Just wanted to thank you Nypher for sharing a lot of great info on here that I learned from while lurking before my trip.

It's the bakery down the block from Space and Dolce on the corner. During the day time its packed with locals / tourists and and at night (10 Pm and later) mostly all the ladies getting a quick bite. I grew up eating Colombian bakery food in the states and can verify its one of the best Pan de Bono's (cheese bread) I've tried inside or out of Colombia. Explains why all the talent go there as its amazing and cheap. Amazing fresh juices as well. I didn't notice any stench and doubt they would let it get smelly for long as its across the street from a church and also a major touristy intersection during the day. That lady begging is certainly there. There are also lots of dudes there offering hotels or free entry into the clubs etc at night. I'd ignore everyone except talent LOL. Once you find some talent take them around the block and chat over a cheap beer from a store.

Safety has been a major topic as of late and I truly feel for my American bro's. If you are a solo mongering traveler that doesn't really speak spanish / can't hold a real conversation then I 100% recommend using some vetted guide you can probably find on here. We had no problems as Gringo Bilinguals while there but I can tell there is at least a little resentment / jealousy of Gringos by some of the local dudes offering clubs / motels on the street at night. Just be nice and respectful when you say no no no to all the offers and move on. I'd recommend statying away from all substances offered too. Some of them probably take joy in hearing about a "dumb gringo" being robbed and some probably enjoy doing it. It likley irks them watching the hottest women giving all the gringos attention they will never get making only $300-$400 USD a month.

For the love of God leave all jewelry and Apple products in the US. Buy some cheapo used fully unlocked Android phone in the US (maybe have a backup too) and inside the Centro / walled City you can get a Claro Sim with 9 GB of Data for a month for about $8-10 USD. They will pop it in and set it up for you. Set up Whatsapp with your new Cartagena number and download Indriver App for Cabs. Only use cabs from the App or called by Hotels.

Ill be landing early next week for Carnival, 11 nights in Cartegena, 4 nights in Barranquilla, then I have to decide if ill do a week in Medellin or Santa Martha. I wanted to get there a week before due to those plate tickets were just too damn high during the week of carnival. Yesterday I told my main Dolce girl I'm coming and she immediately told me she won't be able to come with me to carnival because some high paying gringo already send her $1000 to be with him, the kicker is his ass don't even get there until the 16th, then when he get there, hes going to give her more money. Of course I call bullshit but then she sends me a screenshot of the PayPal transaction (well that shut me up), His pockets, his choice. Long story short, if your going for carnival and got a favourite girl you want to stay with. You might want to snatch her up if someone didn't already. Also be careful out there because all my chicas are warning me of the crime uptick in Cartegena and says it gets even more crazy around carnival due to the increase of gringos. They said leave everything valuable in the hotel as the pickpocketing is insane during carnival.

I was complacent after 2 decades going weekly to Tijuana, other cities in Mexico, Asia, Europe and Latin America, never lost anything. Did avoid losing the wallet and passport in a filthy Viet *****house on 49th street in Phnompenh thanks to warnings by the bros in that thread. Went to the French villa with a classy brothel full of Viet girls, picked up a few for all nighters, no problemos.

When she said she was hungry, I felt compassion for the people's hardship in Venezuela, so I was cutting her some slack, treating her with dignity not like a potential thief. But my compassion was misplaced, and I was not as fast and alert as I thought I was after drinking all night in the club. Damn, this crooked puta was fast and slick.

Next night I picked up a half Vennie near the clock tower. She was a beautiful spinner, nice, clean, pleasant, would do anything all night in bed. She's very cute and sexy. I would do her again, may be flying her down to MDE for a couple days. I gave her tel to a couple bros to hook. They were all happy with her.

Yes, can confirm they all stop there to eat and hang out there. That street Calle de San Agustin Chiquita also get allot of foot traffic when the girls are walking from Space to Delurium. But you have to deal with that lady whose always there begging infront of the shop.

Recently spent about 5 days in Cartagena with a few other Bilingual first timer buddies that are also born / raised in the North East USA. I was able to gather lots of info from lurking on this forum so I hope some of my info can help others. Based on many informative posts here and prior research on Cartagena we decided on getting two places to rest our heads and enjoy the local talent. A very nice Airbnb in one of the nicer buildings in Laguito (lake and beach area) with great beach views (10 minute walk to Hollywood Beach area known for daytime talent) and also a 2nd spot mostly for smashing (Hotel Viajero Centro) within the walled city right in the middle of all the night time party action. Most of the nicer buildings with security in Laguito or Boca Grande (I was told by locals) will allow guests during the day but you will likely have problems stumbling in with some talent late night / early morning. I was also told by by Venezuelan talent that only Colombian Cedula ID guests are allowed in many of the nicer buildings in Laguito / Boca Grande. One Venezuelan (I'd rate an 8-9 NYC standards) who's services I enjoyed (talked her down to $120 USD for 1. 5 Hrs) told me she would have to pay security $100 USD to see one of her big baller regulars in one of the 5 star hotels.

The beauty of the two location strategy is that you can keep all your valuables in your main spot while never exposing much in your smash spot for late night action. I always made sure to tell talent that I was staying with a few friends at another much nicer location and they respected my not being naive. If you care about getting restful sleep and great beach views then Laguito of Bocagrande is the way to go. 15-20 Minute Cab rides to the Clock Tower or Walled city are only 3-4 USD from Laguito / Bocagrande. El Viajero Centro hotel was certainly guest friendly and down the block from all the pick up clubs. Dolce Vita, Space, Delirium and the best 100% free pickup spot I will bring up later. Viajero centro was maybe a 10 minute walk to the Clock Tower. There were a few gems by the clock Tower area but I was usually not too impressed. My buddy picked up a few gems at the clock tower for $300 K Pesos per Hour.

