With that said I have been the worst offender of this rule. This happened in another country but its about keeping safe. So I pick up this very attractive small blond early twenties with a killer body. We drive to my hotel and we have a beer to break the ice. Out of nowhere she stands up and says I just can't do this. As she leaves she says I will make my own way back to the city. Out the door she goes and me and spike are very disappointed. I'm planning my next move and in about 20 minutes she is back. I make sure she's alone and let her in. She says she needs the money and has changed her mind. We set down and finish our beers and before long were having a great time and having another beer. Half way through the second beer she jumps up with glassy eyes and screams at me you bastard you switched the beers I said HUH what are you talking about. So out the door she staggers screaming you SOB you switched the beers. Through the window I watch her Jump in a car with A guy in the parking lot. OK Its obvious what happened. I guess I did switch the beers and I would like to say It was on purpose but No it was blind luck. Always keep in mind when in your room and your having a drink with your guest, stay on your toes and keep this incident in mind.

Also, after reading through the warnings and PSA, it looks like I need to invest in a few steel cables and locks next, so that I can lock up my bags and then tie them to a furniture or something to make any attempts to steal that much more difficult. It feels like Colombia is a much trickier terrain to navigate than South East Asia. I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

Palmetto Elliptic is cool. So are most places but you have to check. As far as safety, common sense. I try and find one good chica and keep her around. And there are plenty the whole country is about sex and coffee. But after a few weeks I want a good old fashioned Anerican blow job.

About 7 months ago a guy in Medellin had a girl over. He had apparently seen her a few times before. I know the girl. She's not a clock watcher. She'll hang out and smoke, or drink and she usually puts in a lot of effort to earn your money. He thought he had a connection with her. He went to the bathroom and when he came out she was gone, along with the money in his wallet and his phone.

I talked to her. Tried to get her to at least return the phone. Even offered to work a deal where he paid a little to buy the phone back. No deal. She had some bad things to say about him and felt like she deserved everything she took..

Very good post. I monger sometimes in Cartagena, and it is the only place where I monger. Actually I am planning to quit doing it. I think it is nonsense to take a chica to your apartment if you have to be worry permanently about your belongings or life.

It really isn't that complicated or tricky, one small padlock to secure your belongings in the bag and a small cable lock to secure the suitcase to the bed post or wherever.

Super easy scene. Stayed at Eliptic no problem with guests. Beach is cool scene found mi amor there and she stayed three days. If you look like a gringo sucker maybe it's another story and you need a little Spanish. Comparedto Havana this is like this is super facil. Playa Hollywood for me and I never bothered with the casas. only downside is Colombian girls really don't know how to give blowjobs. ..they fuck excellente though.

Hi guys,

Here's what I do sometimes with mini-bars: take out the expensive stuff and hide it. Put your own drinks and snacks in the mini-bar! Just remember to put the hotel's stuff back in before the cleaning lady comes in during her morning rounds.

I know some guys just want to party hard, drink hard, and be on full vacation mode when out mongering; tracking all these details can be a real hassle. But the reality is it's better that your mental mode be a little more "James Bond" and a little less "Bill and Ted in Cancun" As Jjbee points out, these chicas come from a pretty tough environment.

Right on! Also, in terms of minibars, most decent hotels will oblige if you ask them to remove the content. Minibars with sensor slots are the worst since housekeeping hates messing with those, but the manager will usually override their objections if you insist.

I have already posted it before, - I always lock the apartment door with a key and hide it until we leave together to the lobby / security / lobby / taxi. My suitcase is hard side one. Sure, she can throw it out of the balcony or her gang can knock out the door. Anyway, make your apartment or suite chica proof, then lock the door.

My point was, and still is, that you have to think about these things. Staying in a building with security, a key locked door, stashing your valuables, etc. Too many guys don't take the precautions, or forget, or decide "this girl is different. I don't have to worry about her. ".

Maybe what gets taken ends up being just a minor inconvenience. Maybe it turns out like the guy in Medellin last December. Girl let her boyfriend in. Boyfriend tried to rob him, guy fought back, got stabbed and killed. Maybe it ends up like the guy last month who let a girl mix a drink for him. She drugged him and cleaned him out. He was lucky. There is a lethal dosage of Scopolamine.

For all the warnings about the dangerous areas of every city, the most frequent problems happen in the hotels and apartments.

I had no idea that my original post would generate so much buzz. This isn't my first rodeo, not my first time in Cartagena or Colombia for that matter. If you're staying in a hotel, put your valuables in the safe. If you're staying in an apartment without a safe, better have a damn good hiding spot. I'm a generous person. However it pisses me off if a girl starts going through things just to steal. Of course I showered with the girl, she got out quick and went to get her clothes. Maybe I had beginners luck my first few times here but I had girls that didn't steal, stayed overnight until mid afternoon. I took them to breakfast and lunch. Hell even went to the beach. My experience here is if a girl asks for and demands $ up front, it's going to lead to poor service. Other girls here didn't demand money upfront and it was very much GFE. Similar to what one may find in other parts of the world.

Such as SE Asia. Anyhow, I was out late last night, probably 10 chicas still working in the center at 5 am. When then the clubs close around 4 am there are bargains to be had.

They start thinking they're renting girlfriends, or worse, that the girls really enjoy being with them.

Every one of the girls is a professional liar. They are paid to lie to (and with) us and convince us we're the greatest lover they've ever known. They are paid to convince us we're not fat, balding, old men going through a mid-life crisis. They're paid to convince us that, if they didn't need the money so much, they would be doing it for free. They're paid to convince us they want us. Add a "the" and you get what they really want. USD.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Colombianas. I know a lot of Colombianas that I consider to be friends (on other words, they talk to me without asking for money or for a cita). I also realize how far apart our worlds are.

So why trust them? Bring them in, do your thing, send them home. Don't let your guard down. Don't give them the temptation and they'll be perfect little angels.
