Hello, everybody!

It's my first time visiting in Cartagena and I just what to know how safe it is? For example take a girl home with you, will she steel from you? Can you go around in the night just bar hopping safely? Is it alot of gangs around trying to rob you?

Where is the best place to meet the hottest chicks? LDV?

Is it easy to take several girls home to make a party? Would they want too or would they want alot of money for that? We are a couple of dudes going. Sorry for tons of questions but I'm so eager to go and have a good time!

A lot of buildings limit you to one girl per bedroom in your apartment. Condo associations have their doormen enforce this.

Need to find out building policy in advance if you want to enjoy multi-girl parties.

i used to live in ctg years ago (2004 ) and rented an apt with a telephone line and i subscribed to the local isp enred for internet access. it was slow dial-up and constantly dropped connections.

i'm wondering how good the internet connection is these days, the supposed "broad-band" in the apartments.

i am employed by a company now but work from home. what i want to do is move to ctg ( for a while ) and set up shop there. good broadband is a must, i'm guessing 1mb download speed would suffice.

along with the internet connection i am going to need some sort of reliable telephone source .. voip ( skype, vonage, etc.. ). one with a local number in the states so i can be called by co-workers.

does anyone know if this is possible/do-able with the services there and which voip would accommodate telephone needs .. which are minimal but necessary from time to time.

my objective is to just go, and not have my company know i am there and be able to conduct business as usual.

Hotel Caribe is one of the original structures in Bocagrande and has many families that stay there. Also many weddings and receptions are held there. I got married there seven years ago and when we went to our room many hours later, I got the full look over by the staff. Luckily, one doorman knew my wife and things went better. If you register an extra guest and your "wife" is appropriately dressed, you might have no trouble.

For the cost you pay for the hotel, you could rent a a very nice two bedroon apartment where you will not be hassled except for your guest signing in when you bring her home. I have stayed in about six different buildings over the years, but I like Mirado del Laquito. It has a nice pool which at times you would be alone.

Sorry to go on, but I cannot understand why anybody would stay in a hotel when there are better options.

I'm off to Cartagena from 30th August for two weeks. I've been 5 or 6 times before and about half of those times I have got stuck with the La Ley Seca rule. Can anyone tell me if in early September this is happening? IMO CTG is kinda dead if there's no alcohol going around.

Also, daytime options. There's Playa Hollywood, but I don't really know of anything else. Tony is ok and all, but I'd rather not. Do you have any updates?

Couple of questions.. How much did you give your chica for the 3 nights? What were the asking prices for ST and LT for the places you went to? What are the prices of beers and individual drinks?

As a quasi budget monger myself, I like to know what I'm getting into if I ever go there.

The first night she wanted 150K but I got her for 120K. Since she stayed with me for the rest of the time ( which I did not expect ) I gave her 150K for each of the other two nights.

Urban handled all the paying for the drinks. He would ask me for 50 or 60 K for my share and so I really don't know exact prices. I do remember Pleyboy being 250K for a large bottle of rye.

Since I wifed up I was not asking prices,but one of our group got a hottie out of Electra for 70K near the end of the night.

I was in a wedding party, surrounded by civilians. I still headed out in search of fun twice, and scored the wonderful Milena on day 1. She made the otherwise quiet 10 days worth it. Two of her bud spuds were pretty doable too. I took a forgettable GDP the next day (sorry about the blurry picture), and didn't have time to bank around for 2nds. Source. La Dolce Vita. Banged at the love motel La Jaiba, as our boutique hotel, two doors down from a strip club, did not allow "those people" in under any circumstances. Hell, Milena was classier than most of the women staying at the hotel!

I am new to CTG and last night hit LDV for the first time ever and concur with the mostly positive reports.

If last night is typical then as a freelance venue it has to rate much better than similar venues in two other popular LAm monger spots that I do know well - Tequila Rocks Lima Peru and Key Largo San Jose CR.

M-F ratio was about 60-20 - if that is typical and based on Hilltopper's reports seems to be so with some variation, it is more chicas than you will almost ever see at TR, and far less sausage than the typical night at KL. And average quality last night was better than I typically would find at TR or KL as well, I saw relatively few fatties and uglies.

In my case I pulled a solid 8 Barranquillana quite easily, I took her back with no discussion of money..after short time, her not as GFE as I hoped, she wanted 200k, it had been less than 1 hour and I insisted on 150k and she was not too happy..she left with 150K plus taxi fee and a couple of snacks.

Yeah. I find if it's a pro, always discuss price beforehand. Even if she doesn't because at the end of the night you will both be upset.

For a mostly budget monger like me ( although I spent like a drunken salior in CTG ) MDE takes the cake for the total easy way to reach all the good spots. The Metro is awesome and the girls are workd famous for their beauty.
also it seems that you get great value for your money with Chica priceing and reasonable hotel rates. Although the food is not that great you can eat cheaply if you stay away from Pobaldo.

Now I must say that if money is no problem for you then CTG with the beach and all may be a better bet for you. For now I have to stick to MDE.

I hear you about Poblado. Since I stay in Poblado, naturally chicas want to eat in Parque Lleras which can get expensive. I will next time stay in Laureles and see how that goes. BTW, at night. Look for the "Food on a cart" or something like that. Hamburger and drink for like 2500! Can't beat that!
