included in this pricing structure. Anyway, many of the chicas there have many shared features, and that's big butts and big fake boobs. Unfortunately, those are not really my thing.

After a round of drink, we headed back to the walled city, and repeated our earlier routine of walking around the clock tower, then Dolce and then Space and then back to Dolce again. Those drinks that we ordered do add up fast. There were more chicas this time and the Venezuelans easily outnumbered the Colombians. Contrary to my preconception, the Venezuelan chicas were not as demanding as I thought they would. In contrast, the Colombian chicas, especially those from Medellin, came across for the lack of better word pushy and sharky. Those that are always together in pairs would try to push for a threesome service and their quoted price was always on the high side. Frankly, it was quite a turn off for me, and it reminded me of experiences that I read from past postings regarding their unsavory behaviors once they were brought back to the apartments.

I ended with up with another Venezuelan chica again that night, and my experience with them have been positive so far.

By the way, this posting is based purely on my personal observation, experience and encounter so far, which I want to share with other ISG readers. This is by no mean meant to offend anyone if it comes across as such.

So far, most ATMs limit your transaction to 600 Mil, but I was able to withdraw a higher limit of 780 Mil via the Bank ITau ATM. I was able to get a rate of 3170 peso to USD for that day even after factoring the ATM fee they charge. Tip: Do not let the ATM translate your withdrawal into USD when that option is presented to you since you always get the sucker rate if you do that. Always do it in their local pesos.

Servibanca ATMs give max 780 k. They are the green ones, all around the cities. There is one in CTG at the right facing the clock tower from outside, and one in MDE at Oviedo mall at the right of the manzana facing it from the street.

That's why exchange booths and banks have a healthy business and never feel the crisis. They should send you a Christmas card this December.

By the way, the concept of Mil in the Colombian currency threw me off slightly which I am still trying to get use to. It looks like a sneaky way for the Colombian government to mask their inflation by looping off their last three zeroes and call them Mil in return...

Mil is Spanish for "thousand. " 20 mil pesos is 20,000 pesos. They don't knock off 3 zeros and call it mil to mask inflation. They knock off 3 zeros and call it mil, because any number followed by 3 zeros is pronounced as that number mil. Did you think they should call 20,000 "veinte thousand?

Met up with the apartment manager at Palmetto Eliptic and he helped me with the registration at the front desk. Again no issue with bringing back overnight guests but with a slight caveat. It looks like there is a quota of allowed guests. I don't know if it is tied to the duration of the stay. Once the quota is used up, in my case four, you would then need to purchase additional quota at a cost of 20 Mil per two guests. Anyway, it is not a big issue for me as long as the rule is clear.

Here is a list of recommended places as provided by the property manager.

Supermarkets (Exito, Carulla, Olimpica).

Nightclubs (media luna hostel. Wednesday party, eivissa, la movida, la jugada, babar, fragma).

Bars (alquimico, El baron, Cafe del Mar., The clock pub).

Breakfast (Malanga, La brioche).

Lunch (Novo kebab grill. Delicious kebabs / shawarmas, la cevicheria. Local food with specialty in shellfish, la mulatta. A type of local food, bacco trattoria. Pastas pizzas wine, El santisimo. Local food).

Dinner (Maria. Seafood, Don juan. Seafood, Carmen, Quebracho. Fine dining and steak, La vitrola).

Now for the best part, places to look for chicas: dolce vita, isis and the clocktower.

The best place for model looking girls: PleyClub (more on PleyClub in my next report).

My buddy and I would head out to the Walled City at 7 pm for dinner. What I have learned from that night's trip was that there was a huge contrast in the area, especially around the clock tower, before and after 10 pm. If you plan to look for working chicas there, do so after 10 pm, since I hardly see any of them before that.

Our first stop is at Dolce and ironically for dinner as the menu was appealing enough for both of us. We were surprised that Dolce was just a regular restaurant before 9 pm, and to our amusement that the chef sound offended when we asked about Dolce the dance club.

After dinner, we would explore the walled city as regular tourists since there was no way we can see any action happening during this time. It was as family friendly as you would get in the Walled City. At around 10 pm, we went to isis, the dance club that is. But seriously, they need to change their brand name, since by just typing this name, it gives off a bad vibe. Anyway, my first impression there was a big disappointment. The place was largely deserted and this was on a Saturday night which technically should also be the busiest night. There was only a handful of girls in there which we later found out that they actually were bound to the club. That is because we need to bar fine (150 Mil) the girl should we decide to bring them out. My buddy had a liking for a Colombian chica there and would bar fine her later that night. Before that, we would get her WhatsApp info and ventured into Dolce.