Prices and service: As someone (mid-late 30's) that can speak totally fluent Spanish with an obvious Gringo accent that isn't horrible looking / smelly / awkward prices ranged from 300-450 K Pesos per hour. All the 8-9's in their early 20's wouldn't go lower than 400 K Pesos / HR. Some of the 7-8's in their early 30's could be had for about $300 K Pesos per hour. My strategy is to always offer them a beer (inside or on street) and talk them up for a good 5-10 minutes to make them feel comfortable before bringing up prices. If they seem only transactional or a hardened pro and not easy going at all then I say bye. I always asked what their price is in pesos not dollars. All service provided is covered with oral and all the normal positions offered. Some kissing and spanking was usually ok from me but I can tell they avoid ruining their hair or makeup.

While I waited for my wingman to get me the beer, I occasionally looked back to my room; she was out in the hallway. I walked back with the beer. She was sitting on the bed inside the room, looking nervous, but I still did not believe she could move so fast. Stupid me, because a pretty girl in NYC was able to cross the room, stole my wallet and returned to her spot like nothing happened, all within 30 seconds while I was in the bathroom. These thieves and pick pockets are extremely fast with their art. Don't underestimate them..

He is local in Cartagena and can guide you through the city and with girls. He can go with you to the clubs and help you translate also. It's just sad to hear these kind of stories.

Up until a few days ago, I had things narrowed down to a few locations in the western hemisphere, and finally decided on Cartegena. But with all the posts over the last few days, I'm wondering if I'm being dumb. I'm planning on going last week in April. I'll be going solo with as much Spanish as I can learn in between now and then. The idea would be to setup something via SA, and failing that, something from the street.

Almost 60 year old guy from the US in Cartegena. Are there additional things I can do to mitigate this risk, or am I just an easily identified target from 1000 yards away?

I thought about checking her hand bag, but being a gentleman I did not want to insult her. Couple minutes later I found out the phone was gone, but lucky she did not steal the wallet and passport, which could be a huge problem.

The hotel manager said there are lots of theft problems with hookers. They would steal anything they can get their hands on, including his computer accessories and table fan. The thieves are very fast. Don't take any chance with them.

I could not find any club girls in all 3 major Col cities to suit my taste. They were all big, chunky, heavy, homely. The few skinny club girls turned out to be transsexuals with deep, horrible broken voices.

Tijuana has hundreds hot girls every night in HK, many model quality. , also lots of hot girls in escort sites, Seeking and Tinder. My wingmen and I usually do 3 or 4 girls each night. Tijuana's bar zone is under protection by the Sinaloa cartel, so nobody dares to pull crimes in their territory. I have been going to Tijuana just every weekend for 22 years. Have never been robbed or lost anything in all those years.

I just returned from 14 days solo in Cartagena and had no trouble. But first, let me say that I did not do any mongering on my trip. I'm not drawn to the Cartagena ladies. If I wanted that, I would have gone to Bogota where the girls are more my style, and neighborhoods like Santa Fe or Candelaria are more accessible and generally safe. I stayed in the Historic Center, and in Bocagrande, and took a side trip to Baru. I met up with a nice lady from Colombian Cupid the last few days and went around with her. I went out walking or to the beach during the afternoons, and strolled around in the evenings, and played the tourist. And ate the crummy local food in average restaurants. And rode around in yellow taxis. I know this site is about mongering, but I just wanted to say that for two weeks, I saw no signs of criminals or crimes, and nobody bothered me (except some pushy venders at the beach). Judging from the posts, I cannot recommend CTG for pursuit of the hobby, and recommend to all to play it safe.

The word I got last year was that the policía aren't putting effort into solving any case involving guys who get robbed by chicas they don't know. I suspect they publicized this to discourage guys from coming.

A Vennie hooker from the Clock Tower stole my phone in the hotel, lost all my contacts, was in deep shit for a couple days. Lucky I had all hotels and flight bookings printed out on paper, also saved in my email, so I could continue my trip to other cities in Colombia and returned to the US.

A wingman did far worse taking a club girl back to his apartment. He got drugged, woke up the next morning the girl was gone, his wallet, money, phone, passport all stolen. The girl could have overdosed and killed him too. Lucky he had a wingman who bailed him out, but they had to go to US Embassy in Bogota and waited a couple days for emergency passport replacement. If you travel solo, you would be really fucked, stuck in a foreign country without money, phone, passport. Having hotels record the girls' IDs would be a layer of protection. Or take pics of them and their IDs and immediately upload them into cloud, just in case they steal your phone too hehe.

Looks like Colombia is rife with all kinds of criminals, ready to prey on sex tourists. Kidnap. Torture, extortion are serious terrorists' crimes. Policias won't do shit to investigate and prosecute crimes against mongers, knowing they will likely not coming back.

There's no reason to hit up Cartagena when many other options are available and they are far less dangerous. Especially if you are solo.

I've been in city and country for five days with four more to go. The reported robberies and beatings are all unfortunate. That being said, why people don't move the same as if they were in the inner cities of Chicago, New York or LOS Angeles is beyond me. Further, if you wouldn't enter these neighborhoods stateside or in your country, why do so abroad.

My contributions today:

Luxury Spa and HOM Spa. Both places offers extras. Expect to pay 150 k for a 60 min massage and requested 100 k to finish. Negotiate of course.

The three clubs (Dolce, Space and Delirium) are all come as you are with girls waiting to be chose. With that, it seems like many of them have set their asking price to $100-150 USD.
