We were wondering if other couples / females are welcome or frequent brothels and strip clubs in Cartagena. We are not looking for swingers. None of them in CTG, but there are a few swinger clubs in Bogota and Medellin. Don't expect the luxury settings of swinger clubs in Europe. They are mostly a bit run down, but they totally safe and gather some good couples, especially on weekends. Some clubs are open only to couples. Others admit singles only on 2-3 nights per week (from Sun to Wed). One in BOG is always open to singles.

Police in Colombia in general and in CTG in particular is very professional. I have been stopped and searched 1-2 times on almost EACH of my stays in Colombia, most times at night but sometimes also during the day (in Centro of Medellin). Curiously, this did not happen on my last stay in CTG. Maybe they relaxed controls, maybe I looked less suspicious.

I've never had a single problem. As you reported, they look for drugs, as many foreign tourists in CTG are consumers. If you don't have, as I don't, there is no reason to worry. Just smile and respond positively to their professional inquiries. Their approach is severe at first, but once they see there is nothing wrong, they relax and the meeting will end up in pats-down and smiles.

I have had some real bad experiences with Colombian professional women here in Miami. The action downtown at the Clock Tower / clubs is late and I'd like to have a few girls throughout the day. I am new to mongering CTG. If you go back a page or two max you'll see two big reports by me from January. One of them is a summary of the venues all in Bocagrande and centro.

I used Edgar at playa hollywood. If you buy a sub here and PM me I can send you his whatsapp number. Summary on how not to get ripped off:

* Tell him you want an honest account and will tip in the end. Make sure he understands you aren't going to put up with any monkey business. Once you do that he'll be good.

* Beers should be about 5 k. Mixed drinks are more expensive like Pina Coladas are 30 k. The way they fuck you is by offering the girls expensive drinks and adding shit to your tab without you knowing.

* Tip him 15-20% of the tab. He probably won't be impressed but if you go everyday the gears in that fat head of his start turning.

* The girls will try to fuck you over for 300 k+. Especially if you say you're new. Tell them your friends told you it's 200 k "para un rato" which means for a bit. If you have beers at your place and its the afternoon the girl could fuck you, drink, take a nap and fuck you again. That was my usual for 200k. Most of these girls don't get much business during the day. A lot of them will be from La Isla and don't get much work at night because apparently it's not busy there.

Don't go to La Isla unless you have someone you trust with you. It's outside of the tourist areas. Don't go there if you think you look like an easy target for a robbery.
