Hi. I want to thank you all for your info. It made planning very easy. A little background, this is my 1st time to Colombia, I have been to brazil(2x), Peru and Costa Rica and Mexico City. So I think I can speak from a little experience.

I used Juan for an apt., I recommend him highly, he delivered as promised, was available whenever a problem arose, the apt. Was excellent, oceanfront, wall of windows with a bueatiful sunset every nite. Flat screen tv in living room. I am probalbly going back in feb. And hope to get the same place. All the girls loved it when they saw it.

LDV, I loved this place. Obviously for those who have been to brazil, this cannot compare to help in size, but I personally, IMHO, found the percentage of quality women, signifigantly better. And it had a great energy/vibe. Much better than T. R. In Lima, again, IMHO.

The beach scene, was like a mini version of copacabana, the beach quality is not as nice or big. But had a similiar energy, everything was available. Food, drink, and girls. Tony #1 is as described. Very helpful and an a**hole. He truly could deliver on anything you wanted. Blanca and flaca, no problem. He was on his phone and 15 minutes later she arrived, and he didnot dissappoint he had great quality. And if it didn't suit you, he would get another. Personally I preferred the afternoon session with the beach girls to LDV night sessions, if you had a good connection. It just seemed more relaxed, not as hardcore. Plus, the beach girls were younger on average.

I always find that I go all out the first few days as far as the sex goes, then I become more interested in the overall party scene, with some sex mixed in. Met some really fun girls, and a few americans, hooked up with a really crazy chica that I had a great connection with and spent the last 3 days/nights together. Lots of fun, took my out to centro for drinks/ dinner one night and to tu candela(sp?) another, great time. Was helpful for translating etc. For this it is important to get a girl who can speak some english as my spanish is poco. No matter how great the physical connection if they don't speak any english it is had to be with them other than short time.

Well, to sum it up it was great, much cheaper than brazil currently, and I'm already planning a return trip in feb., thanks again for all your help, Doc.

I'm hosting a couple of guys. I was at Tu Candela last time in Cartagena and found it interesting the Non pro and pro mix.

I have been in Cartagena nearly every year for New Years and some for Christmas over the last 8 years. Many chicas from casas in Medellin and Cali are recruited by agencies to work in Cartagena in December, most leaving with our dinero the week before Christmas. Funny how a 30,000 peso casa chica is working at a high end casa (200-350,000 for the night in Cartagena) during that time. They also get bored waiting for action and are looking for daytime tricks on the beach.

There are always the Cartagena girls available on the playa, yeah Hollywood too. Action is slow for a few days after Christmas but picks up around the 28th of 29th. New Years in Cartagena is the busiest time of the year, also the most expensive. Apartments and hotels are 1 1/2 to 3x what they usually charge, biggest days are Dec 29 to January 16 this year. For New Years get a chica that is fun and try Santa Domingo Plaza, you will need a reservation at one of the restaurants there, about $100 per person. Area is partitioned off with the loudest band available, but a great time to be there. Tables for dinner in all the streets close to the Plazas.

La Dolce picks up during New Years but you really need to have one tied up imho. Unless tings changed in the last 2 weeks La Perla Casino has been closed down and La Dolce stands alone. This time of year the weather si great historically but this year the rains keep coming. I am told it has rained most days including today recently.

There will always be quality chicas there if you look. Mant drunk teens fr4on other areas of Colombia but they are not so notibabe at some of the "closed" parties for New Years in nthe old city.

We will C. I understand the theory that many go home for the holidays but I am thinking that this is one of the busiest tourist seasons for them, so I can't imagine them missing the opportunity for a good ratio which means good business for them. I am hoping at the very least 29, 30, 31 December the whole city must be in party mode.

But we will see how business focused they are.

Golfinho and Ricker, thanks for the feedback---much appreciated. Kinda what I figured, but it's always best to get the input from guys who've actually been there during that timeframe.

I did a search of this thread on the word "Christmas" and did find one report from Reefski. Looks like he did find a little action on the beach during Christmas week. Maybe Reefski is still around and will expand on his report from Dec. 2008.

Was fantastic the week leading to Christmas.
Was OK after Christmas, heading to New Years Celebration.
Great private parties on New Years eve.
From the new years day for about a week ... dead.

