I am going to CTG solo for a month. My spanish is fluent. I know how to blend in. I've been twice before for a week each time and know well laguito, bocagrande and a little of the area near centro comercial castellana. I still need to hangout in more of the old city and learn my way around el centro better. I plan to hang out take salsa lessons at Nueva lengua during the week and take weekend trips to Barranquilla. So far I've been quoted $1300 USD for a one bedroom and $1600 USD for a two bedroom. What can you tell me?

Good morning Gentlemen,

Another question or two from the peanut gallery. I always dress as best I can to blend in with the locals when I travel. Whether I succeed at it or not is debatable. In June the weather in Caratgena is expected to be in the 90's with humidity. I don't mind dressing in jeans and button down shirts in the evening, but how does one dress comfortably, and, blend in during the heat of the day?

Standard fare here in Florida is khaki or denim shorts, tennis shoes, and a polo shirt or t-shirt. I will of course be doing alot of walking around/sight seeing and want to be comfortabe but protected from the blazing sun.

Also, I will assume that some version of the "little blue pill" is available at the farmacia. If so, what name does it go by and how much could I expect to spend on 4-6 pills.

Wear anything you like during the day.

Ask for Viagra generica. Be sure to ask for buen calidad and buy at a better place. Some generics in Colombia are not what they claim to be. You can expect to pay 1.5-3K per pill.

Can I ask how you find Tony? At what beach in Cartagena? Also exactly where is the hooker tent, near a fruit stand? Is the area near the Hilton?

Tony is set up on a part of the beach fronting the Hotel Dann. That is on the opposite end of el Laguito from the Hilton. There is no hooker tent.

RE: ALDO (LDV Jefe) I have known this guy for almost 9 years, and although I would not call him a friend, he has always been pleasant with me (and I am an american guy) Although I could see how he could come off as a jerk because he is a bit aloof, and not very talkative. Except with the guapas in LDV of course.

RE: The girl in the photo. The pict was taken off her profile page from Colombian dating site. Although she was not a girl who gave good GFE. She had such an incredible body! (I like flacas) that I might just go back in July to see just her only. (a 24 yo Alyssa Milano) MMMMM! Would love to see more.

I was in Cartagena for 15 days in February and was stopped at least 5 times by road blocks. All but one time I was in a Taxi either leaving LDV or on my way back from Centro with a girl in the cab. One time I was searched on my way walking home from LDV.

Everytime, they searched me quite thoroughly, examined everything in my pockets and asked for ID. I was never asked for any money and the police were for the most part professional but after a while this definitely started to wear on me.

Taxi driver told me that a bunch of Israelis were found in Centro living with numerous girls as young as 11 years old and this reaction was in response to the negative press the authorities got from the national media claiming tourists are allowed to get away with everything.

I was also in Cartagena March of 08 and was never stopped.

Just read this report from Fabone. Reminded me of a girl I met in Cartagena originally in 2006, but met her again in 2009. According to my wingman she has been on the scene for quite awhile before 2006.

Anyway chatting with her at LDV I noticed she was a bit ragged looking (black eye and cut lip) and she told me that she had been beaten up by a couple of girls there.

When I asked her why she had been assaulted, she said she did not have any idea why. , HMM I thought, but I just let it go, and did not push the issue. But after reading the Fabone story I Understand why. (at least I think I understand) She probably was going for a cheaper than the "SET RATE"

I Use to be a regular in LDV when it was in the old city there (pre-2001), but this MDE/LDV mafia thing explains the steady decline in vibe and in quality.

Now I rarely go back to LDV, the place is just so sad. A shell of its former self. Like one member here wrote" its like a junior high school dance" Girls here boys there, and little mixing.

I realize part of this (perceived decline) is just human nature. I. E. Things always seem better in the past as we age. (pining nostalgic) But CTG and LDV has really gone down hill as a monger destination. However, if you have never been to CTG/LDV you would likely enjoy yourself, as you have no past comparative basis.

Anyway you can still find some cuties there too. This is the girl who was assualted, she was a nice girl but very business like, she spoke some english too. I have been reading your reports and I believe most of what you guys sat is true.As far as the manager banging all the girls and requiring they go to Electra I doubt it .I was there two months ago every day for a week.I witnesses girls getting free drinks from the manager and some girls getting no drinks for free,I also witnessed new girls walking up the steps and asking where the LDV was,the other girls pointed they walked to the door and then asked the doorman if there was a cover.The girls there seem to hang out there in groups probably to protect themselves from the other girls.The manager probably does bang some of the girls there and in return makes them go to the Electra but not all.Do I think mafia is involved?No shit Sherlock I have been going to Colombia for 15 years now there isn't anything I haven't seen including people being shot; no shit!I like Colombia the most because just about anything has its price.Also about those road blocks-in the nineties there would be a road block about every mile on a Colombian road from an airport to a major city and yes you had to pay them off from time to time especially in Medellin.I have only experienced any roadblocks recently in Cali but as far as police and such in the late 90's I was searched by police and had my Passport checked 20 times a day .Those are stories I will only tell you if I meet you someday I don't want to scare anyone just know where you are!

I just found out something interesting when calling Colombia today:

I mentioned my problem with Aldo the manager of LDV. What I didn't go into detail over is what began the situation.

There is a short stocky blonde who instigated the situation that lead to my discussion with Aldo. This girl is a heavy drug user and has a reputation amongst the girls there as a bully & problem starter. Her "artist name" is Michelle but I got her real name and cedula from the police and it's: Yamilet [Personal contact information deleted by Admin]. She crossed the line heavily one night when she and 3 others picked a fight and attacked a non working girl friend of mine that I've know for 3 years. She was translating for a friend of mine at the time. They followed her to the bathroom then jumped her. Didn't even know the girl! When our friend Aldo refused to address the situation, I did. I made it a point to let "Michelle" know that she had better watch herself and this led to my altercation with Aldo as he stepped in and sided with her. Then had me and my two friends kicked out of LDV. Here's the interesting part: My flight was early the next morning so I took off at 6:00 the next morning. She didn't know this and called a hoodlum friend of hers later that day. Told him that she was the inocent victim of a fight and that a crazed gringo tried to physically attack her and threatened her life. Said that he's staying in Laguito and she was successful in recruiting 4 "bad boy Colombianos" in cruising Laguito & Boca so she could point him out and they would jump him!

Dude! These people are idiots!

You're out minding your own business in the club one night when you cross the wrong person. A girl of all things. She starts some s#$! So you stand your ground and the next thing you know you're being hunted by a bunch of ignorant "tough guys" bent on teaching you a lesson? !

No wonder there having this limpieza thing on the putas & gangsters. Gheese! I still say that Aldo is the problem.

I approached him before I said a word to her. He smarted off and refused to do anything about it.

He's befriended these lying, drug abusing, problem causing putas. And when they misbehave, he kicks their victims out and not them!

Guys, the booty's just as good outside of LDV & Elektra.

I for one and looking for a place that treats there customers as guests and appreciates their patronage.
