Was down there (CTG) last year, met you & stayed in playa. Was planning to come down again. Wanted to see if you were in CTG or MDE.

I will be in MDE from 9/26 until the end of Jan. Then 6 weeks in CTG and back to MDE.

Nightlife = clubs packed wall to wall. Very little room to even move.

Any have any thoughts if the Miss Colombia Beauty Pageant is worth the visit? Any thoughts on the night life during that weekend?

I'm thinking about a visit to Cartegena in the next few weeks. Would this be hi or low season. I noticed Micheals name is no longer on the colombiarental.net website contact list. The guy was very helpful, anyone know if he is still around.

Actually I'm not going to flat out say this is not good advice, but I'd advise you to do your homework first.

Trying to "legally" get your money out of Colombia is a lot more difficult than you may think. Don't just assume you can wire transfer or Western Union money out.

Don't ask people for advice like this. Nobody can help you because your ideas are unique. Just do it. Try small, take $1000 worth of stuff and go around and make contacts. Sell at or below cost. Sell for whatever you can sell for, as long as you make contacts. What is the worst case scenario? You spent $1000 and sold it for $300? So you lost $700 but imagine the week you spent. You made 25 contacts, you gained invaluable experience. You learned much about export and customs and marketing in foreign lands. You know what to watch out for next time, etc.... and you really would have needed to screw up to buy for $1000 and sell for $300. Imagine you met a girl and told her what you were doing. Instead of saying "come I'll give you $60", you are trying to expand your business to Cartagena.

Win win win. There is no possible negative outcome.

Hey I am curious to know, is anyone here in the trade business? I am interested in importing off priced goods (closeouts) into Cartagena but not sure if there is any money to be made over there. Does anyone know anything about the importing policies over there and if there are potential wholesale buyers in Cartagena?

I am about to make a reservation with one of the apartments that Juan Ventura rents. He is asking that a deposit be sent to him beforehand. Is this safe? Will the room be guaranteed?
