Posts: 262CTG in Jan. or Feb. ?
I'm thinking about a trip to Cartagena for early 2008. Since I don't get many vacation days from the job, I always travel around a holiday weekend to maximize what I do have so I'm looking at going down around either MLK or President's Day.
Do you guys think there'd be a better selection of chicas at the tail end of the CTG high season around MLK day (which is a little later for 2008, it's on Jan 21) or should I wait for President's Day (Feb 18) ?
Besides chica selection, I also want to try to avoid hordes of the Italo-Israeli crowd, not to mention the high season right after Christmas when I suppose the old city is full of Colombian families from all over the country.
I've been to Cali, Medellin, and Bogota. Will I find CTG disappointing compared to these other places? Is LDV and the rest of the scene really as dead/overpriced as some people say it is?

Posts: 33A decent beach to me is sun, sand , saltwater and waves, women in bikinis. Cartegena has all that.

I would recommend Santa Marta or San Andres instead.
Either that or spend a few days seeing the city sights in Cartagena and a few days on the nearby islands.

I am thinking about taking a date from MDE to Cartagena for a week in early December. Any suggestions on reasonable clean hotels or B&B's that are walking distance to a decent beach?

There are many chicas to be had along Avenida Media Luna in Getsemani, but you really don't want to walk around there after dark. And the hunting doesn't get good until 10 pm or so. It is safe to shop by taxi.
There is really no need to do anything other than LDV, beach, and streets in Boca Grande and Laguito.

Posts: 33Is pleyclub or playboy club the same. Is it a casa or strip joint. I read that there are girls in Getsimani, but that area may be dangerous. I have to make phone calls to the states very early in the morning, most places that offer phone service open around 9am. I use sprint, customer service says they dont offer coverage there and they sent me a download to my phone to enable dual band and said I might have a signal. TIA, Raw

She is 19 works at LDV sometimes also with her cousin as a duo.
She's from Medelin and was called Dulce when I had her.
$100 US for 16 hours of heaven, great attitude highly reccomended.
Also loves to dance and do strip shows to get the party started.
Anyone else had the pleasure of this hot rod?

Posts: 190I did a week at the Nueva Lengua school in Gethsemani. I had Ricardo as a teacher, featured at the bottom of their web page: http://www.nuevalengua.com/cartagena.htm
The school is small and pretty basic, but I thought the instruction was pretty good. Ricardo was a good teacher, and Jesus, the jefe, is a nice guy also. Fairly cheap. One negative is that barrio Gethsemani, located near downtown, is really freakin' hot during the day (I went in June) and there's only fans to keep you cool in many of the rooms which have no windows. The classes are very small so you'll get a lot of personal attention/instruction from the teacher (they have to be, the rooms are very small). I did a half day thing, got out at lunch time, and had some nice meals at the many restaurants nearby. Met some nice gringas there, and we hung out a lot. Who wouda thunk it? PM me if you have any other questions. www.123teachme.com has rating from former students and I generally agree with their assessments:

I stayed there in February. I liked it better then Torre Centauro. IN November you had to get the building security let you in. The room was nice, not much furniture. Right across the street from LDV.

Where to Stay: Call Juan that easy. I stayed in Playa Mar.
Where to Go:
LDV walk out of apartment go left about 6 block up stairs and in the door. Its a candy store! They ask anywhere from 150K to 300K. Pick and offer 150K and we leave now. Clincher is NOW. No more waiting no more drinks to convince me. Drank at apartment all stayed longer than assumed.
Pleyboy: (its how its spelled) Take a cab pay about 5-15k. A bit out of the way but has eat in (150k+) and take out (300k). Use same clincher as above. Bam.
Trusted Taxi: Invaluable Julio 3145024276 Was a boxer. Big boy. Nobody will bother ya.
It was that easy to get the marathon going.

Anybody have any experience with Spanish language schools in Cartegena? I'm considering a trip there and would like to take some language classes during the day.
Thanks,
