First off I would like to thank everyone for their detailed reports! It really gives me an idea of what to expect before traveling. I am new to this forum but I use which I think is the sister site of USAsexguide often. I plan on going to Cartenga Oct. 11 through the 16 with a group of 10 or more people. They rented a AirBNB which the policy allows guest with valid ID, but since I was a late add on I decided to book the Holiday Inn express for myself. I did not know this site existed before I booked it and it is nonrefundable so I am stuck staying there. I have a few questions and I apologize if they have been asked before but it seems like things are changing around the city. Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn and if so how was it to bring chicas back there? I plan on utilizing tinder while I'm there as well as the other sites that are in the forum as well as the hot spots. Another question, does anyone know of a good agency or person to book a party boat at a decent price or someone they have used before? Also instead of buying party favors off the street from a random vendor does anyone know of a decent street pharmacist that isn't so shady LOL. Last but not least about currency exchange where is the best place to get the best bang for my buck that won't try and rip me off? Oh one more thing, If anyone is local there or plan on being there around the same time would like to grab a beer or coffee please let me know. I should have some reports on my day to day once I go.

The best place to exchange was on Calle 8 across from the Hampton and next to the convenience store.

Mostly Latin music. It's no different than a lot of other places in the old city. Sometimes the mix will be right off youtube with a screen showing the music videos. Elektra and Space has a DJ, while La Dulce Vita is a bar and hence no DJ.

Consequently, ground zero these days is more of the path between Elektra, Space and La Dulce Vita. At one point walking out of La Dulce Vita I had 8 chicas swarm me as they were walking by me and tap me on my body: "Tu conmigo amor! Tu conmigo!

The places

Space is a club with a large dance floor and no where to breath. I personally avoid it unless its your kind of thing. La Dulce Vita is more intimate bar scene, with a restaurant now, upstairs, in case you get the munchies. Elektra is a bit of club and bar. Chicas will stand around and try to get your attention.

There's no one place that is hot all the time. Some nights Elektra was rocking, others Space. La Dulce Vita also tends to have good nights and nights with only a few chicas. Chicas will move between them pretty regularly.

(1) Chicas aggressively pursuing you outside LDV and on WhatsApp. Is this because of the increased supply / competition from the Venezuelanas? Or is there another reason?

It's a sign of desperation. Keep in mind end of September is not high season. Cartagena makes most of its money in January and March. With things getting worse in Venezuela every day the chicas are much more desperate. The only exception is one chica who has her entire family now in Colombia. She's much cooler than the others I encountered.

(2) I understand the Venezuelanas pestering for more money. However, what is the quality (on a scale of 1 to 10)?
Do the Venezuelanas charge LESS than the Colombians? Or is it bait and swiitch i.e. Initial rate is less, but once inside the room they demand more?

They always did charge less but after almost three years of doing it the more experienced ones try to nickle and dime for more. Colombian chicas are much cooler. You can go out dancing, and drinking and then bang her in the morning for 300 k and she'll happly come out again another night. It's good money and they enjoy a good time. Venezuelans are on a clock to get money fast because they need it.

(3) The Colombian girls must be angry at this influx. Did they express their frustration to you? Are they going to fight by accepting a lower price?

There's no outward anger directed at Venezuelans. Privately they tell me to stay away from them and they are right.

BTW, a lot more pimps around. You can see them in the Plaza and even on the beaches. Not touts. Just dudes that sit with or around the chicas quietly. Colombians rarely have a handler out in the open like that. My personal view, there's a Venezuelan mafia developing or growing in Colombian cities. That's purely my opinion.

For a bit of background in November it will be the third anniversary of my visits to Cartagena. I've gone every 3 months and my most recent trip has me reflecting on things.

We're not in Kansas anymore

The influx of Venezuelans has started to leave its mark on the city's mongering scene. This includes safety, the kind of chicas you will get, and the general mood of the city. It's not all bad but also, my personal opinion, is that Colombia is permanently changing due to the problems in Venezuela.

Let's start with safety: usually a taxi will drop me off in front of the clock tower plaza, outside the walls. This requires crossing the road and going into the old city. No big deal right? Every time I got out of the taxi a couple of dudes would come running up from nowhere and offer me something: an energy drink, 10 k pesos and ask me to break it into 5's, or just ask for directions. These guys look dangerous and melt into the night the moment I crossed the road to get into the old city. They are up to something so watch out. Shake your head and keep moving.

I've been told by several chicas not to be drunk late at night in the old city alone. While there are always police patrols, there have been reports of robberies. With that said I did not experience any incidents. Just be alert. There are criminals looking to fuck you if you're not careful.

Police are coming out and checking documentation of the chicas. They then ask the chicas to move out of the plaza (nicely). The chicas mostly do but some will stick around. As far as I can tell there's not much the cops can do unless the chica doesn't have her papers in order. I literally saw chicas present their documents, talk to the cop, shake their heads and go back to what they were doing. Keep in mind in Colombia the constitution guarantees people the right to work. That includes hookers.

This guy basically killed the night for everyone as he kept doing this to anyone who came anywhere near him.

Under siege

I fucked and had, mostly a good time, but the city really felt different. My regular tout was extremely demanding. Always trying to get me to part with money for bullshit things I didn't want to do. I usually use him to organize a trip or two during my stay and that's it. Nearing the end he straight up asked for 200 k as a loan. I told him he'll scare away customers acting like that.

Chicas were unrelenting on whatsapp. Every fucking day AMOR AMOR AMOR. They kept hammering me for times to come visit.

Last September was rocking and fun. I'm planning one more trip in November. If the mood continues to feel so desperate I think I won't be going anymore. We'll see.

I can answer your Holiday Inn question, I stayed there for a few days in June. They will let your first guest in for free but they will permanently register her, meaning that they will charge you for any guests after that. I was paying 245 k a night and for me to have a second guest, they wanted 250 k extra. Yes that's right, more that what I was paying for the room. Needless to say, I left the day after I found that out and stayed at the Hampton. Safe travels buddy.

I decided to try staying in El Centro, this trip, as opposed to my usual high rise condo rental in Bocagrande. Six one way, half dozen the other, IMO. It's either a taxi to the beach and back (or in my case, walk halfway to Bodytech, then to Playa Hollywood, and taxi back), or walk to the beach and taxi into Centro at night. I stayed 2 blocks up from the Clock Tower in an AirBnB that was a great spot. A little noisy, but that's to be expected, given the location.

Day 1 (Wednesday)- Avianca decided to leave my big suitcase at my departure airport in the US, so for 10 hours I didn't have anything in Cartagena. Hence, I didn't go to the gym, beach, etc. I went over to SAIL2018, which is an naval thing where big navy sail boats from various countries travel around from port to port. I got a tour of the Colombian ship. Gloria. I just walked to dinner at Bacco Trattoria and had a decent thin crust pizza. I lined up Martina from PP, and she arrived looking just like her photos (face unblurred). Her ass was unreal. A nice way to forget about the luggage ordeal. She wanted 240, including taxi, I got it to 200. I paid her a combo of COP / USD..

I want Airbnb info if it guest friendly. I'm type guy I see at least 4 girls a day but I don't ball out like you spending. Lmk bro. Be safe.
