I know what you mean- my first trip to Medellin 12 years ago I was pretty much on my own as far as info.

The Map is getting adjusted continuously but furthest East and South I have been as far as Casas is Pleyclub.

Bocagrande there is way too many different shops, Cambios, Atm's and Hotels to list but

I will add a few as I see fit.

I also did not list the new disco right next to the LDV, I don't remember the name but don't see the point seeing it just seems to take the overflow from LDV.

After searching for a while in the forum,

I finally found out that LDV is just across the street from my hotel.

Unfortunately when asked in the reception I was told that visitors are forbidenn in the rooms.

Perhaps there is a Love motel around the area, will tray to find out.

Would like to meet with some fellows in the coming days if anynone is up for some beers.

Hope the info is somehow useful.

The Chicas know the love hotels, just tell the taxi driver "hotel economico"

I started a map on google. It has some points of interests. Add what casa or any other point of interest you feel the need for. Queens is a guess on location I can walk there but overhead view I can't quite figure it out. LOL I may add more this weekend.

I will be sure to give a trip report. I've been to Medellin, Cali, and Bogota many times. I'm looking forward to reporting on the differences, both good and bad, that I find.

There are plenty of chicas available until Easter in Cartagena. Some of the casas lose some girls that will go home butI do not there are girls that come here to get some school money during their holiday. I met a 19 year old from Cali that just arrived and is staying for a week, beautiful black haired chica and willing to learn. Some of the chicas I met when they started here, both Cartagena and other city chicas, end up at La Dolce or Tu Candela with big numbers. 200-400K, after they become a sesoned pro. You can always use some of the short time motels if your hotel is restrictive. I am also posting a short daytime casa list under Cartagena lists today.

I've read two somewhat conflicting reports on what goes on in CTG during Semana Santa. An older posts states it's a bad time for mongering due to the lack of working women. I know Cali is so dead during Christmas time that the clubs are sometimes closed. Anybody spend time in CTG during Semana Santa?

I'll be in CTG April 20-21 (Wed and Thurs) staying at Hotel Don Pedro De Heredia. I'll be sure to report on my trip. Anyone know much about this hotel and / or how close it is to the action?

There should be ample working women there on the 20th and 21st and also those on vacation who don't consider themself to be one, but who are willing to to take advantage of the opportunity to make a few pesos and have some fun with you. Given your short stay, for working girls you might just consider sticking with the well-reviewed spots (such as LDV and Electra, oh and you might as well shoot in Queens and Isis for a looksee since you're in the old city) at night and playa hollywood during the day.

I can't give you any personal experience in re to your hotel choice, but I can say that since it is in the old (walled) city you'll be in walking distance to most everything within the old city, and a short / inexpensive taxi ride to places like LDV outside of the wall. Check out Hillbilly's post with the Google map of CTG to get your bearings.

You didn't specifically ask this question, but my guess is that bringing back an obvious working girl to your hotel room may be frowned upon (or even more of a problem). A hotel such as where you are staying is typically geared toward more traditional tourists, like couples who met before that night, etc. If that's the case, you'll want to do the deed at one of the motels mentioned in World Travel's detailed list report in the lists thread. Again, no personal experience at that hotel, just a guess.

With you only being there a couple of nights, I wouldn't sweat it if the hotel isn't chica-friendly. I'd just enjoy all the sights, sounds and history of the old city and do the deed at one of the love motels. Be sure to check out what World Travel has to say in his list, especially in re to the two love motels near the airport.

I just don't appreciate people attacking young guys who aren't millionaires going to Cartagena trying to go on trips and having a good time.

I not a big enough smug prick to play Class warfare with people with less money or time than me, I leave that up to others.

Reminds me of the South Park episode about "SMUG" (LOL) My budget has me in Tijuana a few times a year, but I've always liked what I've seen in the Colombia gallery. Great photos HB and I've seen 'class warfare' in the Thai section. A beautiful woman is a beautiful woman no matter how much or little is paid. I usually pay 50 in Tijuana, sometimes I forget that it's P4P and sometimes I'm quite aware that I'm "NEXT" (LOL)

I was about to book a flight to Bogota for next weekend and came across a posting that Semana Santa starts on the 18 of April and that the city would be dead. Glad I didn't book.

What about Cartagena during this week? In terms of freebies and prepagas and P4P and everything else.

Looking to book the flight soon so early response is greatly appreciated.

Navidades (Christmas) and Semana Santa are the main domestic holiday seasons in Colombia. Semana Santa probably more than Christmas. Colombians who can afford it will go to the sea-side or other nice destinations. Cartagena should be full of domestic tourists. Pros as well as semi-pros will be attracted in order to make business. Make sure that you have a hotel / apartment reservation. I think Cartagena is a perfect destination, much better than Bogota. Although I avoid this season (temporada alta) because prices for accomodation are much higher than throughout the rest of the year. Good luck.

World Travelers Lists are the ones everyone copies. It is Just time to put info on a Google Map with all the info, websites and prices. I may expand it to Medellin, Cali and the DR if I feel ambitious.

It would be good spot for you to put on your North Coast stuff Urbanwildlife.