May be only slim pickings, but I'm guessing there are some opportunities at Playa Hollywood or through Tony, and if LDV is still open. I'm curious to know from anyone who has been there from say Dec. 21 through the end of the year.

In 2008, I flew out of CTG on dawn flight morning of 24th. Previous night in LDV was dead: one Cali chica trying to make transportation fare home, two every night regulars, and very scant flotsam room filler. The entire week before, LDV had been becoming more and more empty with each passing night. Plus side was minimal competition. Have been wondering when the girls start perculating back into the place after Christmas. For New Years, Juan Ventura's places a are pretty booked -- and at higher rates -- for anyone contemplating being there for Eve 2011.

Would be interested as well in hearing from someone who has actually been in Cartagena during Christmas week. Does LDV stay open through the 23rd or 24th? How about the 26th? Do some Cartagenaras still mingle in Playa Hollywood working on the days leading up to the 25th? Ever slip away to the apartamento with a chica from the beach who is there during Christmas week with her family? Or will a guy have to have Tony start calling local chicas from his cell phone contact list?

The chicas will understand a bit if you speak slowly, and you'll understand quite a bit of their spanish.
Tell the chicas you're from Brazil .. they dig it.

I speak both languages, for me spanish is much easier, easier pronounciation.

I dig St Maarten too.
Don't know if it's still around, but I used to stay at the little motel that was attached to the club Kappers, I believe was it's name.

Anyway I like LDV for the availability to meet chicas and if you can meet and click with one, get pretty good deal on LT GFE without paying ridiculous bar fines.

BTWay, think I had the best lay of my life in Campo Alegre in Curacao. The famous Michelle from Cali.
She was a 10 in looks, personality, skill and performance.

This is kind of a specialized report. I live near St Maarten in the Caribbean so most of my experience is in the clubs there,with colombianas. I have been to Colombia 10 times and this is my third visit to Cartagena, but my first visit to LDV. I was staying at the Hotel Dann, across the street.

Hit the bar about 130am because I took a nap and overslept. Girls clear out about 230pm. Music is a mix, loud but not too loud. There were lots of girls and only a few guys (mid week, late). The girls are better looking on average than the girls that come to St Maarten. Prices in St Maarten are standard, $50 for half an hour, perhaps $40.

First I walked around and got a beer. Then I talked to a tall black girl, very attractive, from Medellin (lots of the girls were frrom Medellin). She was dressed discretely, in retrospect I should have just stuck with her, since it was getting near to closing time. But I spotted a familiiar blonde a few tables away and went over to say hello. I had sessioned with her once a year ago in St Maarten, nothing super memorable for me, but she remembered my massage and gift of a music CD. Then I talked to a couple of other hot young girls.

Then a slim tall black girl, somewhat hardlooking, motioned me over. I bought drinks for her and her 2 friends, all from Cartagena. 10k per drink.
We danced a bit and talked, they wanted me to take them to Eledktra. I spent about 15 minutes with them, talking, dancing, seeing what a kiss would be like. The first girl was the best dancer and most sexy, but the short, lighter, girl next store girl gave me a nice full kiss right n the bar. So as people started to clear out, I said I wasnt interetwed in Electra and headed outside
where I talked to 3 girls from Cali and one from ?

Eventually my girls came out, one at a time, the girl next door took my arm and gave me another kiss. She said what are we going to do, I said lets go across the street to my hotel. No discussion of price.

Hotel took her cedula while she was in my suite, charged me 45k pesos for a visitor. We had a good 2 hours, including bbbj lots of talk, great french kissing, not so great CFS. I gave her 150k and got her numbers, gave her 10k for taxi, and she left.

Next day the hotel charged me 90k for a small bottle of whiskey which i did not drink. She either slipped it in her purse (all other valuables where in the safe) or the hotel made a mistake. She denied it when she phoned me.

Then I took a minibuss to Baq.

LDV was interesting. The drinks in St Maarten only cost $2 and the price o9f the girl is about the same, although TLN can probably be had cheaper at LDV since there is no bar fine. In St Maarten you normally session in the girls room, so the only things you worry about losing are those in your pants, and that is VERY rare, since the girls are in a foreign country and vulnerable.

When chicas start charging like that and making demands and not discussing their services, etc, they usually end up being pretty crappy company anyway.

There are plenty of chicas that you can bond with and pay normal rates, and have a great time.

Good rule to follow ... bad vibe, let her go, follow your instincts.
