Great idea MiamiHeatLuver! I have no problem if someone wants to send me a p. M, maybe you should! But the fact of the matter is if someone is on a tight budget, but likes to party hard in bars / discos and so forth, the cities of Medellin and Cali would be a much better option for them, as Cartagena is very expensive, where as in Medellin or Cali you would be paying very close to 50 percent less for everything, girls, lodging, food in nice restaurants, and so forth.

A big benefit for anyone going to Medellin or Cali to find those paisa, calena lovers, in addition to saving a lot of money from what they would be spending in Cartagena, is they would get the best in guide services from you or Reefski, as both of you are very open to providing them walking tours, tours to the country side, and being a great information source for a newbee. Both of you are possibly the most helpful members on the entire Colombia board. With having either one of you providing guide services, the newbees will not have to be carrying around maps and papers with little notes on them.

They are now issuing a new SS standards and ethics policy. Even now the policy does not expressly forbid the patronizing of hookers. A ridiculous sum for any South American hooker, and way outside the CTG price range, as we all know. She's probably lying. Probably she pulled one of the common prostitute price scams. Negotiating the price in the local currency up front, then demanding to be paid in US dollars afterwards.

You're just speculating on whether the female SS superior acted against the Cartagena agents just to protect her position. Maybe she acted because she is an American woman, and that she was guided by the typical woman's attitude regarding men and hookers. In the past, when the chain of command in the SS was all male, prostitution incidents did not lead to scandals. In the past, male SS superiors chose a different response to prostitution reports. SS agents have done this before, many times, just more discreetly. They are just now reporting that SS agents went to strip clubs and partied with women in El Salvador, and also in Russia 12 years ago.

They did a story on the female SS supervisor. Turns out it was a judgement call, regulations did not demand that the agents be sent home for that kind of behavior. Also, they were part of the advance team. NOT the actual agents who protect the president.

My facts are straight Sir. The agents pooled their money AFTER they tried to bully the situation and it didn't work. The agents stood guard at the agents room and refused to let hotel security enter (look it up). Their tactics had probably worked many times before but not this time. When hotel security got involved they could have paid her off for 100 USD, but AFTER their bully tactics didn't work and the police arrived then the agents pooled their money Sir. She probably did try to scam the agents but I'm not going to give the agents a pass and blame everyone else as you have.

We can all speculate about the female agent motives, but she covered her ass. Maybe she doesn't follow the " Good ole boys rule" but the agents should have never put her in a position to make that call. The board has moved on beyond this story, and so should we.

I've never been to Cafe Del Mar as early as sunset, but I'd guess it's peak hours are around midnight. It's a difficult place to pick up, however.

Tu Candela 10 pm to 4 am, Cafe del Mar is good at sunset. 8 pm watch for early street talent or join a chiva rumba party, Isis opens at 9 pm. Also 8 pm may be good if you take a drive to a strip club (je-je)

I would appreciate any info someone experienced can give. I am heading to Cartagena today and would like to know around what time is good to go to some of the places? I know Elektra only opens after 3am, LDV after midnight, but how about Tu Candela? The normal bars Cafe del Mar and Casa de la cerveza? Also where is the place to go in the early evening, around 8pm? Thanks for the info and will write a report when I get back. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