By then, Dolce had been completely transformed. There were a lot of chicas streaming in and out of the club, and definitely a lot to choose from. EDM music was playing in the background and many chicas would be standing around. I suppose the seats were mostly reserved for other customers. Anyway, the ratio is heavily tilted towards the buyers' market.

Based on my experience that night, 200 Mil is pretty much the asking price for short time per hour and 400-450 Mil is an acceptable range for long time in that area. I ended up with a Venezuelan chica that night while my buddy went back to isis to pick up his girl.

Buddy and I landed at 12:40 pm At CTG from MIA and several hundred people were already in line at custom / immigration line. Apparently many flights arrive about the same time in CTG. Note to travelers from Canada: for some reason the fare for American Airlines flights originating in Canada didn't include the entrance fee so my buddy had to pay the fee in a separate line before clearing customs.

Since we both have girlfriends in town we agreed in advance to wife up for a couple of nights and keep our third night free. Went to Playa Hollywood and vicinity for recon and saw a few 6's or 7's and 1 or 2 8's and most were from Medellin. That evening and night was with the girlsfriends, dinner at La Casa De Socorro in Getsemani; traditional food in a nice atmosphere, ok but nothing special and overall pricey for typical Colombian food (I like their girls but not their food).

The girlfriends left to go to work in the am after bfast and us boys went for a lazy day by the beach. As soon as we walked across Calle 1 we saw two girls in bikinis ogling us. A quick chat and my buddy reached behind the bikini-top of one of them and manhandled her boob! Exchanged numbers and arranged for the 19 yo moreno for my pal and a 22 mullatto for me both from Medellin for after lunch and we continued our beach walk. Again, we noted new talent on the beach but not an overwhelming number. Bud chatted with a 23 yo 8. 5 or 9 with a gorgeous bod but her friend was not that attractive. Because we have an understanding that we both pull chicas at the same time and watch each other's back he passed.

Back to the condo and our friends arrived at 2:30 for fun. I like to be sure their tacos are clean so showered together and thoroughly soaped them. Then complete GFE with uncovered head and lots of passion. The only thing better would have been larger tits and she had little be cups. Again the night was with the girlfriends and dinner at white linen Boka Restaurant in Bocagrande. Definitely better quality and more modern choice of meals and the price was similar to Soccoro. My bud had lots of fun making his girlfriend participate in his fantasies with him that night. I am not as adventurous plus I was worn out already and was trying to save some energy for the trip to Medellin.

For our last day, we rested and ate and drank at the beach. In my 2016 trip we pulled at least 10 girls from around Torre Del Reloj as everyone knows it's ground zero for action and so saved the last night for it. Arrived at clock tower at 9:00 and live concert at the Convention Center and thousands of people on the street. The plaza was packed with people and talent everywhere some obvious and some more hidden. We walked a bit and grabbed a few drinks at a couple of bars but most people were outside. I expected more gringo mongers around but didn't notice many, perhaps because of the festival or maybe because it was still early. My bud wanted to quickly pull a Venezuelan but I held him back. Around 11:00 he saw her again and was hot on her tail and negotiated 150 K for the hour. There was a gorgeous blond tall chic I liked who wanted 250 K for 1 hour and wouldn't come down. The night before my girl already had me drained so for a change I wasn't thinking with my small head and I passed. We took a taxi and I did my emails while bud completed his deed. He was done quickly and felt she was too mechanical and disengaged so the night ended on a blah note. Next am We had flights to MDE at 11:20. I will update that section shortly.

Thoughts: I consistently got greater than 3150 COP to 1 USD on credit card charges vs. The highest I got in MDE for cash was 2890/ USD. I know some of you use ATMs but I didn't and I am guessing exch rate is as good on CC. All restaurants I visited accepted credit cards even some hole in the wall places. Compared to my last visit in 2016 I think more places accept credit cards. One place added a 5% surcharge, a ripoff and the owner used to live in London and spoke English fluently. From then on everywhere I went I asked if they accept credit cards without surcharge. I recommend getting a credit card with no foreign transaction fees. Finally, I want to thank the many contributors on this forum. Your insights and points were invaluable in saving me time and money and I hope I can reciprocate.

Ok. Beaches in Colombia are crowded and probably not what you are looking for if comparing to the Carribean. There is fun to be had in Santa Marta read the threads and take it from there. But as far as a relaxing beach. No.
