I will arrive in Cartagena the night of the beauty contest (Nov 11) and stay 3 weeks. I know the week before the beauty contest will have lots of wild partying (Nov 4-11). And the wild partying ends November 11. But I will have to miss that. What about the week after the beauty contest (Nov 12-18)? Will it be dead or will there be decent action? And what about late November?

Just go! You won't have trouble finding gals if you stay in the El Laguito or Bocogrande areas. Hit the beach during the day and La Dolche Vita at night. Believe me it will all take care of itself.

Where can I find the "bar girl" types daytime at the beaches? I mean which beaches at which times at which days? Please be specific as possible as to which part of the beach. I do appreciate that, since I will be there in a week.

For example, where and when at Bocagrande beach, where and when at Boquilla beach etc.

Go to la dolce vita in bocagrande any night after 11pm or elektra in old city after 3am. All colors, shapes and sizes at those places. Actually 90% of girls work first at LDV then go to elektra if they haven't hooked up yet or just turned a short time.

Just go! You won't have trouble finding gals if you stay in the El Laguito or Bocogrande areas. Hit the beach during the day and La Dolche Vita at night. Believe me it will all take care of itself. Taxi's are abundant. Just know the name or approximate neighborhood of where you are going and you will get there.
Might be wise to spend a few months doing some homework on your destination prior to departing next time, then you will be well prepared before you arrive. Have fun!

Im not trying to dog you but Im getting the feeling you have done minimal research and preparation for a trip to Colombia, even if it is Cartegena that you are visiting. Spend a little time reading or swap to Medellin and just book the mansion where someone can hold your hand and show you around.

It never ceases to amaze me how some guys will take off to Colombia without Spanish.

perhaps a 10-15 minute walk depending on where in Laguito you are coming from.

Unless they changed from last year it is not hard to see the activities. You just have to find out where and when and then pay. Most of it is at the Hilton, but not everything.

Last year my buddy and I met one of the contestant's Uncle.

He was staying at our hotel. The Playa.

I wonder if his niece Miss Antioquia (Medellin) has entered again. She got third place last time.

Yes, getting in and seeing the actual televised pageant will be tough. But that whole week before, the contestants are all over Cartagena engaged in different pageant activities.

I read in my guidebook that the beauty contest in Cartagena is always held on November 11. (By coincidence the day I arrive). Does anyone know where in Cartagena it is held, and about what time?

If you are lucky enough to be able to get a hotel room during the pageant, you'll see it going on all over town.

It's hard to miss.
